@Motorcarnut if I can do it myself I will install a after market instead of used one that'll just have same problems
Ok, just remember, you’re going to need a dash kit wiring to make sure you don’t lose controls, sync etc. can be over $1200 just for a basic stereo, been there

@Motorcarnut my left side of my speakers stopped working, sounds like they shorted out
Yep, mine too, it’s common, sometimes when you raise the volume it kicks back in, that’s the coils in the speakers failing
@Motorcarnut raising volume didn't make it kick back in I think i need to just get new speakers to install on left side and maybe not a new stereo? If stereo has issues after new speakers then used one.

I pay $50 to fix my ford 2013 radio and after 2 days the radio was no longer working so I decided to check this video and after reading the comments about hitting the radio I decided to try it and guess what the damn radio worked just my luck thank you to those that comment to hit the radio 😂

New Subscriber! had this happen on my 2012 for first time last week, used 4 good hand palm hits to cd player area and the sweet sound of music is back! Radio cut in and out for weeks until then with popping noises. Will try to comment if radio goes out again.

@@Motorcarnut yeah I tried smacking it and it worked for like 1 hour but I can’t get the radio out the shifter is in the middle and there are no video of how to do it with the center console shifter also what’s that video called
I heard the loud pop a few times with my radio and then a couple weeks ago it popped and the radio won't come back. The screen just flashes exactly as you described. I'm thinking I'm gonna have to bake the damn circuit board but we'll see. Thank you for your very helpful videos!

My radio doesnt work no matter what i do, so i smacked it real good with a sledgehammer. It still doesnt work, but at least i feel better now! :) :) ;)

I checked the fuses all ok,the radio worked fine two days ago,I had misplaced my keys so I used my spare key then I noticed that I had no radio,I found my regular keys and now have the same thing,blinking clock and a Bluetooth sign don't know what to check next
Did you watch the whole video? Give it a good hard smack and see if it comes back on, if it does it’s probably the solder joints in the radio itself. I will be making a video on that repair soon but see if the smack helps

All the f150s at my pest control company did this. Bought my boys Bose Bluetooth speakers for the trucks if they have to drive them.

I replaced door speakers a month ago but one was loose turning on and off while crackling. So if it short out radio it would have affected the fuses in panel? Because they looked good.

Could this situation be on any car? My Accent 2012 just flashing clock display and at same time digital fuel gauge showed empty when 1/2 full...Battery was drained like many times before and giving it a jump fixed everything, yet I never had clock/gauge issue before.
No it’s not related. Yours sounds like a short somewhere draining the battery. Could be the stereo as they were known to cause your problem

Yes, look on the description of that video under blend door removal it’s in that video because the radio has to be removed.
If the speaker shorted the radio system, how is that fixed? I replaced the fuses, tried the tap, and still no fix. I heard the crackling speaker like you were explaining before it cut out

My 2011 f150 lariat clock blinking and radio not working and now while l'm driving the left door ajar comes on and the interior lights blinks. Hopefully I'll try tapping the radio to see what happens.
They may be unrelated the lights coming on, but see if the smack gets it working again
Speakers have been cutting in and out sometimes for years, radio works fine, yesterday the display stopped working nothing displayed. I have a 2010 F150 XLT w/ sync. The fuses are good the radio works. Should I try to get the display out and replace it with a junk yard replacement?
You could , but you have to make sure all numbers match on the new display even the letters or it will have to be reprogrammed by dealer and that can be a pain and extra money.

I was in the same predicament, but I found a used stereo on eBay with the exact numbers and it worked no problem but it’s hard to find them matching all numbers. I like a better stereo but it involves a dash kit, wiring kit to save sync, steering wheel controls and the stereo, plus if you don’t know how to install everything it can run over a $1000 depending on the stereo you want. I was going that route since I did want an upgraded stereo and I can install it myself however I don’t have the time and like I said, I found the stock unit on eBay. So depends on your situation. If you go the new upgrade way, check out Crutchfield , you can input your vehicle and it gives you everything you need to install even help if you need it.

Sounds like the front lcd panel is going bad. Can find a used on on eBay or salvage yard

Sounds like it’s the front panel of the radio that’s bad. Salvage yard should have used one.

Have to match numbers on your unit with used one exactly then it will be plug and play

I reflowed the radio PCB and it fixed the speaker s cutting out but the display still doesn't work. Does anyone have a good one for sale? AL3T-19C116-AB 14798992 it's for a 2010 F150 XLT
You have to match the numbers exactly or some features may not work and would have to be programmed by dealer which is a pain.

This happened to my truck. Added a new radio, new speakers, and checked all fuses. Still does not work. Any suggestions??
This is for the factory stereo, an aftermarket unit is different and can be a number of things.
Your videos are fantastic, but I’m just curious my clock is blinking but it also sounds like maybe the CD is skipping but nothing will work. None of the buttons it just keeps sounding like something skipping if that makes sense Any advice

You can try but you may have a different problem.

My raido works but the screen turns off after a while.
That seems like a different issue. Probably the front panel is bad.
I checked the fuses and smacked the radio and still nothing has worked. been out for a couple of months now. all the buttons work for A/C but nothing else.
Yours is probably to bad to come back unless you do the solder repair. I will make a video on that process soon.

I’ve discovered the wire connection in door speaker will come lose and ground out. Take out and solder it. I replaced all

My 2012’s radio died about 2 yrs ago…. It made it 10 years… my shop stereo still rattles the buildings windows… it’s from the mid 1980’s. Ford and most manufacturers now days .. (and from 10 yrs prior) have forgotten ‘K.I.S.S.’
