Quite possibly the 1st time in history, millions of culturally & ethnically diverse people cheered in unison for the horrific death of a child! And I was one of them!!! 🥳
One thing everyone could agree on is that he deserved it.
As was I. I never thought I'd see the say and revel in the death of a child but this was satisfying.
People were happier to see Joffrey die than Adolf Hitler.

Mad props to Jack Gleeson for his portrayal of Joffrey. His acting made us hate the character so much, and that's the point. Well done sir.
Yep, and he quit acting because fans are so utterly stupid that they can't distinguish between a character and the actor who plays them. Which, ironically, is a testament to his acting.
@@SalvableRuin A lot of child stars have quit acting for a while and gone back to school, only to come back to acting later. There's part of me that hopes Jack will return to acting someday, but mainly I hope he does what makes him happy. Seen too many former child stars destroyed because they were unhappy with their lives.

@@jaideepshekhar4621 you missed the point of the books, a name is a name and it means nothing. he was born as a Baratheon and so were his siblings, so they are Baratheon's. you act like Stannis is a Baratheon too when he has just as much Targaryen blood as Jon does.

Honestly, the cinematography of King Joffrey's poisoned death was very well done. As a viewer, it felt satisfying.
I remember when I first saw Joffrey’s death. Some curses were said along with the phrase “die faster.” Several times.

After Joffrey's death I felt a sign of relief for the series but that was destroyed when I saw Ramsay Bolton
I was so happy when he died, but during the whole High Sparrow bullshit and Tommen just allowing it I kept thinking "damn, Joffrey would never let this go, he'd have all their heads on spikes within a week". Joffrey was not a loving guy by any means but he would never tolerate anyone taking HIS wife away without permission, that would have been their death sentence. I almost kind of missed him.

Some people lament that Joffrey's death was too short and unsatisfying, but I disagree. Being killed in such a humiliating way, throwing up all around, writhing on the floor like a half-squished cockroach, when you were at the height of your glory and petulance and pettiness during the most important day of your life in front of the whole court, is a pretty fitting end to me. Joffrey died like the little shit he was.
And keep in mind that those few seconds must have felt like an eternity to him. Poison is no joke

I've never seen a single episode of Game of Thrones. Apparently, this Joffrey character was universally hated by pretty much everyone if these reactions are any indication.
It's a testament to Jack Gleeson's acting that he made EVERYONE who watched this show happy to see his character die slowly. Easily one of the most hated villains in TV history.

When I first watched this episode of GoT, when it got to this particular scene, I remembered thinking "It's About Fucking Time, This Should've Happened In Season One"

I remember watching this episode for the first time. My mother was out cold as she was ailing. I was pretty much cheering, I read the books so I knew it was coming. Just so many cheers, jeers, and saying Christmas came early this year. My mother woke up later after the episode was over, since I DVR’d the series… I put the episode on for her, as she was really pissed about the Red Wedding. She too was getting a lot of pleasure from the ending. Though she was like not enough. She really liked the Starks.
I gotta admit that the second group of guys ( after Nikki & Steven)had the most enjoyable reaction..lol!!

Fwiw Jack Gleeson has some cool interviews online. In one he’s invited to Cambridge or some prestigious place. No doubt most attending went to live and breath part of the GoTs universe in person. There’s some of that. But what he actually delivers is a humble, wise-beyond-his-years talk on the perils of fame and discomfort with watching himself on screen. Very intelligent and to see the difference offscreen, a convincing actor. I think he goes onto say his future interest is in writing but no longer wants to act. I know this is suppose to be a basic concept (TV/movies aren’t real life) but the first time I saw him talking offscreen I was definitely thrown by the difference. I almost felt bad for euphorically cheering his gruesome death.
