As a propane delivery driver, I visit these kind of locations occasionally, especially after storms and power outages, that's when they actually use propane up at the tower for generators. I have one location, the trail to the top is 2.8 miles, I can't drive my bobtail faster than 1 MPH, or everything in my cab will be all over the place, it's covered with rocks and cliffs for the road surface. So almost 3 hours just for that trail uphill. So, imagine having to go up and see a 33k GVWR propane truck on those trails, with 3400 gallon tank on the back.
I feel like I saw one of these recovery YT channels grab one of those a few years ago, but I think it was more snowy. Don't remember who. Maybe Robbie?

Those roads to mountain top radio sites brings back memories of my youth. My dad would servce many of those types of sites through the Utah, Az, Nevada, Colorado area back in the old vacuum tube days when they needed worked on fairly often. On occasion he would let me go with him which was a great adventure be it traveling in the truck or the snowcat. It still amazes me how much was done back then with lots less capable vehicles than what we have today.
Reminds me of when I was a child too. In Oregon on weekends my family would drive on old logging roads to the top of mountains. There’s usually a fire watch tower on the highest peaks. We’d have picnic then drive home. When family from Texas would visit we’d take them up there. They were very scared of going off the edge’s because it was a long way to the bottom and very steep.

It took you longer to drive from Hurricane than it did to do the job, lol. Every time I had to go up there, I would wonder how the first dozer operator felt cutting in that road. It got torn up really bad by the monsoons of 2012 (or 13?) - the year highway 91 was wiped out and the Santa Clara and Virgin rivers did so much damage in the valleys. It looks like they fixed it really well, but I know how you felt on those crazy-steep switchbacks. Go team Katelynn and Jamie!

Hey Matt, been watching your teams videos without a miss for at least 2 years and I think this was the best rigging I have ever seen here. I would never thought of the second rope attached to the back of the morrvair
Totally awesome recovery! Great job all of you! I did love seeing Matt get SO nervous as his wife was unable to interpret his signals and try to put the Moorvair into a VERY treacherous position. Fortunately Matt from Mars and Jamie from Venus got stopped and then started on getting the signals correct and NOBODY went off the mountain! I love Kaitlyn plucky fearlessness! You go girl!
11:07 something could be MacGyver if you wanted to, there’s a solution to every problem, collect a selection of seatbelt buckles from the junk yard (the big brands/common types) at least , modify a junk belt to have fixings on the ends that either clamp to the recovery vehicles existing belt or fixings at the top and the seat base at the bottom, cam locks/carabiners or mini soft shackles, add a tensioner so it’ll suit most people and vehicles. Kudos to Kaytlynn I’m sure is not easy holding yourself up at that angle for that long feathering the pedals.
Would be a good idea if vehicle buckle was locked low. It looks like they are locked with buckle shoulder height? Then of course no idea variety of buckles? A thin door lock pin? To correct male ends might work… there are 5 manufactures. No clue how many designs. I looked at a car. It had sat in closed but not vented shed MN +5 years. Some mold, rust. They replaced drivers seat/shoulder belt from bone yard. *I assume same brand wreck*. I test drove it, twisted. Buckle unlatched. Not 30 lbs force it jumped out. Maybe rust, grit? But female end was in car, male end bone yard. No thanks,

Katelynn, at 10:34 "This is a manual transmission . . ." Me : so, normal. While a torque converter is sometimes the best thing for the job, there are also occasions when the finesse of a manual clutch is all you need.
Agreed. Maybe it's because I grew up with it but diesel torque coupled to a manual and low range transfer case is my favorite way to go off road, you pretty much let the clutch out and nothing other than very steep or wet and slippery is going to stop you.
“What’s a 3/4 ton dodge doing up here?” Well, I’m a propane delivery driver and what I noticed were the two 1,000 gallon tanks, so somehow a 33,000 pound bobtail is making it up there.
They didn’t put that much load on the pillars. It’s not like the pillars just sit on the surface, they are very secure to support the towers in extreme winds. Do you not remember that they will anchor on trees and bushes and those work fine?
Those pillars go several feet and we're talking probably 20 to 30 or more into the ground and they're filled with concrete. Whoever runs the TV service for that area will not raise holy terror over that.
Pretty scary recovery situation. And no seatbelt. But man that beautiful sound of that Cummins idling... And manual shift. Put that on low and no need throttle, them tires would turn. Good job Katelyn
Note to engineers: if you ever install a propane tank on a far off mountain top in the middle of nowhere, make sure some cowboy can't come around and be able to rip it out of the ground with the help of two vehicles.

Is this a good idea? Should I turn around? Oh I gotta put it in four-wheel low this starting to get real bad at that point they should’ve figured yeah this isn’t for me and my truck isn’t built for this especially a stock ram at that, they should have common sense enough just to turn around sometimes I feel like people just get stuck on purpose out there to be in your videos to become a little bit famous
The landscape you have over there in that area is always again breathtaking!
Hi all, a bit late to the party, but as I live right on the Coast of Essex, England, at 10PM UK time its 8C, and we have not had sunshine for a few days, as we start our winter season. NEVER give up hope of a sunshine day here. Thanks all.
Another dangerous recovery on top of Mount Crumbly and the Moorvair, Jaymie, KateLynn and Dillon recovered the Ram from the edge of cliff! Good video and awesome scenery and sunset!
I always wished I was part of a family business like this. Having a father teach me these types of things and taking over the family business would be awesome.
With the ever confident Katelyn. Always good to see her smile. God Bless!
Katelynn is the "Bomb"...always smiling, eager to do especially crazy recoveries...well done.
The whole crew is awesome..Jaime is fearless in her own way...terrific.
@@billbradley2480 My dad took the whole family on forest road detours on the way to grandma's house, and my sister would cry when she had to be on the side of the car that looked down the mountain. 1971 Ford LTD, with an open differential and hi-tech "radial" tires LOL. We also drove to mountain tops like this in our 2WD 1969 F100, also with an open differential. Momentum is your friend, while going uphill!
Wow!! That was quite the recovery! Katelyn, what a trooper and Jamie is tremendous too! What an effort!
Well done on the Recovery ,, really sketchy place to be ,,,, BUT the Construction Teams who planted those Radio Towers up there 😱
Matt, I’m shocked that this was your first trip to the top of Utah Hill. My Varsity Scout coach was a Ham Radio guy and we did peek to peek signaling activities up there on Utah Hill. It is a gorgeous view from the top. Right at the border of three states and right at the border of three major land formations (Great Basin, Mohave Desert, Colorado Plateau).
3:10 "Jamie: we're high Matt: very high hehehehe" I feel like that should be clipped 😏
Hey, we were in St. George a week ago and came by the shop. Only the merch shop was open, but fun to see the Morrvair, Banana and Wrecker sitting in the yard, just like I've seen them on the vids!
Handily, also picked up a hard-to-find bottle of rye whiskey in town 😎
Wow! What a fun place to dangle off a mountain! Katelynn is a champ. Cracks me up to know when you filmed something on a Wednesday. I think the whole crew needs pink bibs or coveralls for Wednesdays!
8:39 Matt demonstrates being a Victory Pie-lon. 😁
Que lindo paisaje, uno de los mejores que he visto en estos videos, deseo con muchas ganas ir a Utah algún día ya que soy de Costa Rica, Pura Vida Matt and his crew 🙌🏼😎
do it! the southern end of the state has many national and state parks for good reason ❤
Katelynn and mom , excellent driving! Matt that was a scary place to maneuver!!! I can't believe the customer was up there!
Matt and Jaymie have four children, all sons.
What a beautiful spot and evening for a recovery.
great job everyone, best thing he did was make the call ,he knew enough to get out and call for help
Nice nail bitting recovery. All did a good job
Wow! On top of a steep Mountain off-camber, brakes clutch and throttle, Katelynn did great! Someone should make a picture for her from that scene at 9 minutes 30 seconds, total Pro
Rams do that. 😎☕️Goodmorning crew!
That Ram tried to be a mountain goat.
Yeah, they go places that ford and chevrolet are afraid to go.
@BFTEgodswarrio5939 yeah, over a cliff lol
Katelyn did that clutch some justice, impressive foot work!!!!
Good afternoon from Namibia. Love the crew and the dogs
The dogs are the best part!
That's so awesome to hear! Love from all around the world
At 10:28 you can see the propane tanks behind Matt. Yes I've been up to cell/radio towers, in a bobtail. We don't have 4 wheel drive and we weigh substantially more, it's not a fun drive but boy are the views gorgeous.
Katelynn is such a good sport!
Huge respect from Pakistan America is full of beautiful landscape I'm very happy to see the beautiful places❤❤❤
Great work team, an Katelynn is a driving beast…. My full respect for her skills, and Matt’s teaching….. well done fellas….
She brought a lot of crawling and offroad skills to MORR. She's been a successful competitor for years now with her dad. Matt hired well.
Classic Matts Offroad Video. No shenanigans, just rescue
Hey Matt! If you're feeling toasty after that job it's the microwave antenna heating you up! Thanks for a great video! Be safe out there!!
Lol
Everyone got there dose of radiation n that recovery.
Was thinking the same but then saw what I assumed to be radomes were the propane tanks. Whew.
@@jasonh4167 towers like that aren't going to hurt you. It's all non-ionizing radiation
Probably one of the craziest recoveries I've seen you guys do. Amazing work y'all
It took you longer to drive from Hurricane than it did to do the job, lol.
Amazing job guys !!......again Caitlin impressed the crap out of me driving that stick.....Jamie also.....nerves of steel (trying to figure out Matt's hand signals.....😅
Awesome clutch work Kaitlyn
what great work team ,you all had trust in everyone else ,,,,the dream team, sorry but gee Im sure all you guys deserve and hug to say thanks for the things you do ,love to meet you guys sometime ,Cheers Glenn from New Zealand
A girl that's been upside down in a rock crawling rig _KNOWS_ the value of her seat belt. I trust her to know what's up.
"Relax, I'm A Professional " Ferris Bueller's Day Off
We love your show Matt, blessings to you and yours .
Katlyn you've gone a long way 👏🏼 Good job kid ,keep it 💯 💪🏼
Hi there!
The sound we can hear at 0:37, when Matt opens the gas cap, indicates that there is a vacuum in the gas tank and the air bleeder is not working. This can lead to some loss of engine power and difficulty for the fuel pump. Sorry if you already knew this.
Thank you very much for all your videos and your great work, which we can witness))
Best wishes,
I heard that as well.
The pressure is venting OUT due to the hot weather.
@@bubbles9052 Either way, I think the tank needs venting.
some sort of venting issue as fuel is leaking out at 6:25
@@shaneyboi5793 Wow! Great catch. It is amazing what people can see and pick out in RUclips videos.
It’s just nice to see genuine people doing what they love and doing it very well!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
I love it when Matt sings out random song lyrics. Lol
That is some unique video. Well done sir.
That's the job that honestly I would LOVE to do, but unfortunately in my place in EU not that many people do offroad. Every job you do is just like an another adventure. I'm kinda jaleous 😂
Oh yah, we all are lol. What an amazing job right? And it's got to feel so good to finish the job and see people's happy smiles
I love how Jaimie, Katelynn, and Lizzy have excelled. It is so much fun watching Matt teach and encourage his whole family and friends in this adventure.
To quote Terry Pratchett: "You get a wonderful view from the point of no return"
Katelyn rocks and one of your most scenic and beautiful recoveries. Katelyn you need a raise for sure.
Maybe time for a Matt's strap recovery seatbelt? Something that can attach somehow to the seat or frame to give some kind of protection in the case the seatbelt isn't working?
If that vehicle starts rolling you want to be able to escape quickly
If she really felt the need of a restraint, maybe they coulda harnessed her to the morvair.
A 16-minute video dropped 2 minutes ago. It already has comments on the video a minute old. These aren't 'hi' comments either. People watched this at 16x speed 😮😵💫? The math ain't mathing. The MORR fans make the impossible possible using Matth-e-matics 😂. Great work, everyone. Nice to know a few times a week, the MORR family has got something brewing to put a little smile on our dismal faces
Being married and a dad now with a little girl (3). THIS video made me very proud for you. That feeling you get watching your kid and work work to help you succeed 🤙🏼🙏🏼
It's so useful their service, thank God they exist.
Jamie makes every episode better. Gassing up? Way to go Matt!
Hey Matt, been watching your teams videos without a miss for at least 2 years and I think this was the best rigging I have ever seen here. I would never thought of the second rope attached to the back of the morrvair
I often wonder what people are thinking when they do these things. Gravity is not forgiving, especially at that height.
No thanks,
16:20 - always good advice, dagnabbit (but why do we have to say it at all?!). THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE MORE ENTERTAINING! MORR vids that I have seen lately. I must admit I have been remiss in viewing all the recent content, but this one right here makes it all worthwhile. And I am glad, too, that I have all of the recovery equipment seen in this vid, plus more. I am pre-pared! sirs. And Ladies. How great is it to see your young staff evolve. We miss Lizzy, yes, but Cait/Kate is revealing herself to be a real peach. God bless everyone at MORR. Cheers!
I admire the person who drove the concrete truck up there.
You guys rock! The trust the team has in Matt is commendable! Great recovery! Catch you on the next. ✌️ 😊
Katelynn, at 10:34 "This is a manual transmission . . ."
Me : so, normal.
While a torque converter is sometimes the best thing for the job, there are also occasions when the finesse of a manual clutch is all you need.
I am amazed that a manual gearbox option even exists on such a truck. Maybe there is hope for the world 😁😄
I believe that's an NV5600 too. Really strong 6 speed
@@PesmogDon't have too much faith lol. It's sad to say but I give it 10 years and they won't even be making them anymore
@@Pesmog 2018 was the last year that Ram offered a manual and they were the last holdout, Ford and Chevy ditched manuals in trucks long before.
Agreed. Maybe it's because I grew up with it but diesel torque coupled to a manual and low range transfer case is my favorite way to go off road, you pretty much let the clutch out and nothing other than very steep or wet and slippery is going to stop you.
Yall are such a great team. Love how Kaitlyn is down for whatever and isn't scared. She gets the job done ! 👍🏼💯
1:28 They misspelled Heck Hole.
...it's Utha, they're not allowed to cuss...🤷♂
@@wilgerdes3240 What is Utha?
That was crazy. Beautiful views thanks
“What’s a 3/4 ton dodge doing up here?” Well, I’m a propane delivery driver and what I noticed were the two 1,000 gallon tanks, so somehow a 33,000 pound bobtail is making it up there.
Years of experience put on display. Made that look easy. 👏👏
Whoever operates that tower setup will raise holy terror if they find out you used their pillars for anchors.
As a trail user I was just thinking "oh man they'll just that as an excuse to gate the road"
Matt is a true leader. The girls did a fantastic job.
