We are Rome now!". At least the Eastern Roman Empire was a follow up to Rome and had the Greek peoples has a majority, which helps back their claim up.
^ To be honest, unlike Byzantium, I never see the Ottoman Empire as a descendant of the Romans in any way, shape or form apart from them conquering Constantinople, but that still doesn't prove anything since they're both just way too different.

There is a connection to Galicia though, Galicia used to be part of Portugal.
But in a war with Spain, the King was captured (I think it was the first king, D. Afonso Henriques) and the ransom was the Duchy of Galicia.

Hi there, random spanish guy here. That flag is pretty similar to the Galician flag (a region from Spain), and that's because way before Spain was created Portugal and Galicia were a kingdom.
