Tbh after watching some of your videos I got decently good with the throwing knives and now with this combos I'm even better. Another thing I appreciate you making this videos I also really like your editing it's unique in my opinion❤❤
I've been using throwing knives since the buff and this video saved me after an embarrasing few days of not understanding the playstyle. Great stuff man!
So i started using these bad boys after seeing you melt people with them, keep up the good work man. Here from the start,do remember me once u get big ❤.
What about a quality of life change to right click, where it still has a charge up time, but you can hold it as long as you want, instead of it auto shooting after however long as it currently does?
Yeah that would be nice, but I think part of the "hard" part with the knives is that timing. I really enjoy having to time my throw since it feels like another layer of skill, so I wouldn't want that removed. IMO
@@tyft0n fair enough! Watching you play with knives does make me want to try it but every time I do I just get destroyed (skill issue). I feel like I just need to accept the pain and get gud.
It really depends, I would try to headshot if I am in a fair duel since you most likely will lose if you don't land 1 to the head against a medium, for example. Against heavy just hit body. Against light you can execute with a left where 1 hits the head and 1 hits the body. Try to kill as fast as you can because otherwise you are locking away a ton of potential if that makes sense. It is situational because sometimes you just need to finish a kill with some body shots. Hope this helps.
If anyone is having trouble using Q as key bind for the dash, I'm using scroll wheel up on the mouse and its been feeling fantastic. A side benefit is that you can "ping" if you scroll/ click mmb on the enemy while you rotate around them backwards :)
With the dash ability being so dependent on careful keystrokes it is understandable. I usually run grappling hook so i don't need that precise key strokes as grappling requires more crosshair placement. honestly comes down to playstyle preference.
So was fooling around with animation cancelling techs with the knives since I'm pretty happy with where I've gotten my sword to. Like you've observed, there's 0 time gained by using animation cancelling with the knives, it's kinda frustrating(coming from sword which gains a lot) that it doesn't matter how frame perfect you are, knives will not come out any faster than the default animation no matter how I was cancelling or leading into the cancel(Quick melee or gadget swap). HOWEVER, there's a lot less visual clutter using the gadget swap animation cancel. Plus you can do it on frame one of the knives. It's kinda funny just running around looking like I'm not throwing anything and knives spewing out of me.
I think the travel speed of the knives would be a solid buff. Not fast enough to be nearly hitscan but enough to land when aiming directly point blank . Its pretty frustrating being so close yet missing because they didn't travel fast enough. I don't think i should have to aim so ahead at such a close range. (I might be tripping tho) At the same time, i can see that being a little too strong because that really would make them a lot easier to use hence my use of the word "buff". While it frustrates me missing so close, i can already feel how strong they would be if they traveled even a little faster. These seem like a difficult weapon to balance or even adjust slightly because they'll either become broken or useless. So even as someone who has almost strictly mained knives, i find myself conflicted on how the weapon could be improved without becoming disgusting. Even the most requested buff of being able to hold the alt fire would make this weapon a bit too strong because it takes away a lot of the timing aspect and would reduce the skill gap quite a bit which is probably the most rewarding part of getting good with them. Still I do think it should be slightly adjusted, but Rather than being able to hold it i think speeding up the animation by like 1.5 seconds at MOST would be more than enough. 100% tho, jump affecting the spread of the knives should be removed.
I 100% agree! I know how you feel, which is why I also said that any changes may make them way to strong for a while. But the opposite is also true, they may be completely useless if they change them in a nerf way so its hard to touch them rn. I am honestly okay with how they are now. Explaining a little more on how I want the air inaccuracy changed, I would love to see forces get applied to the knives in a consistent manor making it a more skillful "inaccuracy". So if you jump pad then the knife should fly high into the air, whereas if you are falling, seeing the knives drop at a similar rate as the player would add another layer of complexity and honestly make it feel more fair. Lmk what you think
@@tyft0n i would like to see that applied to the knives. Adding momentum to them based on your movement sounds pretty crazy tho and would probably take some relearning. But it sounds fun. A lot of times when i dash i always think to myself that it would be cool, for example, if throwing the knives while dashing forward would increase the speed and range because it kinda just makes sense. That would probably need a whole rework so i feel like sadly we probably wont be getting something like that.
Yes that would be correct. Although, the most recent update has reduced the inaccuracy, so it is more reliable now. close = good enough, mid = sketchy, far = bad
I am at around 50 in-game hours with throwing knives. I would say maybe 30-40 hours I started to see myself hitting most knives. I don't really know where to draw a line at "decent" thou.
Lmao, I would definitely not say simp! I just really liked how they changed him into a more impactful character in the eva movies vs the tv show. He is just another reason for shinji to lose his mind lol. Also do you recognize what this image is from? I took a screenshot from the movie and added some graphics but uh something goes boom in the next frame!

Thank you, I am really glad you enjoy my videos and were able to learn something from them!
Love the edit for the right click from jump pad lmaoo thanks for making the guide, love your vids! Keep it up :)
Thanks glad you enjoyed the edit :D

I am glad you found it helpful! Thank you for letting me know.
you are extremely underrated bro ur editing is so clean, loving the videos lately keep it up!

ofc, especially if you comment frequently I will recognize your pfp or username ;D
Awesome info man, youre one of the ninjas that inspired me to try light with knives, and ive never had more fun. Keep it up!

@@davidgillham5302 trust me, all my games are not sunshine and roses haha. It takes a little time and dedication, but it is always rewarding!
While it would allow for easier use, it's definitely nice to have that skill check and have to time it
@tyft0n the dps is dogshit, consider how hard it is to use.
just found ur account! love ur videos and editing man
Thank you! I also suck with intros, I need to script everything that is not a gameplay clip. I also tend to s-s-stutter so I edit the audio too XD
good video. also its crazy how a game in S1 has better cosmetics & battlepass than pretty much every game out right now lol. those cards look sick
I love them so much. It's a problem, honestly.
How about adding some limited wall-running for throwing knives and daggar? Would be such a rad buff imo
That is interesting, I am sure the heavy stans would complain so much lmaooo. Would be fun thou!
Nice video. Do you stream?
I dont, but I will soon! When I start streaming I will announce it in a video.
Is it better to go for head shots when using light attack or are body’s better

Good shout!
Melee as a scroll up is also highly effective
@@rustyman1998 I almost put it on melee prior to running light with knives. Somewhere on mouse though makes dashes in all directions smooth like butta

grapple with knives sounds fun! might have to try it@@rustyman1998
nice one very nice love the vids keep it up ❤❤
The cards are an skin of the throwing knives?
yep yep, they were free in the s1 battlepass. One of the best skins.
@@tyft0n i want them🤧

I guess what you are trying to day is the predictability of where your knives will go depending on your direction for better accuracy rather than RNG

how long did it take you to get decent with the knives?

Tip for cloak with knives: If you right-click and then cloak, when the knives get thrown you will stay cloaked
You can go invisible as soon as you start the heavy throw and will stay invisible even after you throw them. Pretty checky
Yeah it is some cool tech
Bro i like you Videos make More dude 😂
