- This is the current walk through of the Vanagon and the changes I’ve made since I bought it. There are still many upgrades coming and a bunch of fun to be had here in Alaska.

Always liked those vans. Would be cool to have one myself. Safe travels always
They are great but a lot of work sometimes. Thanks for watching
Great van, I have 81 with Subaru 2.2 is great done by small car in Fife Wa, but was wondering what frig you have.
It’s the Engel 45 fridge/freezer it works great and sips power
Great videos - to the point, and not over-edited with annoying music!
Thanks for the comment and for watching
Your going to some great things to your Syncro, & I want to do.
I’m in Australia, & our exchange rate is crap with the USA.
Just wondering do you get light into your windscreen from the light bar ?
Greetings from Alaska. I do get a little light down from the light bar onto the windshield/windscreen and the front of the dash but have found as long as there isn’t anything on the dash it doesn’t obstruct my view
Thank you for that
Thanks for the video.
I’ve got a syncro as well as a Joker, which I put in the Boxeer 2.0. Highly recommend.
My question is what wheels are you using? And what size are they? Thanks!
Boxeer 2.0 is the end goal for my Syncro love Greg’s conversion. Did you do any gear swap in your trans?
The wheels are 16” Carrots and where on put on before I purchased it they are nice wheels and are easy to clean. Thanks for watching
No gear swap but it handles well. Low gears really kick and even though I get into top gear at around 70km it accelerates beautifully and can get up to 140-150( I have just pushed it to test)without stress and can pass with ease on the highway.
Great mileage.
The only issue is the height of the engine. I had to weld a casing almost 4 inches high and it really makes the bed uncomfortable. Still very much worth it!
@kevinfumerton2634 great to know the fuel mileage, power and reliability are what I’m looking for. Living in Alaska everything is hours apart and I want to travel all over the US also
You ever tried a new ECU for that vanagon syndrome?
I have not but the original owner said they changed it multiple times with no real change in its behavior.
Why does everyone like those bumpers? Aren't they super heavy?
Well built in my opinion and very durable
what kind of light bar and brackets
The lightbar brackets are built by Dave at Vanagon Life and the light bar is a curved 52” quad stack off of Amazon they have a constant shuffle of who has what on there so you’ll have to find the one you want
thanks brother
