the uchigatana i have has a nagasa of 22 and a half inches and has a stubby nakago.the blade is very light but has no hi carved. and judging by the shape and other details was once a longer tachi. wen i compare it to my keicho-genna era hizen-to witch has a nagasa of 21 and a half inches making both blades around the same overall length the differences are easy to see. the hizen blade is much thicker with shallow even curvature, its a rather stout blade. the older uchigatana blade is thin and a tad bit wider with more curvature toward the nakago. that's why i consider the hizen blade an o-wakizashi and the other somewhere between ko-dachi or uchigatana. keep up the great work!

Before katana was introduced, did samurai bring/wear a sword in their daily lives? Did they wear the tachi in their daily clothes?
