Yes, it sounds amazing. I'm currently playing this song in 8th grade orchestra and the 16th notes would be my favorite part as I am on cello so I don't usually get fast notes like this. It's a pretty easy song though.
I totally agree!! I'm principle cellist at my school and were playing this and its so much fun. I just wish the violinists could play up to tempo but we haven't been working on the piece for very long so hopefully they will
I am a Viola in 8th grade and we're learning this. We've been practicing since November and I absolutely love this song. It was very easy to learn and we play it much faster. The Violas has a playing test on this song from measures 73-90 and that was my favorite section minus 120 to the end. This is a great song!
I'm currently a violist in 8th grade, and I have the exact same opinion. I love this song and it is very easy to play. We have a playing test soon for the song (don't know which measure tho)
I was in this advanced orchestra when I played it and we where expected to learn it in a week because the concert was the next week. So we had to do 6 hour rehearsals which surprised me because it was a school district program (Nevada schools are terrible) that we where doing it for. It actually got pretty good which surprised me and it wasn't our hardest song so I got it allot better than with the other songs and the speed was only hard on the second half of the song but even then it wasn't too bad and it was actually fun to play. I play Cello because its awesome (Viola's are great too)!
+Charley Parsons umm same but I'm a 6th grader auditioning for contest with 7th graders and this is one of the songs I need to learn I go to hms do u?...
It's difficult for me to play the sixteenth notes cleanly because my class plays it like 3 times this speed to the point where it's like tremolo bowing >:(
PoptartPC the best you can do is make sure to keep the movement in your wrist and not your arm! Make sure to stay in the upper half or middle of the bow! You’ve got this I believe in you !
Fuck Off What how?? Also as a bass player, I absolutely hate this song. It’s the same rhythms over and over and over... try idylls of Pegasus or incantations for some real fun.
@@shyshy313245 I love hearing how we all join together in this madness of a piece. We add a sort of stability and the repetition that the audience can grab onto.
bassist here- this piece is an absolute joy to play. I feel as though it gives every part a chance to shine-- violin players have a space to shine, viola players have a place to shine, cellists kind of own the piece, and bassists do too by owning the rhythm as we usually do, but with our occasional parts where we have a melody.
well I've been a violist for four years and I just got this. right now I have issues but the again there's only 15 people in my orchestra and last year it was 7
AkwadGaming YT Depends how much you set your mind to an instrument. I've been playing for 3 years and I just got this lol, but for Piano I'm much, much better at.
I play the bass and we played this for our UIL ting and it was way cooler playing it in person because it gives you such a rush it’ll make you wanna tap your feet through the whole thing
When I was in high school we played this for our I think UIL and we won sweepstakes which was amazing bc I started my high school career with sweepstakes and ended with sweepstakes so proud of class of ‘22!
2:24 at measure 144 my conductor straight up whacked our stand and made it do a full 180 during our time to "compete" while conducting that ff. Even with that, we were still the first group all day to get straight ones, which is the highest score. Must've been the bananas she fed us before. Yes, she brought bananas for us. I love her.
Im a 1st violin in 8th grade, and i love this piece, learning it, hearing it, playing it, everything is just so great! However, the number of rests surprised me lol
This piece almost reminds me of an etude, due to how there are repeating patterns and phrases. Also, it has the Baroque Style feel with the D minor key, too!
This looked very hard at first but then when you actually see the music in front of you it’s really easy. It’s pretty much the same note over agin twice
It sounds so good when other people play this but when my 8th grade orchestra plays this it sounds absolute crap.💩 But we are doing good we still have 3 more months of rehersal.
We're playing this in orchestra and all I can say is how do you play the first violin part so fast? Whenever I try my fingers feel like they're going to fall off
+Rose Galaxy I felt the same way when I first say this but now that I have it almost memorized (Lots of practice) I can play it a bit faster and it's so fun!
Bro is it me (I’m a violist revisiting this piece) or they skipped like 73-79 like I was trying to play with this video and the melodies don’t match the cellos
We’ve had this song for quite some time now , I really hate it (first violinist here) but I hope this is another song I can come look back on and play without any mistakes.
Bro im a freshman rn and theirs only 2 violas me and a senior so its like hella hard for me to keep up with the orchestra bu5 not to much tho cuz i was in advanced orchestra from 6th to 8th grade 😜
Well, I’m not bragging about my skills as a cellist, but I do find this fairly easy. There’s certain parts where it’s hard with the dynamics and when the D minor scale really shows itself, but that’s mainly it.
my favorite part is 1:10
Those violas, cellos, and bass, though
Yes, it sounds amazing. I'm currently playing this song in 8th grade orchestra and the 16th notes would be my favorite part as I am on cello so I don't usually get fast notes like this. It's a pretty easy song though.
As a viola I 100% agree
Same im viola and UGHHH I love this so much!!!!!!
This one guy in 8th grade saying this is easy
Me in 10th: cries
(I’m also a cello)
I am also a cello in 9th, gets pretty easy after you play it for a bit and is really fun
2:16 to around the end, the bases, violas, and cellos all have parts that sounds like dark carnival music - listen closely.
+ourWorld Lucy exactly
PetrifiedEwenHeDs My favorite part of the music.
Kind of but it is a good part.
Omg it really does. I am playing this in orchestra at my shcool. It's so good.
ohhh that sounds spooky!!!

I’m a violist in 6th grade and my class is learning to play this. It’s so much fun to play, the lower instruments finally get a chance to play out
You have / had playing tests?
@walidneon7722 Me too reall

yeah this was amazing to play with viola, we did this in eight grade as well
This is Grade 2? Huh, I thought this would be a 3 or 4 since the Time Signature changes up quite a bit.
+Carmen Ghalib Me too
Carmen Ghalib im in orch 1 aka year 1 and im playing grade 2 and above so im gonna try to get this peice to challenge myself
Im in 7th grade and my orch teacher is having us play this song for our spring concert. We just got this piece and I learned it in a day...
+Charley Parsons umm same but I'm a 6th grader auditioning for contest with 7th graders and this is one of the songs I need to learn I go to hms do u?...
It's a grade 3 on the Texas Prescribed Music List.
It's difficult for me to play the sixteenth notes cleanly because my class plays it like 3 times this speed to the point where it's like tremolo bowing >:(
PoptartPC my advice is to stick towards the tip of your bow and make your bows short
it's hard to play at the tip of your bow, so if that doesn't work out try the middle of your bow and just do it short.
PoptartPC srsly!!! Tremolo is hard
PoptartPC the best you can do is make sure to keep the movement in your wrist and not your arm! Make sure to stay in the upper half or middle of the bow! You’ve got this I believe in you !
try pulsing to keep together

I like the way y’all’s Bass part sounds like! - I’m a Viola player Btw🤣
exactly! the piece is so fun with all the fast notes, i just wish we had the sixteenth notes like the cellos do
It's not hard after a while you stop count and you just know it
i've never counted to play this song
Honestly same. After a certain point you just kind of feel it
My orchestra has played this piece so I know it
I remember hating this bc of the 33 measures of rest lol
Grace Coleman that was favorite part haha not because its a break, but because you get to enjoy the lower strings beauty
Gracie that was my favorite part I loved listening to the cello part!
lol us viola didn’t get any breaks
Try being a low string that is basically our life.
good thing i play both cello and violin so i get to chose which one to play on this song 😎
I remember when I thought this was super hard. Once I performed Tchaikovsky's Marche Slav, however, this suddenly didn't seem like a big deal.
Carmen Ghalib dude I want to learn how to play that on Violin! I love me some Tchaikovsky
It's easier than it sounds.
Very
Nick Smith very true
I've been getting a lot of replies from songs i played at lgpe last year. Very nostalgic lol
Nick Smith I'm playing this for LGPE

4 years..... you shouldn't have issues with this piece. ive been playing for one and this doesnt look hard at all
AkwadGaming YT Depends how much you set your mind to an instrument. I've been playing for 3 years and I just got this lol, but for Piano I'm much, much better at.
AkwadGaming YT my orch has been playing for 6...it's a little difficult. it just depends on who you are, it seems.
It doesn't sound as good in real life. This sounds a lot more clear
Prob cause the orchestra you're hearing is bad
Either because these are recorded in a room where you can clearly hear it or your orchestra is bad
I'm playing this in 7th grade. My orchestra class is learning and it's really amazing and really talented but we can do it!
I love this song! Played in class today and it was a lot of fun! I cant wait until my winter concert!
Abigail McRee Hey! I played it in class too :D! I can't wait until my winter concert either!
We probably know each other o3o
Rawr
Really? What's your name? (She said sarcastically )
Can't tell you~! I'm keeping my identity a secret on RUclips :D
lol okay person i totally don't know
God I remember playing this song in 7th grade 15-16 years ago. Still my favorite I ever played.
I play the bass and we played this for our UIL ting and it was way cooler playing it in person because it gives you such a rush it’ll make you wanna tap your feet through the whole thing

The double eighth note string crossings are evil
Absolutely love that my orchestra teacher invited me to play with varsity for UIL, cuz I got to meet this absolutely beautiful master peace of music
2nd violinist here. Love this song my fingers already memorized the notes by the amount of practice and enjoy I put into this wondeful piece
I’m playing this piece rn as a first violin…. I am in love with it…it’s soooo fun and catchy
God i miss playing this. Double Bass was my part and forever be my favorite song to play
we're playing this in orch right now-love it!!
why did they skip a small chunk of it???
Just a reminder that the last 3 characters of the video link say "Uw0"

Ahh! I love playing this! I play second violin so I get to play the creepy carnival sounding part at the end ^^
Go violas

a few years late but thanks mannn
its easier than it sounds
It really is
It sounded more like a Russian beat to me
1.25x speed is closer to the tempo we had to play it at. Very fun song, one of my favorites.
When I was in high school we played this for our I think UIL and we won sweepstakes which was amazing bc I started my high school career with sweepstakes and ended with sweepstakes so proud of class of ‘22!

i appreciate that the viola part is fun throughout the song :)
as a bassist, this is pretty funn. I like listening to it all together

I love this song. I mastered this in an hour coming from a viola
Lol, I'm a first violin and I'm a complete failure. Good job to you!
i played this song in a concert and i cant stop listening to it!

I played this in orchestra wayyyy back in the day!!!!! Ah, memories :)
Accidentally had this at 1.5x speed and mind was BLOWN
This piece almost reminds me of an etude, due to how there are repeating patterns and phrases. Also, it has the Baroque Style feel with the D minor key, too!
Any other bassists who loved this piece when they played it in middle school?
It's a little hard at the beginning but when you try it a couple of times it gets easier.
I remember playing this in orchestra MEMORIES !
We were gonna play this for honors orchestra today, but we didn’t learn it in time:(:( Still a super fun and beautiful piece though.
I’m in Moorhead orchestra for horizon east orchestra and this song is so fun to play!!!! I play Cello!
I played this almost 10 years ago, lol. Feels like so long ago.
My favorite parts are: 0:27, 1:11, 1:41, 1:57, 2:16 And 2:22.
my arm hurts from remembering me playing 1:10 to 1:37 everyday during practice... (am cellist)

SAME.
You think that is hard. The part where violins are resting in the middle, us lower strings have to cross strings basically every two sixteenth notes.
I'm a bass and I hated this at the start but love it now
i remember playing this in sophmore year of hs and immediately after playing the last note everyone would be exhausted
Love this! Brings back so many memories 😊❤
This and a song called city of steel were my favorite pieces in chamber orchestra
i came here because of a twoset comment saying that some bows exploded while practicing this piece

I like the part at 1:59, where it’s pretty much the same thing at 0:40.
The only differences is that the violins and violas play faster, while at 0:40 the cellos do pizzicato, and at 1:59 , the cellos change to arco
Omg this is my auditionnn
this piece is truly beautiful

As a harpist who is stuck with 1st violin part, this song is pretty fun :)
im in 8th grade orchestra rn :D the whole class loves this song
I remember struggling every single year that we sightread this xDDD
i struggle on every sightreading lmao
I've got the cello part almost perfect on this song
Im playing this at 1.25 speed and I'm in 8th grade advanced orchestra and chamber but we are not playing this for chamber. And I'm a first violin.
Its really to play! It sounds hard but I swear it's very easy
I have to play this for all countyyyy

i love this piece it was all fun and easy to easy to play
im a cellist and the long melody we have is a little off
Yeahh after you play this for a bit then you just know it. Kinda weird
that temp is this?
I have to play this tmrw because I have solo and ensemble
I wonder how my cello part is gonna go on our solo on m to the 3rd
Th cello, viola, and base are the best part of the song I'm a viola and we have no bass in our orchestra 😞😞
did anyboidy else notice that it skips alot of the cello and viola part-
i was playing along with the cello part and it jumped to a different measure
I know bro i was saying to myself the same thing
Literally I was playing the piece again just for fun and I was trying to play along with the orchestra and it skip parts of the melody
This song sounded so good but as a cellist, I HATED trying to learn it 😭
THIS IS SO COOL!
this music reminds me of Cirque Solei
