However after digging deeper into the numbers, my insurance provider (NatGen Premier) does charge significantly higher premiums for Teslas versus our previous cars (Hyundais). The bulk of the increase has to do with auto repairs, and there's even an extra charge on the Tesla (but no the Hyundai) for OEM replacement parts. I decided to stick with my current policy provider because I do have significantly higher liability coverage versus Tesla insurance, so I think it'll even out in the long run. I live is southern Cal near that happy place. Most Superchargers in the general LA area are full price, $0.48, from 10AM until 7PM and half the price, $0.24, the rest of the day before and after. Some lesser used superchargers are the lower price 24/7. Outside the area the price is somewhere between those prices.

I have a 2021 LR MY that I picked up last June. I too live in an apartment complex here in SoCal with no personal charger. I use a free Level 1 charger in my neighborhood and a local supercharger. A small adjustment to planning drives but nothing crazy. It helps that I work remotely so I get to sit at the level 1 charger on my laptop throughout the week. FYI, charging rates are half at superchargers in SoCal from 10 pm to 7 am. So, you could cut that $18 to $9 if you go during off-peak hours. Also, you can turn your phone into a hotspot to download updates. 🖖🏿

Your video is the best walk around video i have seen and it really shows the red/white combination. There are currently only 5 model Y's in the UK split over two different Tesla locations. I like all of the paint colours apart from the black and I like the white interior, I don't dislike the black interior apart from the wood trim which I know can be replaced. I wish tesla would make a similar video to yours in 4K with every colour combination to help potential uk, and other country, buyers. Im going to Dallas in a week so will probably wait until then so i can see the real thing.Thanks Dave

My Y is $$$ to insure. Build & finish & material quality is not great. Ride is on par with Toyota Camry but it’s cheap to operate per mile and Tesla service is pretty good with coming to your home for repairs. This is my 2nd Tesla. I honestly miss our previous Benz’ and can’t say I’d rush to buy another Tesla when we’re done with the Y. They are fragile and quirky and I actually do miss traditional buttons and layout. Don’t get me wrong, I think the Y is a fantastic vehicle for what it is & considering there was no other viable option for a similar EV but that will change fast. I have my eye on the EQB
I have a Netgear MiFi 10GB data my Nissan LEAF for the dash-cam . I am sure this would be fine for the Tesla. 😂 my Y will be delivered in February 18th.
If you read manual or contract service center they will tell you using superchargers too often will ruin your battery, if you can't charge at home u should download apps like plugs share, charger finder, etc those types of chargers will take longer to charge but better for u battery. I agree with Robs Stuff. You do you. The rear panels will not be sandblasted. Yes, they will accumulate dirt sprayed from the front wheels. but you can clean them frequently. PPF is an option but personal preference. Same for the mud flaps. My MYP came with the mud flaps but they rub over speed bumps. The smaller aftermarket ones don’t protect as well. So it’s a trade off. I installed the PPF but it was my personal preference. My car is the pearl white. Not sure if they would change the aesthetic on your color which looks great. Just sharing the my experience without any exaggerations.

Thanks for the video and valuable points. Does it come with air/wish bone suspension? From last time I ride it 2019 model, it was quiet a stiff ride. I wouldn't mind but when you pay 65k, hell yeah you want a plush drive.
It is still very stiff. But you can upgrade suspension to luxury coilover kit from either Mountain Pass (KW comfort coilover) or Unplugged Performance (Hyperco). They will set you back $3K (part + labor roughly) but they improve the ride quality quite significantly.

I think in this case experts on RUclips are recommending that if someone like me who will receive Model Y delivery in January should delay their delivery until June and July to get this new battery.

Using a super charger frequently will degrade your battery/range over time more quickly than using a level 1 or 2 charger.
That's why I charge mine with the granny charger overnight. Works for me and I never let it go below 20%.

The California HOV stickers are a stupid idea. Here in AZ, long as you have an alternative fuel vehicle license plate then you can use the HOV lanes.

Yes that’s close. I ordered white with white seats, & black rims, no tow hitch or FSD: total $58,440, tax $4,529. (Ordered end of Sept 2021).
Have 2021 y and battery horrible with hot or cold weather… definitely gets really hot in summer…

You need some accessories my friend. Number 1 is mud flaps. Number 2 is PPF for lower corner of rear doors. Check out some videos for more tips.

The tyres are over inflated for shipping apparently so dropping to correct pressure helps ride comfort

I have not heard one squeaking noise. Maybe I got lucky.
Forget BMW they suck. Choose between MODEL Y or fully optioned FORD MUSTANG MACH E.

I honestly don’t know. I’ll try to find out. I don’t think the new ones are out yet but I could be wrong.
@@Robsstuff most likely the old battery pack since i believe the 4680 is dependent on Giga Austin being fully operational
I think in this case experts on RUclips are recommending that if someone like me who will receive Model Y delivery in January should delay their delivery until June and July to get this new battery.
@@srizvi1025 true, and then you could wait for the next upgrade then the next one and never get a car. I’m going to love the one I have and then upgrade to all the new stuff on the next one.

My Insurance actually went down $40 a month with Tesla insurance. Not sure why. I have a flawless driving record so I guess that helps.
@@Robsstuff Ok thanks. Does Tesla Insurance have all the standard options like rental car coverage etc in case car is in bodyshop? I was told that Teslas take long time to get fixed since they have limited Tesla certified body shops. Does Tesla insurance cover for a rental car if its more than 30 days?

Thankfully, there are other excellent electric cars out there...
I’ve had no negative experiences with them yet but I guess I will find out over time. I will keep people updated.
@@Robsstuff I put a $250 deposit on a model Y, called and told them I made a mistake - meant to put the deposit on a Model 3. Would not let me change, would not approve a $250 refund. Was very rude to me... Lost my $250. Looking at the Volvo and Kia - both seem excellent, and very accommodating customer service...
