That's a great coommmme÷nnttt. 👍 these people have devoted so much. So "brilliant" and the energy is there without a live audience.. .I effing love em...
Nicely done. But I don't know why string orchestras refuse to add another stand of violas when performing Mendelssohn's string symphonies. They are all scored for two sections of violas, just as they are scored for two sections of violins. Typically, four violas playing the same part works well supporting first and second violin sections of 5 or 6 each. But this configuration leaves only two violas on each part for the Mendelssohn string symphonies, and they cannot compete with or properly support violin sections of the typical size: 3 players on each viola part are needed. Mendelssohn, a violist himself, understood how to employ the instrument to great effect, and when the viola parts go unheard, these symphonies really lose some of his most subtle and cleverest orchestrations.
Alfred Music website: “This is the tenth among thirteen string symphonies written between 1821 and 1823, when Mendelssohn was twelve to fourteen years old. Like the other twelve, it was written as a tribute to early Classical symphonies by composers such as Haydn, J.C. Bach, C.P.E. Bach, and Mozart, a feature much more obvious in the first six as they were more imitative. The second grouping, starting with Sinfonia No. 7, show more of the composer's emerging personal style. Mendelssohn composed most of the thirteen string symphonies in three movements, but all that remains of his tenth is a single movement. Historians are unsure whether the work was meant to be a single or multi-movement work. Mendelssohn composed this piece with two separate viola parts. Instrumentation: String Orchestra (2 viola parts) (8-8-[3-3]-5-5 in set).”
Wow, the communication and pure *joy* is infectious. What a wonderful performance.
Marvelous. I wish I had an orchestra like that to back me up.
Such a fine performance;sensitivity and energy;I love your interpretation.
Spannend stuk dat met inzet en enthousiasme wordt gespeeld.
Never heard this before. What fun!
FUN? AND AFUNNINGAZING!
The front Violinist with the gold around her waist is affectious! Fully alive and soaring free.

I was about to ask why no one was social distancing when I saw when this was filmed before shit hit the fan
Why do they need to social distance?
@@christopherbui3551COVID
Social discrappitting on everything? That's why. Nobody real wants to crap on art or people making art...that's what's why...
Why is "racheal" pinned? That's a bad bad look.
@@texanrattlesnake7018 what do you mean I’m pinned? No I’m not. And plus, this was a year ago dude
I didn´t know much about the barock Mendelssohn before this.
Wish my high school class good luck 💀
