- Mimi is getting thinner and weaker, Roger feels scared if he stayed that he is gonna watch her die, so he sells his guitar and buys a car... Mark tries to convince him not to while Mimi listens unintentionally, she sees him goodbye in one of the most sad moments... Mark tries to sign his contract... meanwhile Angel's funeral service is still being prepared... Benny acts very generously.

Ciara Rae they were. Only the begging of goodbye love was there. Right up till everyone leaves the funeral. Although all of goodbye love was filmed except for the last part of mark and Rogers conversation and Halloween. It was decided that it wasn't needed since the movie was already "too long "

Mark being degraded by his best friend but still try to reconcile Roger with Mimi is a next level wingman. But srsly I was in tears for Mark.
At 6:41 there's a few bars of "I should tell you, I should tell you" between him and Mark because Roger can't just say how he feels. I thought it was a nice touch

I agree except I see Adam Kantor as the best at playing Mark Cohen. Even better than Anthony Rapp. Now don't get me wrong, both are very good actors, but beyond that there's something about Adam Kantor that makes him the Mark Cohen for me.
I think Renee and will are better Mimi and Rogers but that’s just my opinion and my taste, I love the originals tho

@@jacobmccain8794 I think Renee's voice was a bit too strong for Mimi. Personally while not the original Rosario Dawson is my favorite. Especially in this scene, Renee's voice is too strong for someone who's supposed to be weak and sickly.

Kaisha Q It’s hard enough in this industry for black women, so if you really care about fair representation then perhaps don’t complain about the most marginalised group prospering in a role. I’m Latina and of course I would’ve loved to see one cast as Mimi but Renee was SENSATIONAL.
I love Mark's part at the beginning. It feels so much like my own mind. He's like the one watching everything happen, but none of it really happens to him. Will Chase is also so amazing, especially in this song. He has such a prescence and he really delivers.

Lmfao the cameramen were on point for this performance! Thats what happens when you actually film the live final performance, and not shut down the show to the audience and film a private performance like fucking CATS... Everyone is going to be on their absolute A-Game, the zooms from the cameramen were fucking great in this film, considering most cinematographers usually frown on zooming as opposed to physically moving the camera forwards. But in all seriousness, this was about the best recording of the final performance that any fan of RENT could have possibly asked for. They actually realized that the energy of the last performance would be unbeatable with the audience, and only cut to private clips of the show when they needed a closeup that would be impossible to get with a live audience (like during Out Tonight, or Another Day) I'm know I'm drunkenly ranting now, but zooms can be pretty chill/funny when used correctly, and this was a correct use!

I've always loved "Halloween"... Perfectly captures Mark's feelings of loneliness and isolation amidst his friends' hectic lives and relationships. Basically the feeling of being on the outside looking in. I know the feels.
And the fact that most of his friends literally have a death sentence. Collins. Roger. Mimi. They all have HIV or AIDS and will more then likely suffer the the same fate as Angel sooner rather than later.
Will Chase and Adam Cantor in mark and rogers argument was so great probably the best part.
Personally I'm a fan of the movies version of this. Mainly, I wish Tracie would have sang it the same way as she did in the movie. I always loved the belt she did on the "gave a mile" note.

I love this song, but it also makes me mad because they're all fighting about their things at their friend's FUNERAL!! I mean, it's really disrespectful of them! They're not thinking about Angel and the pain Collins must be through... Especially the line "I'd be happy to die for a taste of what Angel had": so inappropriate! Still, I love the song xD
While I agree, I think their selfishness during the song makes this piece so much more raw and honest. Highly disrespectful to Collin of course, but man does it all go together so well. c:

I don't think it supposed to be rude but to show how cruel and self centered people are, but at the same time it really opens your eyes to human emotion and the truth in this scene is very truthful and impactful.

+Aerial Dane He is definitely the angriest Roger I've ever seen, and the more I watch him the more I love that. He *screams* some of those lines, it's beautiful! Adam Pascal was great and had a wonderful voice, but for me was harder to connect with, as numb as he played the part. This Mark is no Anthony Rapp but he makes the part his own instead of just imitating Anthony, and he has a really sweet and believable chemistry with Will Chase, and I love the pairing. The whole production is very, very good; I wish I'd had a chance to see this cast live.
+disgruntledmole I think it's good that this case made the characters their own. Like Adam Pascal made Roger numb and really blind to emotion, and will chase just makes Roger angry and emotional. I love both.

This is by far the best rendition of these songs. The tension is so palpable, full of passion... no other versions were even close!

This is such a fantastic cast! Tracie and Eden have such great chemistry and I love the aggression Will brings to Roger in this whole part. And don't even get me started on Adam as Mark... such great casting.

I feel so sad for Collins he's burying his soulmate and his friends are at each others throats he has a totally legitimate reason to be pissed off and I feel sorry for mark always stuck in the middle trying to do the right thing by his friends and Collins

This is my favourite part and it took me awhile to get used to Rogers passion in this part but if you put it in context of Angels death Aprils suicide and minis continued drug use roger just isn't coping and he lashes out in self preservation and pain. It's sad because if mimi and roger actually were honest with each other they could have worked it out sooner.

this is probably my favorite set of scenes in this musical...it's just so powerful and captures so many emotions at once. the movie has this as a deleted scene but it does not do it justice... its so wonderful.

I didn't know I could love someone as Roger as much as I do Adam Pascal, yet here we are.
and it resonates in its theme of temporariness and death as reason for passion in the moment .... the moment is never to be wasted. The fact that it opened just after the death of its creator... well, that says it all
I am in love with this cast!
It's so sad, all of the problems these people are going through and how each issue is unique to one person. RENT is really a journey of discovery and strife for each individual, yet....at the same time, they all need each other. Mark in particular - he feels so alone, like a mere observer, as if he's trapped behind a pane of glass, only allowed to watch. Adam Kantor makes the character of Mark seem truly real, and I love him for that.
And Will Chase...gaaaah, soooo good.

Great to see Traci again! This is a very, very impressive cast, the best I've seen in a long time. I even like that Roger looks more like an 80's glam rocker. This is the first make-up job that's captured the era.

I was just about to comment the same thing. Aside from thinking he was just better groomed for the part (Pascal looked too much like a Calvin Klein model to pass as a former junkie and hardened bohemian) in the songs he sings he actually, well, ACTS. When he explodes at Mimi I nearly got chills. I think the same goes for a majority of the cast, I actually prefer this to the original with Anthony Rapp and crew
Demetri J when adam pascal exploded at mimi "gave a mile to who..All your words are nice mimi(...)" I thought it was a joke because I didnt really feel the grittiness in the movie. Then I saw will chase's part here and I realized that this part should've been portrayed that way.

I saw RENT off Broadway last year but it wasn't until I saw this that I truly fell in love with the show. This cast just worked so well together and were so perfect. I wish I could've seen some of them live.

Anthony Rapp's voice just sounded throaty.
I find that Mark's singing voice shouldn't be phenomenal or perfect, which Anthony Rapp did perfectly. He definitely improved in the movie, though.
