This was actually a GREAT video. My 2007 f150 had a very dim radio display. After watching the video I turning the engine on, I gave it a light to medium whack right on the face of it with the palm of my hand and the display became nice and bright again.
As a I watched this. I reached over and palmed the screen. Literally lit up instantly. Thanks for the fix.
I did the same with the dishwasher and amazingly she washed the dishes right away wow man great advice it was a solid fix 😂😂😂
I had the same issue- the problem is with some soldered connections that fail on the display board. That's why pushing on it works-- it forces the connections together again for a little while. Eventually, though, it doesn't help anymore. You can re-solder them to fix the problem permanently. There is a good tutorial about it-- search for "Ford Explorer Dim Radio" to find it. The same radio was common in many '06 & '07 Ford vehicles. I fixed my '07 Fusion by soldering those failed points and it's been fine for over a year now. Just do the research and take your time-- it's not too difficult. Best of luck!

I tried hitting mine with my fist! And it didn't work. So I drove it about 50mph into a brick wall. Unfortunately tge truck is a total loss. Buy walla! The display is working again! Thankyou so much!I 💓
Lol after watching this video, I went outside to my 2006 Ford Explorer and banged on it and Wella, I can know she the clock and radio stations. Two years with a blank screen and a simple punch brought it back on. Thank you so much for this tip!

It once it breaks apart, I'll buy a new car. This 2007 Ford Edge has 300,000 miles. It's been great.
R433, r434, r435, r438 resistors. Take an iron, flux and solder the pads on each side. Fixed mine this way.
The fix..."I just hit it!"

Alright guys I had a similar problem on my 2006 a mercury mountaineer. I took it off the car I remove the black plastic cover and front it should be 4 Screws to on top and 2 on the bottom. Now if you are handy and you have a soldering iron you can reheat all the pins to the screen or the display which is the 2 rows of pins and then there's a set of I believe 6 resistors their the bigger size resistors make sure you go ahead and reheat those contacts with your soldering iron and that should fix your problem
Close. 4 resistors labled 180 in the center. Sometimes youll find 3 180s and a 90 for some reason. It will usually be gone completely tho.
In our work truck, had the same problem. Radio works but no display. Watched the video. Hit with my fist and to my surprise it worked. Still fades out after a couple mins but it’s a work truck so idc...I just want to know what radio station I’m on

Dude the Soldering on is the problem lol, one side has 4 little circuits and other side has 2. well they get loose and have to solder each of them to tighten up against circuit board and bam, all done but thats for trying. when you hit it it moved it in place to where it made contact again and worked but sure it started messing up again!

2008 here. I smacked mine and got it working. Then it stopped working after about 127 times of smacking it. Lol. Cheers.
Same problem. I just tapped the screen pretty hard with my hand and it became bright again. No idea why, but it worked.

I have a Ford F-150 and it beeps in 5 bursts of 5 (25) times everyyyy time I start it and after I’ve been driving for a while (haven’t timed it to see how far apart they are) but I can’t find out why. Any problem I think it is, I fix the problem and it still beeps 😭 I was hoping to find the answer here in this comment

This isn't a fix video, all you did is man handle the radio, change title.
This is the fix tho. Aside from buying a whole new deck. Every ford has done thia for years and years. Both my 07 150s need a palm everytime you turn the trucks on. With 740k in one and 420k on the other and all these years Im pretty sure ive not once hurt the radio. That is the ford fix for these decks.

You didn’t fix anything. You hit the radio until it illuminated, then put it back. As a Ford Technician I can guarantee you that only lasted you a couple days. Not helping other people out there with this video.
