The best about Ray Liotta's acting is he committed to make every scene he's in looks real. Sometimes when his role needs him to be evil, angry or funny, he put 200% efforts into it. Really convincing.

No matter who else was on screen with him, the viewer's eyes always went immediately went to the incomparable Liotta. His electrifying presence could not be eclipsed by any actor, no matter how great nor how small.

He gives that impression of a humble routine support actor guy, who does his job, meets A-class actors somewhere in his way, praises directors, admires legends he met, but doesn't fully realise he is one already. What an icon. Such humbleness with a serious dedication to the craft. Liotta is amazing.

RIP Truly one of the most talented actors of his generation, no doubt... he definitely gets underrated due to being typecast as a wiseguy. He was great as "Shoeless Joe" or as the father in "Blow"!

@@keith3140 in one of the interviews he said that his father was an abusive husband and would always violently behave with Liotta's mother. He followed what he had observed as a kid, and also enacted what he felt like doing to his father.

Blow is such an underrated movie. Brilliant cast, story and production. It makes you laugh, cry and actually feel bad for the main character, even though he’s a drug deal. Definitely in my top five films of all time. Thank you Mr Ray. You’ll be missed.
His performance in Narc was the most underrated of 2002. It was a ferocious turn. Detective Henry Oak was downright frightening.

When I heard that Netflix and Scorsese where doing the Irishman my mind immediately jumped to images of De Niro, Pesci and Ray Liotta. I died a little bit in the inside when I found that he wasn't in the cast.

He said in another interview that he would have liked to play a romantic lead. He said he was never cast as the guy who gets the girl but he would get cast as the guy who strangles the girl. Great actor!

Whoppi isnt an ugly woman and has even sometimes looked beautiful, but imagine dating her or even just hanging out with her in the 90s. One of my all time favorite actors.. Losing him to me, i feel the same when Bill Paxton passed... just shocked...people like GQ etc never talk about some of my favorite Liotta film moments Unlawful Entry, Article 99, Turbulence, No escape, Cop Land, identity, JOhn Q, Charlie St. Cloud, Wild Hogs
He sold every role he was in 100%. One of the few actors who avoided scandal, stayed true to his craft, and was a class act. One of the last of the old guard of Hollywood. I have a lot of disdain for Hollywood but never him. Rest in peace Ray.

@The Senate He did some other morally questionable stuff, iirc. And while I enjoy coke as much as the next guy, it's a pretty terrible drug as far as what it's made off, and how/where it's produced. The Vick comparison is kinda unequal, in that Vick is/was a public figure and was able to afford crazy lawyers and publicists. George was a "criminal", with nary a positive thing to be said about him, publicly at least.

His breakout role in Something Wild was one of those rare moments when you know you're seeing an amazing talent for the first time.
Yeah, remember seeing that movie in 1986 and I was impressed with everyone in it but most especiallly Liotta; had never seen him before and wondered "who is this guy?" Glad he went on to do more great films!
