Hannah and Her Sisters is one of my favourites of Woody Allen

6:20 - Oh my God ... I remember O'Grady's potato chips ... they were my favorites ... bit and thick and crunchy, they were really good - and then the disappeared. I think they got too expensive, but they were really great. I'd forgotten the name of them and was starting to wonder if they even existed at all.

Down and Out is so great, funny and entertaining (it's now on HBO). Hannah and her Sisters was a great film, and Woody got great performances from his actors. The old man/young beautiful woman plot is on center stage now after the allegations, and it's hard to see those films the same way now. Robin Williams' performance in Best of Times was stellar, even if the film wasn't spectacular. I guess they had to rip on something, seeing the quality of performances that were standard at the time, based on those 4 films.

Hannah and Down and Out were good. Fond memories of both. Never saw Power but now I will. I will stick up for The Best of Times, not great but I thought it was solid entertainment. I don't recall Robin Williams performance being as 'wild' as they say and Kurt Russell is always good.

Agree with you AC all the way (even the part about never seeing Power). I searched this review out bc I just watched Down and Out on HBO (after many years, I still loved it). I loved Hannah & Sisters back then. Now after seeing the Farrow documentary on HBO, you can't help but notice the older man with young beautiful woman as part of the major plot. But getting to Best of Times, that was a pretty funny movie. And to totally rip Robin Williams' performance? Come on, we wish we had actors like Robin Williams now.

Roger Ebert included two Woody Allen films in his “Great Movies” list; “Annie Hall” and “Manhattan,” but Hannah and Her Sisters was left out. Here and in his written review he seems to find it one of Allen’s best. Ergo, it’s exclusion from “Great Movies” always left me scratching my head.

He didn't get around to writing it before he died. I'm sure he would have.

I had the same reaction when he placed Raging Bull was on his final ten best list. In 1990, he said Goodfellas was Marty's best. I suppose it's just a matter of getting over an initial reaction.

I used to love Hannah and her Sisters Until Woody became "Woody" I can't even separate the art from the artist from him.

I'm beginning to loathe Bette Midler the more I watch these Siskel and Ebert classics. Was she ever decent in a movie?

Down and Out in Beverly Hills was terrific. Ruthless People was a lot of fun. The Rose was exceptional. Scenes From a Mall was alright
