Great video! Just wondering if you would recommend the Katana for a table (laptop/PC) or more of a tv setup with a bigger space? Currently have the Pebble for a table setup and wondering if I should upgrade
I would say you'll probably be able to have it on both of the setups you mentioned. It works as a desk under monitor soundbar or a tv (movie) setup too. The desk that you see currently in the video is a 140 x 60 cm table, and there's still plenty of space to work around that!
Nice review, thanks for that. I've been waiting for V2 top drop down to around $400 for a year now and it hasn't happened. While it looks to be a great soundbar, it is too expensive for what it is in my opinion. How does SE compare to V2 and V2X in terms of base though? I like the idea of not having an extra sub, but not at the expense of a much inferior base. Also, with SE (or any other Katana soundbar really), does it have to be connected to the PC using a cable or can it also be connected via BT, which would eliminate yet another cable and provide a neater setup?
i feel that based on historical data, I haven't seen price go down beyond $400 too. i have also not seen SE drop to a price below $400 so it may not be a thing. But i think most importantly is to purchase something within your budget that sounds good to you too instead of going over your budget. I would say that the SE is not much of an inferior base, it is just different from the V2 and V2X . It's their first compact soundbar within the katana family so im excited for the future iteration without an external subwoofer Also it has cables for PC and tv. Its a usb A to C for PC and it is provided in the box. I would suggest you not to use BT when it comes to the soundbar as its important to plug into the source to get the maximum sound experience. If you're using BT, it may not be just worth it
Suii la Mr Tanggoz, but maybe can add an end screen with the links to other vids and what not, so that the vid doesnt end too abruptly. But overall its been edited and shot very nicely!!
Oh yes! Thanks so much for suggesting this! I haven't had the chance to explore end screen yet! still really new to youtube but now that you have mentioned it, i will go check it out for sure and add it in :)
I would say that if you're comparing purely on the bass between the SE vs the v2, the v2 still holds up slightly better (expected cause there's an external sub-woofer). However, as a standalone unit without an external sub-woofer, the SE performs amazing at its own category. Treble definition are clear with immersive experience (from the bass too)
@@tanggoz I see...I have no issue having an external sub. I just want the best sound quality, and I tend to prefer cleaner, more neutral sound. I'm actually looking into any soundbar. I'm actually looking at any soundbar around this price with the best sound quality. I do play games but I'm not buying a soundbar exclusively for gaming.
@@DocRealTalk i see there's a few options around this price point but if you're someone who's not too familiar with custom sound signatures, i recommend the SE for its simplicity when it comes to plug and play (and also portability). Really decent quality and highly recommend you to try it out first in the store (With source directly connected and not using bluetooth). What i noticed from using soundbars with sub-woofers are that sometimes the bass can get quite overwhelming. I prefer something that's cleaner too thus I don't need the external sub-woofers if its already offered within
I have a standard v2 version. Althogh I like it like overall and the sound it produces, I think its kinda overpriced especially for the technology we get. Also the cable connectors, ac adapter, etc has this very cheap feeling, kinda like it's taken from the 1$ aliexpress auction xd Thats strange especially that chinese brands like Xiaomi or Huawei can do way better in this regard.
Couldn't agree more, it is VERY expensive. Good luck with waiting until it drops below $400. I've been waiting for V2 to drop below AU$450 for about a year now and the most it dropped is by AU$50. Can't see it being any different with SE unfortunately. I'm almost at a point of just getting g560 and be done with it.
@arcturuz78 I think there was a promotion recently on the Creative store that had a promotional price of S$419. Not too sure if it's still going on right now
@@strasnistrasni9991 I agree with you that the price of the Katana has not deviated much from its original pricing even with its past promotion. I feel that the g560 is also another speaker on its own category with RGB + bass. I would say the main points for me on Katana SE is really the portability of the speaker without the external subwoofer + the size of the sound bar which kinda immerse you when you watch a movie/game versus a typical pc speaker setup. I might try to see if i could do a review for a comparison! try out the soundbar live in store and lemme know what you think!
@@tanggoz The best price ever I've seen for V2 is AU$499 and that was just a couple of weeks ago, but even at that price, it is still way too expensive in my opinion.
@@tanggoz That would be awesome if there was a comparison between Katana lineup. I wish i could try it in store, but I'm yet to see it in store anywhere here in Sydney.
it depends on which market are you at. I think Creative labs has spent most of its time marketing to the US market although they are a Singaporean brand. In terms of quality, I still believe that there are much where Creative can compete and innovate from. Am positive on the outlook that this might be a start of something more

I think this brand has been ignored because it has always been overpriced 2nd-rate stuff, so people are weary.
