Being a Volkswagen guy, I also prefer the Vanagon adventures. The Sprinter is a beauty but there's just something more nostalgic when you're doing an adventure in a 30 plus year old, classic VW. Everytime I get in my 1967 VW bug and do my errands, it takes me back to a much simpler, slower pace and time. I always enjoy the cooking parts of your video's. This one was perfect as I remember as a kid in the 1970's camping in the desert east of San Diego. After a day of dune buggies and dirt bikes, The food always tastes better being cooked over a campfire in the desert.
Great videos Chad! Always wondered if you ever had anything weird happen during all these trips. Being out there alone in the wilderness. Maybe you should make a video on that.

Also hanging on for years now and still love your simple lonely offgrid trips, espcacially secluded from the world in the desert. In my imagination I join you with a glas of wine or whiskey after meal enjoying absolute silence
I think a welcome addition to products you can sell on your van life site would be a Chads Van Life book of recipes. Of course the suggestion of a good shot of classic quality whiskey might even be included

Hey Chad, you are “the original” inspiration for me considering van life for the best part of my life to come! My first car was a ‘73 type 181 Thing! Have owned 3 VW Rabbits. 2 diesels 1 gas. Have dared to dream about a Westfalia for stupid number of years. I am 60 yrs old with retirement coming up. LOTS to think about! I can smell your VW! Not being weird or creepy. VW’s just have that smell! At least the ones from my era. Bugs, rabbits, vans they all have that VW smell. I have heavily thought about sprinter but cannot escape my lust for diesel westy. OMG. In the end, my friend, we all just want to come home. Is the westy too small?…Yes..and no!! Me and my adopted pitty would be perfectly fine. Example 25:54 - In this sequence or similar kinds of sequences, what if a second mic were set up further from you capturing the ambience and mix that in, in doses, to different cuts. As I am watching you cook, I do love the sounds. I also noticed faint ambience what sounds like crickets or such, as I turn my bluetooth earbuds up. Is that something content creators do? I wonder what it would vibe like with like a very high sensitivity mic set up far away that is capturing all the tiny sounds, wind, crickets. Because of the immersive nature of your content (literally my first video im watching of yours) but I just wonder how much more immersive it could be with the rich ambience captured as well. I wonder if there's even a camera that allows a 2nd wireless mic source to be connected.

Between me and my ex girlfriend I think we have been through about five different Vanagons. All of them reflect some of the best times I've ever had in my life. Our entire relationship was based on getting on the road! The last one we had was super nice with a Subaru engine conversion and we sold it for $32,000! 😂 talk about a cult following! It's also fun to be driving down the road or even driving down the freeway and you see a Vanagon going the other direction and they have their arm out the window waving at you!
We live in the desert on our own property inside a converted bus. There is something about the solitude of the desert that draws you out here. It's peaceful and beautiful. We live about an hour from Vegas, and when we want to have some fun, there's so many places to go , but it's nice to be able to escape the big city. Damn, that is a nice Bluetti setup. I would love to get the power station. We have a great solar setup, but in the winter, when it rains for several days, we often lose power at night, and I'd love to get a Bluetti like that.
