3674 size motor fits in there very comfortably. is a little hard to find them in a KV above 3,000. will probably want a set of 5mm 32p pinions and maybe even pick up a 50 and 55 tooth 0.8mod spur. ARA311103 and ARA311112. since there is not much wiggle room to adjust the motors for pinion gears you may find a need to switch both gear sizes. That said it's a tight fit but a Traxxas VXL will fit in there too, as long as the wires are facing the axles. VXL is a 3656 can size and is uncomfortably tight so if you're motor shopping I'd look for 36diam 60+length sized motors. Also definitely worth it getting a 40mm fan bolted to the provided mount. hope that info helps someone out there lol.
Thanks for the helpful tips. This one I put on is a 3660. I should’ve gone with a 15T pinion. I do want to get a fan for the motor since they made that mount for it right on the chassis.
Dude this really helped a lot! Many thanks, I’ve had mine for a while now and somehow none of the motor mount threads has stripped, it meshes with the one mount and runs fine but a little knock or jump and the pinion tends to slip. I’m now researching a brushless upgrade and your info summarises in a clear and easy to understand way. Also the pitch of the gears is info that not even many RC channels would mention or advise on when upgrading. I will only be running on 2s really and need to try and find the combo that will give me the most return on 2s. So far what I’ve seen suggests the copperheadn10. I can’t spend £219 though, if there is any combo that you could suggest that would be an improvement on the stock brushed speed, It would also be a big help! Many thanks dude!
The Granite wheelie bar fits the GORGON. Mine is still stock running a 7.6 volt 2s lipo.. with the wheelie bar it's way better.. - confirmed 👌. Nice set up by the way. This trucks drives amazing

@@jameswisecarver yeah 15t is probably the best way to go. I run 3S and there’s a lot of wheel spin. The 15t would definitely slow that wheel spin down a little.

I like it! That’s the esc I run the one you want. Fast good for stunting and stays cool because the truck is so light and I mounted a fan! Check my videos out on this truck you’ll like them!
@@t3floz thanks. I highly doubt it. The motors most likely aren’t going to match up to the motor mount. This is a 1/10 and is much bigger than any 1/16 scale motor could handle too.
I’m confused as to where you see the same colors connected to each other later in the video. The way they’re connected when I installed the motor is the way they are now. I never changed them since I installed the motor. The reason the colors don’t match is because the motor rotation was reversed. So when I throttled forward it went in reverse. So if you switch 2 of the connections it will change the motor rotation.
I really want one of these,i was put off by the factory performance, but seeing what YOU did I'm getting one.

@@EireFirst2024 it rips now and is awesome. Box stock is not a lot of fun. The Gorgon is great though and it really is ARRMA tough.

I think the lower kv was giving you all that punch or torque. Higher Kv gives more wheel speed less torque.
Pinion need be the other way round as for some reason it hits the plastic

It is if you put this same brushless motor on. The stock pinion will not fit this motor.
