From dagger player to dagger player this guide was great, you covered pretty much all the bases in great detail. Players with integrity are a dying breed and hopefully this video will persuade the meta abusers to grow a spine and try something actually challenging.
I agree, I am 100% dagger player as well. Waiting for next level 8 to be unlocked. I use evade, vanish, gas bomb, breach charge. Hope to encounter you/others, this game is awesome
Great guide. I'm a heavy player and see infinite potential in learning to play a different style with sword/dagger. Huge respect to people who stick with light and get good with it.
Super informative guide, even while having many hours on dagger. Cannot recommend this guide enough, as it covers literally every aspect of making a niche play style work. Thank you so much for elaborating backstab mechanics. I come from Team Fortress 2 roots where the game engine processes stabs based on your mouse placement rather than your body position (The Finals), so I found myself constantly whiffing stabs I felt should’ve hit. I’ve done a few games since watching and I already have a much better grasp of the weapon and play style. Excited to see what future content you make, definitely sticking around. ❤️
would love to see some full gameplay footage (ranked if possible) to see how you play all stages of the game (neutral, attacking and defense) I would also like to see some of the struggles with dagger only and how you play specific situations.
I've been mostly playing throwing knives and keeping this and the pistol in my pocket...I think I'm gonna shelf the pistol and start only using dagger & throwing knives soon. Gonna be a lot of work to get consistently good, but I think it'll be worth it for in the end. Thanks for this; gonna be a BIG help. 😁🔪
I found that the backstab almost operates at 90bpm (beats per minute), so when you click the stab happens on the next beep. Using a metronome helped me time me dashes before the stab went off while practicing. Still haven't tried it in a game yet. Almost have the red knife without any of these tips or skills. Wish me luck!
Day three of practicing dagger: Got red skin. Check. I know saving the stun is great for light 1v1s, but I found that when people turn to face you while stunned it sets up a good dash-stab practice. The rest of it comes down to my terrible positioning and rotations. Still having a blast.
@@lethal_lime6644 How to say you have no idea what ur talking about without actually saying it. Just admit you can't handle the skill gap and move on buddy. Sword and dagger are completely different weapons with different playstyles.
When turning to track hyper mediums who r very jumpy and rotates my dash does in crazy direction so i can't quite track them to get backstabs. Also there is a slight input delay for dash so u have to predict where they will be when they r rotating so i can't quite get the angle right. U think u can demonstrate what to do as i have seen other vids do crazy movement and still get consistent backstabs its crazy.
A weapon that has insane potential, but is basically impossible to use. A really njce and comprehensive guide. I also wonder, do you use dagger competitively?
thank you, I do try to climb with it. Reaching plat schould not be an issue as I currently play in gold but I do not know if I want to grind to diamond. Furthermore I do not use mini nukes or any other weapons on my dagger only account as it would not represent my dagger skill so some maps and matchups are bordeling impossible to perform well on.
in regards to the last point, is there no solution for the dagger aim assist? I find it to be very annoying and irritating with mnk. Is there a workaround, or a way to disable it somehow?
Unfortunately there is nothing you can do, i had hoped they would fix it in season 2 but dagger has received no changes( at least from what I know, I have not played season 2 yet). The aim assist was also the main reason I had not played the dagger anymore the last weeks of season 1 as the better you get the more noticeable and frustrating it becomes.
@capten2728 ah man my bad. I was curious about the dagger but the audio was bad enough that I felt I had to just leave the video. No offense, just hopefully helpful criticism
This dude sounds like a 1930's making a recording about a case hes working on 😂
lmao, and my mic also does this weird bloop sound. But i believe its quite informative compared to the "higher quality mic" guides out there

Rarely has a 1930s radio podcast been so informative, thanks for the guide!
(I genuinely like the way it sounds)

Thank you so much for this guide ! Love your playstyle, you're the most impressive guy I saw using dagger keep up the good work !
man it requires hell lot of practice, really hard to get backstabs :(..... but once you get to use of it ... none can stop :)

you are one of the most cracked dagger player i have ever seen thx for the tutorial all the others say to run invis for some reason
This man redifined the previously useless dagger
Love it. Precise exolaining if the technic without to much depth
Solid guide, was trying to figure out the tech for the dash
i already have max dagger and use these but i still loved the video

Merci pour le guide, ça me donne envie de jouer la dague tellement ça a l’air satisfaisant.
One of the most underrated weapon… probably because of the skill gap.
No it’s just bad. Bad but fun. Sword is just a better dagger.
Fair

do bunny hops work better than jump slides on jump pad landings?
I am pretty sure bunnyhoping will get you way further, especially when the low gravity event is on
how do you remove aim assist from melees?
you can't

Bien vu le boss pour le tuto. Mais la masse du heavy sera toujours supérieur 🐢💪🏻
Is it possible to turn off the aim assist or would that make it worse?
hello! I saw your yt in game and I even added u, you might remember me. I probably got killed with ur strategy a few times. Nice work man!!!

What also causes problems is the step forward you take when locking onto a target so keep that in mind when going for backstabs
I dont mind the way the mic sounds and all, just that pop sound is annoying, but nice video
Yeah, idk what causes it. But I am not intending on uploading a vid with mic anytime soon so it is not worth upgrading
can you share some full gameplays on youtube as well?
I might do that at some point
