there are several different timings depending on the distance and direction the opponent ids facing. you schould go into the practise range and practise several different position: 1 your in their face with them facing you, 2 your about half a dash away of them with them facing you, 3 they face you and you are as far as possible of them while still being able to backstab them with one dash, 4 they do not face you and they are half a dash away, 5 they are not facing you and they are a full dash away. try to get all those timings right in the practice range. In games it is very important to take your time, do not panik, setup the right distance between you and your oponent and go for one of the backstabs you practised. don t try to be fast try to be consistent and with time you schould get the timing right. good luck !
@capten2728 can you do a video of you doing all these in the practice range? I was only able to deduce two timings, stab before and then dash if they're facing you and dash first and then stab if they're not facing you
if anyone viewed this without liking im gna assume they misslicked cuz this takes mad skill. ive been practicing knife since like day 3 of the game and its still a struggle alot to time the dash after hard knifing
@@Kalefromai true, but it changed quite a bit since this montage as backtabs are now more difficult to execute, although I really enjoy the new dagger. Check out my latest montage for the updated version:)
Spend some time in the practise range to understand and get consistent on the different combos, then take it into a game. whats very important is to not spam the backstab attack, you have to be patient with it, as you will mess up your combos if you use it too early. You will die alot and thats fine, be agressive and don't panic
0:46 Oof, no ammount of skill can save anyone from being robbed by inconsistancy... Also, some clips show you getting a hit on heavies backs but not insta-killing them, isn't dagger doing 350 damage (exact healthpool of heavy) on a backstab?
The backstab does 320 damage. So on full health heavies you need to follow up with a quick melee which you see him do here, but it hits one of the other enemies
Great video, but I'd like to note that the reason we aren't hearing their microphone during any of the clips is probably because yall flip out every time you get an akiba because its so inconsistent. Dash dagger is cool and flashy and is satisfying when you can actually pull it off, but it requires such specific circumstances to set up.. and let's be honest.. requires your opponents to have a certain level of idiocy to ALLOW you to approach uncloaked to even give you the chance to akiba. I'd personally rather stick to the slower pace style with cloak and dagger so that I can continue getting important picks for my team rather than trying to play the game like its a 1v3 all the time, it just doesn't work out like that 90% of the time.
You cannot hear my microphone because my recording software does not record my voice. furthermore I improved alot since that video and I can consistently akiba step so I win most of my 1v1s, cloak on the dagger might be fun but I believe it is unplayable in solo q ranked in hight silver + because of the lack of flexibility and the lack of carry potential. At the point of where I am now I get about 60% success rate on my akiba steps althought It is difficult to put a number on it. I will post a better video in the future showing me face against more skilled players in ranked and getting much better clips.
I don't like to spend money on ig cosmetics, The skin is awsome but i will not buy it. Furthemore on my main account I play at higher elo because I want the diamond rewards making the dagger unplayable with the sbmm
bro really out here being the spy

is it dash+dagger? because I tried the dagger and i have to hack at someone 4 or 5 times, but these are all one shot kills...
You have to right click to backstab, watch my guide, it explains how the mechanic works
