How are they calling Rhaenyra promiscuous? From what i can tell Criston Cole was her first sexual partner. After that she was married to Laenor. And not to spoil anything, we know how the season goes. So Rhaenyra’s sexual partners can be counted on one hand. Weird how they slut shame her, but not the males in the show. Not to mention how they’ll react to Uber religious Allicent and her weird encounters later.
Its ironic that Alicent says that she's surprised Rhaenyra's children's dragon eggs hatched since they're only half of the blood of Old Valyria because her own children are only half Targaryen.
I think she means since they arent legitimate the gods would not agree on giving them dragons. In reality all her kids safe Daeron had to claim dragons but its seems dragon claimers have stronger dragons while those hatched have stronger bonds. After all Aegon, Visenya and Rhaenys the conquerors all had their dragons claimed not hatched to them.
I do think it’s interesting that men and women generally have different reactions and feelings toward Cristin Cole. I think that he was a key player in his own demise and didn’t want to take responsibility for his own shit. He essentially pleads with Rhaenyra to run away with him for his own honours sake. He can regret what he did for sure but the way he lays it all out on Rhaenyra is crazy. Definite incel energy.
Yea I agree. When guys watch this they think back to when a girl used them. They see themselves in Criston. lol So they don't really tend to look at the full picture.
Yeah that part never made any sense to me also considering lord corlys is one of the most powerful people in Westeros and it was his sons “friend” killed
Fun fact: the dragon laena rides is the one she was asking Viserys about when she was 10 & they went on that little stroll trying to get Viserys to marry her. I think it’s such a cool call back that she was SO invested in her and finally got her 😊😊😊
Surprise Sir Criston is a crazy incel. Point blank period. And life is not a Disney movie she wasn't going to stop being queen and run away with him. Rhaenyra didn't JUST fall for Daemon she's always liked him. She likes what she likes. She slept with Criston once and moved on. She didn't "use" him in a long term way. Nor did she ever lead him on. Also calling a girl who has had sex once promiscuous is insane.
Criston's reaction was probably due to a difference of interpretation of what was being said. Joffrey was intending it to be "Our paramours both have secrets, I've got your back and you've got mine", while Criston took it as a threat to expose his dishonor. He snapped and took out what he perceived as a threat.
No the Larys and feet's edit is crazy 😂. About Daemon and Viserys's ages: in the books they're only 4 years apart, but in show lore there's meant to be at least a 10 year gap (as stated by the first episode's original script). Also, these events take place in 126 AC (after the conquest), while in fire and blood they happen in 120 AC. So, Viserys is between 55 and 59 (I think 55-56) and Daemon, if his year of birth remains the same, is 45
At the time she brought up the duck/goose analogy, she thought her "duck" was going to be Ser Criston. That was before he rejected being the side piece in her open relationship.
I agree with Corey & Igli that Laena was such a cool character we just got to see this actress as her & she's killed off. I stand by that I wish we had 1 more episode to flesh out the characters of Laena & Harwin Strong. They both seemed very cool. For what little screen times the actors had they still made a good impression, I still was sad to see Laena go out but I think it would've had more impact with an additional episode being when they get killed off. I do think given the circumstances that was the best option for Laena she got to make the choice of how she went out, no one drugged her up on milk of the poppy and left her in the dark about what they were about to do (sidenote: I seriously do not trust Otto's buddy the maester who attended Aemma, very sus guy)
Criston Cole admits in that confrontation on the boat that he didn't actually want to run away with her because he loves her. He wants to elope to save his own image of himself. Not to mention that she's "used" him while being an impulsive teenage girl who isn't allowed to have friends....and he's a grown man that should have understood the limitations of their tryst. Not saying Rhaenyra is a saint by any means but i don't think she had any malicious intent and Criston hate crimed a guy's face off for a comment.
grins. Your sweet boo bear Criston is a hateful incel. And Alicent is conspiring with a guy who killed his own brother and father to please her. But hey, Daemon managed a ten year marriage without him killing his second wife. She did that herself through her dragon.
I love Princess Rhaenys. She cares so much for the king. Too bad he has let Otto ruin everything. The fact that he didn’t insist Allicent go change that green gown was weak. That Criston Cole was allowed to assault Laenor AND kill his lover, with no repercussions was moronic.
@@Marcus_1001 Mine as well; they are not perfect, but they are a splendid couple who are, together and separately, more loyal and trustworthy and charismatic than many of the other characters.
It's very interesting to see reactors accuse Otto of gaslighting and lying to Alicent about the looming succession crisis, even while other characters in the show also acknowledge the situation. Rhaenys, Corlys, Mellos, Jason Lannister -- lots of people in-universe understand that this isn't a settled matter, but viewers always seem to shrug it off or think of it as a scheme by Otto. But Otto is right: Most of Westeros would rather go to war than see a woman on the throne ahead of her brother.
Dude yes. I think the show did not do a good job of giving reasons to why Rhaenyra’s ascend would mean death to Alicent’s kids. People always come to the conclusion that Otto is just lying to Alicent. While he’s a snake, he’s not wrong. Even if all of Alicent’s sons give up their claim, one wrong move by Rhaenyra and any lord can use Aegon’s claim to start a war. They live in a patriarchal society and unfortunately, she has a very shaky claim at that.
I know they said that Laena was introduced in episode 6, but wasn't she the 12 year old that Viserys was considering marrying? She was also at the wedding where Daemon danced with her. Yes, different actress and more dialogue, but not her first introduction in the show.
