He's such an amazing actor in everything that he's played in. His performances are intense and he gives it 110% of himself in just about every film he has been in. My favorite film of Nick Nolte's was as 'Coach Pete Bell' in the sports film, "Blue Chips." (1994). His acting was superb.

I just searched 'Q & A movie' on RUclips and found it. No, you didn't give too much away. Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide says it's a "gritty, graphic, well-acted story" and I agree. Nick Nolte and Armand Assante play forceful, dangerous characters at odds with each other plus Timothy Hutton who's investigating corruption in the police force. Not an outstanding movie but Nolte and Assante are outstanding actors. @@HoldenNY22

Garett Morris last episode on SNL: 5/24/1980 Season 5, Episode 20 (end of season). Eddie Murphy's 1st appearance on SNL: 12/13/1980 Season 6, Episode 4. 48hrs Filming started on 5/17/1982.
48hrs Release date 12/8/1982. 12/13/1980 Nolte was scheduled to host the SNL show on 12/11/1982. He loved alcohol. Eddie Murphy stepped up to host the show because Nolte was sick. If you listen to him in his prior roles, you'll hear a voice slowly distorting due to alcohol. This is way before his 50's. Same thing with Danny Bonaduce and other celebrities. Nolte is a great actor and that's all that matters. I wish the media would catch on to that.

Here are some ways to connect Nick to Kevin Bacon:
    1. Nick Nolte was in 48 Hours with Eddie Murphy, who was in Shrek with John Lithgow, who was in Footloose with Kevin Bacon.
    2. Nick Nolte was in Lorenzo's Oil with Susan Sarandon, who was in Dead Man Walking with Sean Penn, who was in Mystic River with Kevin Bacon.
    3. Nick Nolte was in Warrior with Tom Hardy, who was in The Revenant with Leonardo DiCaprio, who was in Catch me if You Can with Tom Hanks, who was in Apollo 13 with Kevin Bacon.
There might be others, but those are just 3.
