I was using eMaster for a while and it was ok but the annual sub was the same as LANDR's however with LANDR you get soooooo many extras and the adjusting after processing that LANDR provides really sold it for me. I know where I want to go, but not always how to get there. This helps build the bridge by allowing my ears to take the wheel on cruise control. Plus, HMD hasn't steered me wrong yet, so I KNOW if Devvon is doing a video, he sees the value in it, and that's like BBB A+ in my book
I feel like you can do the same thing with a really food flue compressor like the UA 33609 or the G series compressor from waves. for compression. And for saturation to add that warmth you can always go with a tape emulation plugin.
Just keep in mind, the quality of LANDR mastering is highly dependent on the quality of the fed source, so a clean mix will provide an instant clean master, but if you send in a muddy mix it does not magically save it.
Thanks for that tip. Reminds me of when I edit video or photos using LUTS - another feature that has to be met halfway or you'll get crap results. (I'll learn how to mix before I invest this much into the software).
Thanks for the helpful video. I just started using last night and the loudness knob was a bit confusing. I was using it on full mixes and then mixing down. The results seemed odd, all my waveforms became huge losing the dynamics--but i figure maybe dial back the compression knob. Maybe and probably it works better on a stereo track.
Thank you bro. Im thinking about getting this. Im been trying to learn to mix and master my music on my own and I feel like Im rushing to learn just to release my music. I don't want to rush the learning process. Maybe this will help. You really went into detail and it helped me to make a decision #TheRevolutionIsHere
Should the ceiling on my limiter be -1.-dB? I know that's recommend for streaming but I when I watch a tutorial I never see anyone do this? I always see -0.3dB or 0-.5dB.
@helpmedevvon question, why not make your plugin available for iPad Os? Both Mac and IPad OS can read AU/AU3. What app development challenges would it be? Seems like money left on the table
If you've already exported your song and you no longer have the project file. Are you able to open the MP3 in your DAW And then still use this plugin with the same effect?
Bro. You know people were going to skip that part when you stopped the video. I started to skip and you said, "ok don't skip, don't skip", I started dying laughing !!! Funny mf'er !!!! 😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂🤣😂😂
Masterplan 1.5 kills this plugin so hard and is so much affordable. Also way to many knobs on this plugin to mess up your mix. These plugins must be made with the thought that many bedroom producers can deliver a pretty damn god master without all the knowledge you need to know. Someone who knows what he is doing already had his set up ready. I don't know which market landr want to reach. This tool is for beginning or novice producers a living hell, with too much options to choose from and play with. Beginners can even get good masters by just only using sausage fattner on the main bus and crank the volume up. Only 2 knobs and you got already a full sounding pumped up track. That's why masterplan 1.5 is beating the hell out of this pluging as it has a few smart knobs to make mastering your track better. Especially with the wide option. I tried this landr plugin. It tends to give you options to ruin your pre master quickly. Compared it both with masterplan and it kicks land in the butt with easy sound manipulation and price wise.
Hey Devvon, I downloaded this plugin today with the trial so that I could walk through the steps and ideas as you explained them. Immediately my computer started bugging out because of how much processing power this thing needs, my DAW said it was producing 180MS of delay and when I played it back it just was incredibly choppy and not coherent. Any suggestions other than getting a new computer with more processing power?
Everytime i use a mastering plugin it always seems to make things to loud even after ive lowered my volume levels. So i just stopped using mastering plugins. I dnt exactly know what im doing wrong.
@@Wurldzonly thing with your suggestions that might be misleading is the reference tracks from industry songs are already mastered..there will not be an accurate volume displayed to reference just a mix with. He needs to use those to reference his master not the mix.
AI is not here to stay… It’s here to takeover and I’m not mad at that. This sounds 🔥 although that is bcoz you’ve already bodied the Mix @DevvonTerrell👌🏽… That said, I’m interested in giving this plugin a go - Great video, great explanation and as always quality content provided 💯🔥
I would just try and get what Devvon actually uses... Which to my knowledge is "Master Plan" by Samuel Fischmann - However, it's often times very confusing because they guys talk so fast and BRIEFLY touch on stuff because Devvon gets interrupted mid sentence.... But to my knowledge he uses Master Plan in conjunction with The God Particle but has the God Particle limiter turned off. - The techniques they use seem to change ALL THE TIME though... - Somewhere in there though he's also using BlackBox and BB Tubes ect. aswell though so. You really kinda gotta binge watch and keep up with them
Man, I get you need to make your bread with content and whatnot, but why recommend a plugin you probably don't use yourself? A new video on your mastering chain or your full mastering process would be so much helpful than this... I used to love your channel and how informative it was and now I just watch your podcast (which is amazing btw) but I really miss the free high quality educational content you used to make back in the day...
Wouldn’t go as far as to say he’s changed his content nor the integrity of it, as he states in the video this plugin would be a great help to beginners to mastering like myself, and serve as a great reference plugin to seasoned engineers. Pretty much an amazing tool
@@5ision I think it would be MUCH more helpful to a beginner for him to show a mastering chain and his process if they want to learn about mixing. This is basically a plug-in review. And all the cool stuff from his channel is now behind a pay wall
Education is a wide spectrum, especially when it comes to audio and new software coming out. It’s not a bad thing for him to share something that’s new
What a waste of a plugin just like the one that I tried a few days ago called "Master Plan". Mastering comes from a good mix. Again if the mix is shit, the mastering won't do any justice. It will just make a bad mix in to an even worse master. You, yourself create the master when you mix your pieces of idea in to one. That mixing of sounds is like mixing ingredients to make a cake. As the baker, you don't go off telling someone else to just add the sugar and it is done. If that was the case, then how much sugar would be enough to finish off the cake. Would that mean that because one person adds 1 gram of sugar I should add 1 gram of sugar as well? There is no such thing as a mastering phase really. The master is the finished product of the mix, not another step in the process. People just made it another step in the production process because they leave headroom for someone else to polish off what you almost have completed yourself. During "Mastering" you are just asking for a second opinion basically. Hence why these plugins are garbage. There is no specific Master's for genres. Whoever buys in to this shit is buying in to thinking this is the quick fix to an specific genre.

I would try inceasing the buffer size in the daw
Say Devon, is it CPU heavy?
Is this plugin better than "The God Particle" by Cradle?
Nobody's talking about placing this on beats to master them? Can that work?
Mastering beats is a pretty bad idea, that’s for the engineer to do around the vocal, not for the producer to do before hand
Hmmm ok. If I were to get this, I’ll still use my black box for saturation
300$ Is a NO NO to me, LANDR people just missed the oportunity to make a million dollars. 😅
$150 is currently the full year subscription for all LANDR services, and they are a lot and well worth it. Check the page.
