Seriously yeah, it's so fucking smooth. And it's largely to do with staying calm too, like I can do some fantastuc movement stuff on the practice map, but once I'm in actual combat, my skills drop by like 70% just due to panic.
my connection stability is really bad, because of it the delay between pressing dash and actually dashing is inconsistent and I often freeze like you could see in one of those clips. I lost so many ranked games because of that but it is what it is. I have never had the backstab animation getting stuck tho.
thanks, yeah lag really messes up the dagger. It creates alot of frustration when some games you just can't do anything and none of your backstabs hit beacause of the delay
@@capten272 i can feel that, hope you'll be able to play without lag. On a hundred hours played i've had only 4-5 games with low latency and it feels so much better. Shotgun hits actually hurt, going behing a wall protects you.. really makes you twice as efficient over lagging, with a melee weapon. That being said i have none of your dagger skills haha
Do you use the aim assist setting for melee weapons? What do you think about it? Personally, I noticed that in addition to the assist in keeping the sight on the enemy, it can physically pull your character model to the opponent.
Tbf my build is extremely weak compared to the already weak light meta builds but I don’t care about reaching diamond or being a top player. All i care about is enjoying myself and inspiring other player to pickup the dagger.
I suppose it’s worth to try. Honestly, I had some doubts about that weapon. Also dropped a vid containing random clips with throwing knives on the way to 100 hours.
Seems like the dagger behaves a bit strangely. I notice that you are right clicking while aiming at a player and it has some sort of lock on functionality, then by quickly dashing to a new position the game considers to be behind the player, the damage applies from behind counting as a back stab even from 10 feet away (a perfect example of this is the kill at 0:22). I like this play style. Seems fun, but it also seems like something that will likely be patched out once the devs realize the lockon is working this way. Good video Edit: i guess this movement that causes the long range back stab is called "Akiba step" in the community
the lock on is just aim assist that makes your flicks less controllable, being able to disable it would be a huge buff to the dagger. and the dagger is arguably the worst weapon in the game currently

if you know the matador stab from team fortress 2 its bassically the same but performed with a dash, after climbing up I pressed d to go to the right side of the heavy and bate him to turn his camera to the right and then I go to the backstab while dashing to the left, I bassically bated him to get to his back. check out my newest video at 2:10 you will see me perform the exact same stab but its a bit more visual
extremely impressive. As a console player I can not understand how to get the dagger to work. unless you are DIRECTLY behind the enemy it seems to miss the backstab box. like lots of clips in this video, any hit on their shoulder or side doesnt count as a backstab and only does 10% damage
I own both Lvl6 Polyatomic Sword and Knife using all tricks for dash. Its like comparing the Best and Shttiest weapon involved. Sword does the daggers job but better and faster. LH1
I would wish they would at least give you a movement speed buff while holding it as it would make for crazier movement, and fix all the issues. it schould not be as strong as any other weapon as its a oneshot but it schould not be several tiers behind the seccond worst weapon as it currently is
How in the sweet sweet fuck is this possible? The backstab felt so incredibly unreliable even in the range. To be able to consistently pull it off against real enemies is insane to me, has it been buffed somehow recently?
@@yaboyparallsl yeah its fine but a little outdated, what’s important is getting a good cpu because that’s what the finals needs. 90 fps is playable but not very enjoyable thats why i say my setups is not great
I feel like this is an exploit and I don't see how you could stop someone from doing this except a taser maybe. Have you seen anyone come up with a good counter to it?
100 things: do 180s, stand in the corner of a room when you spot the light, position yourself in a way that the light has to traverse open spaces to get to you, hit your shots when he attacks you. shoot your rpg at your feet, jump around because the dagger has built in aim assist that will throw of the user (no way to turn it off). stay with your team, don t get caught off alone and many more. The sword does what the dagger does 1000 times better, the dagger is just a flashy way to outplay your opponents.
@@capten272 as far as im aware after playing like hell, the dagger has too tight of a hit box i figured they nerfed it because your footage and someone else's shows way too lenient of a hit box on the back. while i was playing all last week, i got robbed of numerous very clear backstabs, so i am convinced your footage is pre-nerf
