- Testing an IGBT with the diode tester on your meter. Everything you need to know about testing an IGBT. Check out the Fluke meter I use at amzn.to/2ZIb5bV
Remember not to touch an IGBT or MOSFET with your hands due to potential damage from static!!!!
Excellent explanation. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge. Cheers!
You make great videos with real world scenarios...…….Thanks,...…. Please continue to make VFD training troubleshooting....You explanations are excellent.
Thank you Sir, Extremely good video and very patiently expressed on how to test IGBT. I have seen this video almost 5 times as I am preparing for my marine ETO's oral examination and this video has helped me a lot. So my special thanks to you. Also I like your dog very much, reminds me of my darling Labrador Justus.
Very good video. Great tip to ground out the trigger gate and emitter to prevent false reading of bad power circuit.
Never delete this video, very informative video 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for explaining this so well for electrical ignorant ppl like me. I’ve spent 48 hours trying to figure these things out on my welding machine. At least I can test it properly now and understand what’s wrong if anything there. Maybe if someone sees this… primeweld TIG 225 made a pop noise from the ground clamp. Probably bad ground.. no burn marks inside the machine anywhere at all. Did not trip the initial mini breaker on the machine rated 60A. Did not trip the breaker in my building rated 40A. Did however trip the breaker in my main supply breaker box outside about 50 yards away from the building, supplying the building separately from my house….this breaker is rated 50A. There is no other appliances or lights connected to the 220 breaker in my building that the welder was hooked to but there were several other things running inside the building. There was “corrosion?” on the big boy breaker outside… the huge circuit breaker that power from the poles comes to first. Anyway, now the welder won’t even turn on… nothing. I hook my plasma cutter up to the power supply and seems to work fine. Power supply seems ok. Mini breaker on the welder allows power to pass through when switched on… I guess that means it’s ok too? Any help would be much appreciated. I dare not take it to a repair store and not know what’s wrong with it beforehand. Amazing welder other than this btw 🤗. I have a feeling it’s not even the welding machine’s fault that it’s broke. Oh the welder is like I said primeweld TIG 225 AC/DC P … not the newer version TIG 225X, but I’m like 80% sure the only difference there is the pedal it come with.
Fantastic video. Thank you so much. You are a great technician and teacher.
Thanks for the good tutorial - I am new to IGBT's so this helped understand how to test them.
Perfect tutorial.. very easy to understand 💌 THANK YOU VERY MUCH for sharing your knowledge ❤️
most likely the best igbt video out here. thx...
Thank you for taking the time to educate

I don't know what should I say... outstanding... fantastic.... Go ahead......
Great Job my friend !
Excellent explainable tutor
Thank you the best explanation
Very helpful video....thank u sir.
Like MOSFETs, it's usually the lower side one that's blown or short due to the back EMF from the inductive load.
Awesome!!! Perfect explanation 👏👏👏👏
Thank you
very helpful, it is appreciated job
good explanation sir
thanks for appreciable tips
Superb explain
Wonderful explain thank you very sir
Awesome video. Cheers bro.
Very helpful, thank sooo much
Priceless

Good work
Great video 😊
Thans sir. Very helpful.
TThe best explanation I ever seen for noobs.
Very good..nice job
GREAT INFO
Very nice!
Make sure no charge is on the gate if you test an IGBT. Thank you alot. I did not know that.
Very nice explication
nice explanation very clear sir keep it up. Ive learned something accurate and new
Very Helpfull video......
Good information Dear brother 👍👍👍❤👏
Thanks brodher 👍
Nice explain
Excellent!
Good job sir
fab video cheers
very informative
Best and complete video of testing an IGBT....don't need another video for this.......kudoos ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for your comment!
Nice!, Power element check out...Thanks for sharing
Good job..Thanks
Is this a DMOC Inverter Power Section? Thanks for the tip on how to test the igbt.
Thank you so much
good teacher
very nice explanation... thank you very much.
Lot of thanks
Thanx for sharing
Sir we could also kept the multimeter in continuity mode while checking between c and e? I think between e and g, it should be ohms , bet c and e should be in meg ohms and bet c and g also in meg ohms....is it right???
very good!!!!!
Thanks a lot 🙏
Gooooood job
thank you
So nice
Thank you
so the igbts your testing the same as using the igbt that resembles a mosfet?
Is that flyback diode connected in parallel to the CE or does it just represent a diode between CE?
Please tell me, when checking the device, my modules seem to be intact, but when testing with a lamp, they open with a positive bias on the shutter and the lamp ignites, and if you remove the bias, they immediately close without holding the collector-emitter transition in the open state, is this correct or not?
Good! Please make a video on 'how to check IC's and microcontrollers'.
Very good
Recently my machine filter capacitor 105k 630v burn which connect to IGBT.
8.25 charge G1 to E1 there is reading on C1 to E1 about 0.444. Once short there no reading.
When i do charge on G1 to E1pin. I can't get reading between C1 to E1.
Base on measure show 393 reading. After combine show 789.
My IGBT only shiw 270 and combine show about 528.
Im testing CM400DY-12nf
Its could be igbt faulty?
thanks
