    nice review, I think this SUV beats Honda's HR-V due to the AWD, Bose Audio on head seat, panoramic roof, dual digital cockpit / entertainment and led ambient lights, looks like a much premium product than Honda's.

    Nice review. You are not supposed to gun the CVT. If you accelerate slowly but steadily, the old Kicks picks up speed fast. The only time I feel it lagging is if I'm going up an incline on the expressway, and I don't start accelerating to adjust for that. Then the car slows down, and it will struggle if I gun it to increase speed. Gun the car, it will make noise and won't budge. Gradually press down on the pedal, the car takes off. Even though I accelerate slowly, I'm usually the first one off at the light. However, I maintain the steady, slower acceleration after that, so sometimes aggressive drivers behind me want me to increase speed immediately once they catch up with me, and I don't want to do that. I want to be good to my CVT and to my engine. I want to increase speed gradually (with no noise from the engine). I'm sure that is also true for the new Kicks. I have the old Kicks. But I think most drivers are only interested in racing other drivers and don't care if they waste gas. They race up to the red light to sit and wait longer. They cut in and out of traffic on impulse on regular roads and on the expressway, constantly risking accidents, making other drivers slam on the brakes as their car isn't as fast or nimble as they think. I get excellent gas mileage with my Kicks. I love the panoramic moon roof.

      Great point! If you notice - to the right of the gear selector is a 'Drive Mode' selector. One of the options is "sport' - this simulates fixed gears and gives you noticeably quicker response. But it's also good to know how the CVT works versus a fixed (gear ratio) automatic transmission.

    I bought one over the weekend, love it so far. Lots more power than the previous engine, the inside is bigger and more comfy too. Three days so far but love it. I bought the middle model, not the top end and not the low end. Even though it doesn't have NAV, it does pick up my Apple phone and uses that NAV, so it works great. Cheers!

    When are manufacturers going to get it?! Customers do NOT want piano black NOR haptic buttons. We want real, physical buttons that stay clean! Also,, 160hp should be the minimum in a vehicle this size , with comparable torque numbers

    It looks too cool to have 141hp, should at least give it a 2.5L like the Crosstrek, or a turbo option rivaling the Kona. The old Kicks used to have an accessory exhaust fininsher, don't know why they discontinue it.

    Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video looking forward to seeing this crossover here but the biggest drawback is the rear wiper blade because from my perspective I have the 2019Mazda 3GS sport hatchback and here in Canada if you don't cover the rear wiper during a snow storm or freezing rain it will stick or come away

    Extremely expensive for what u get. In Canada tx+fees all in for SR AWD 42k! 😮 only affordable if u get the bare bones S model but still over 30k.

    I test drove the sr, and to be honest I thought there was alot of road noise and the motor just wasn't much at highway passing speeds.
    I bought a subaru with a real 4 wheel drive. And the 2.5 boxer motor felt just right. The subaru was quieter and more responsive on highways. Frankly a better smoother ride as well.

    • @A_E_G_I_S
      @A_E_G_I_S 3 дня назад +1

      I’m torn between the two right now!
      Crosstrek Onyx is more expensive than Kicks SV by around $3k in Canada and the fuel economy of 2.5 boxer is worse.
      I slightly lean towards Kick because of it, but I’m still very indecisive 😔

    • @JohnG-zd2xx
      @JohnG-zd2xx 3 дня назад

      Highway passing speeds when you have the 2.5L Boxer (on the new Outback/Forrester) at 182 HP versus 141 in the Kicks speaks for itself. Not sure if the Subaru had the panoramic moon roof like the Kicks and whether or not the shade was open when you test drove either? But also, the HP difference would also help lessen the noise. As I mentioned also, the Kicks has a 'Sport' drive mode which gives you noticeable increase in acceleration on either the highway or in the city.

    • @rickgarcia8481
      @rickgarcia8481 3 дня назад

      @A_E_G_I_S actually the difference is only 1 mile a gallon between the two. Of course the subaru all come with all wheel drive the kicks it's optional, so comparing the two, compare apples to apples. Also the subaru is a more powerful motor

    • @rickgarcia8481
      @rickgarcia8481 3 дня назад

      @JohnG-zd2xx I test drove without because we don't care for them. There was a significant difference in the noise level between the crosstrek and the new kicks.
      We bought a crosstrek sport which comes with the 2.5 motor, all led fog lights, headlights, heated seats, mirrors, adaptive cruise, etc. For $30,000. Subaru is making deals right now, and offering 3.9% financing

    only ppl that buy a Nissan these days are the same ppl who cant afford a honda/Toyota.... not even a Hyundai/kia.... ur not picking it cuz its superior compared to the competition unless ur talking about price. like maybe u got nissan over a Mitsubishi these days, but in terms of what ppl are buying Nissan has gone downhill kinda like what Volkswagen is today.
