Blake’s camera stare after Ig makes that comment about hoping none of the kids end up dying on their envoy trips to the north and to storms end That look served me exactly what I wanted
These season 1 re-reactions were so ooo much fun.. So like, Aemond is GOAT status and before he is completely condemned, yeah he is vindictive and wrong..in his vengeance arc, however, Daemon fueled and sang some woo woo weird magic lullabye dragon shit that he has been studying for years which caused the dragons to go "off book" if you will.. You can even see Aemond ye!ling at Vahghar (spelling?) and he panics and you can see he has lost control and the dragons are acting of their own accord.. Just my interpretation.. Can't freaking wait to do season 2 with da pack!! Xo
Daemon wasn't singing to Vhagar. Vhagar's ferocity is tied to Visenya's (?). It's more that Aemond is still a teenager and all that implies. HIs frontal lobe hasn't caught up with his body.
I would rate the first season of HOTD in comparison to GOT as follows (1 being best and 9 being worst) 1. Season 1 and 4 GOT 2. Season 3 GOT 3. Season 6 GOT and S1 HOTD 4. Season 2 GOT 5. Season 5 GOT 6. Season 7 GOT 7. 8. 9. Season 8 GOT
I can honestly say that I enjoyed this HotD season way more than the last 2 seasons of GoT. We got back to character studies and what really matters in storytelling. Cannot wait for the new season!
Otto wanted to be the first to get Aegon to manipulate him into killing Rhaenyra and her family, as he himself had suggested. Alisant, for her part, wanted to prevent this and therefore she thought of Amond so that Otto could not influence him. Bad for Alisant is that her son doesn't listen to her at all in the carriage. He is only interested in whether he is loved by her. So basically Otto gets what he wants even without his influence on Aegon.
So, House of the Dragon Season 1 covered a chapter and a half consisting of 56 pages in the first eight episodes. It was meant as a prologue to the Dance of the Dragons. Episode 9 and 10 and the rest of the story of the Dance will cover 178 pages. What happened at Storm's end is the first page of the second chapter. There will be no more time skips now.
So in Daemon's summary of dragons, he says the greens have 3 adults dragons yet later he says it's 13 to their 4 dragons. So the show is hinting at a young dragon on the green's side. The current 3 adult dragons are Sunfyre, Dreamfyre, and Vhagar. Just keep a look out for that person, either this season or next. ^_^
Teseerion 'The Blue Queen ' young she dragon belongs to... Dearon The Daring 4th child of King Viserys and queen Alicient ...The 4th dragon Prince Daemon mentioned here ... from Green faction
In the end, Alicent's misinterpretation of Viserys's words only matter in terms of Alicent and her character's choices. Because the coup was done deal, and they would have steamrolled her even if she stood by Rhaenyra.
👍👍👍The amount of work you put in to push these out in such a short time is AMAZING...thank you, and as always TEAM BLACK🖤🖤🖤...did you see the PR campaign with all the banners around the world? So over the top😊🎉🐉
They do not have source material for House of the Dragon. The books are basically an outline of what happens similar to how Game of Thrones ended. I think the whole series is like 50~ pages in the book? It's 99% written by the team. Corey is correct: it's all just peak. Both shows are great. Ending of GOT and all.
The Eriks were looking for Aegon for Otto so that Otto could whisper in Aegons ear that he needs to order the kings guard to secretly go murder Rhaenyra and Daemon, because the based guard said he wouldn't obey orders except from the King. Alicent wanted to tell Aegon to send terms to Rhaenyra and not go to war and murder them, so she sent Aemond and Criston to get Aegon for her.
The theme in episode 9 has the "Light of the Seven" embedded in it. Djawadi only breaks out the piano when shit is about to go down. First, in Season 6 episode 10 ( The Winds of Winter ) when Cersei blows up the Sept.Thats the first time a piano was ever used in the show. The second time was in Season 8 episode 3 ( The Long Night ). And now once again, the piano is playing a familiar theme. This episode has major ties to S6E10 and its so nicely done by Djawadi. Absolutely love his work. :) Also, I really liked the fact that Rhaenys didn't kneel when Rhaenyra was crowned. She haven't talked to the leader of her house ( her husband ) yet and she knows that its not her place to commit. That was really well done.
Yes, everybody misinterprets it as her being a "badass", but it's in line with the expectations of the medieval world, that she has to take her husband's consultation (not possible yet) and his side, which is what she did in the Throne Room.
Corey is so right, it's all peak. After I had seen the first 4 seasons of Game of thrones I thought nothing would ever be able to compare to it in terms of how invested I was and how much I loved it, but House of the Dragon has proven that wrong and I am so incredibly happy with it! I read the book and I am over the moon! Can't wait until we get to see season 2!!
So You Would Disrespect Your Mother All BC You Saw A Humongous Dragon, Knowing She Told You To Give A Clear Message, Especially When Rhaenyra/The Queen To Deliver A Direct Message
for Igli, alicent sent Criston Cole and aemond to get aegon and crown him first. otto hightower sent the twins before one of them change alliance to get aegon and otto gets to crown him first. both of them wanted aegon first, alicent wanted him to make sure he will not take Otto's advice and off rhaenyra and her household on dragonstone (bc alicent still cares) otto wanted aegon to convince him to off rhaenyra asap before word goes out that the king is dead and they be cautious
I kinda wish they had balanced the factions out a little more. So that the majority of folks don't just skew Team Black for season two. However, stories need their villain characters. This season wasn't perfect but it definitely gave much needed life back to GoT.
Daemon was singing a dragon song to Vermithor, last ridden by his grandfather Jaeharys(seen in ep 1 naming Viserys heir over Rhaenys). He learned the song from Jaeharys and assumed the dragon knew it. Quite a risk lmao, Daemon was going for it.
When Jaeheris announces Viserys will be next King, Viserys is standing next to a pregnant Aemma and Rhynera is 14 when Viserys announces she will be Queen,, how long between Jaeheris saying Viserys will king and dying I'm not sure
Daenerys's baby was stillborn because it was a dragon baby, like Rhaenyra's, not because of the witch. Dragon babies are a thing with the Targs, part of the price paid for having dragon blood.
When Rhaenyra gave birth in episode 10 they didn’t linger too long on the dead child. But in behind the scenes images you can see that the child had scale like looking skin, along with other deformities. The description in the book is very similar to the description that was given for Danearys’ dead son. And throughout the Targaryen history there are occasions of similar deformities in still births. It all plays into the belief that the bond between Targaryens and their dragons was created through some type of blood magic that resulted in the Targaryen having the actual blood of the dragon that they often refer to. And as a result there is some actual reason for all the Targaryen intermarriage in order to keep this potential in their bloodline, at least while the dragons lived.
29:32 that actually wasn’t the entire family there’s a third son of Viserys that’s currently being fostered in Oldtown with Otto’s family who we just haven’t seen in the show yet so if she did kill them all she would’ve been branded a kinslayer and then the greens would’ve put that son on the throne
That one dude seems to be jealous of Aemond's chin lol. Also say what you want about Criston but he literally worked hard to get to where he is in life. He's the best swordsman of his time.
the scene with rhaenys is one of the most stupid scenes in GoT History i don't know how anyone can be so hyped about someone killing hundreds of inocent people for nothing
The series started with Viserys ruling for 9 yrs. You had 6 months, 2 yrs, 10 years, 6 yrs time jumps. That adds to almost 28 years. Rhaenyra is around 14 years old when the series starts. So, by episode 10, she is around 42 years old.
@janeathome6643 lex, didn't account for the 9 years he was already ruling. I was talking about just the time jumps, lex 🤣🤣 The guys were trying to figure out how long Viserys ruled for. In the books, it is around 103 - 129 AC. In the show, it is almost 28 years (27 yrs 6 months). But they did get right the time the dance started - 129 AC. A few weeks or months for "the War of Ravens," and then "the Dance of Dragons" started when Prince Lucaerys and Arax died over shipbreakers bay (Storms End). The show is insinuating that Jaehyrys died almost immediately after the Great Council (101 AC), and the books put his death in 103 AC.
I love your videos but I hate how Blake and Corey are just silent when Igli is asking questions. Like I get that he’s trying to figure things out because it’s his first time watching it but you 2 have already seen them. But I get like awkward silence cringe when he asks something and the other 2 just don’t answer lol like you can answer his questions and interact with him a bit without fully giving Igli spoilers 😂
The realm easily accepts a male heir because it is tradition. They chose Vicerys over Rheanys because he is male. If his son had lived, he would have named him heir. He only named his daughter heir to spite Daemon. I recall Viserys saying Otto taught him how to be a king. That means he has been putting in work for a long time. He only fired him to please his daughter. As soon as he lost another hand he allowed Otto to be his hand again. Why not bring my house up if we are doing all the work anyway? Why should they just keep the throne warm for another when they already have control? His daughter has just been chilling and waiting for her dad to die! She flew the coop.
