As somebody who is currently in rehearsals for a community theatre production of Rent, we've had four people fall off of the table to far and we're only a month into rehearsals.
I'm doing a production of rent now, we are a lowbudget production. So we don't dance on the tables standing up. We dance in before the tables or behind. cause otherwise the table will break xD
I'm doing rent in rltroon and I'm one of the ones dancing on a table, problem is one table I'm on for rehearsal feels like I might collapse through it 😅
"i should tell you" is the greatest love song ever. such a masterpiece of theater. its like, wanting to tell your whole life story to someone then suddenly realizing it doesn't matter because it's all about this moment. Here we go, just us. who knows where, who goes there. who goes? here goes us. trusting desire, starting to learn. walking through fire without a burn. clinging a shoulder a leap begins. so here we go. AND THE FACT THAT IT WENT BLACK WHEN THE HARMONY STARTED JUST UGH...
Every time I'm out in a cafe with friends (which is rare because I don't really have a life), I feel this huge urge to put the tables together and sing/dance this! I don't think anyone would join me though, not to mention everyone around would immediately hate me :')
My dad had me watch Rent with him and I'm 12 lmao. I mean, I watched it with my mom afterwards, and with my dad actually awake. Very very awkward. I took a lot of bathroom breaks during the 18+ parts.
I'll be seeing RENT in November this year but not in English and when I see people complain about this compared to the movie let me tell you I'd give EVERYTHING to watch this musical in ENGLISH no matter what version so I can sing along because the EN version of the songs is the only version I am fluent in. Listening to RENT in my mothertongue creeps me out already. The messages just don't get delivered, so be glad guys that you at least are able to listen to original text. PS: Closing my eyes, this Mark Cohen has almost an identical voice to Anthony Rapp, it's amazing.
the movie version is awesome for a song to jam to, and recording a live performance is never going to be as good as actually seeing it live. i found this version boring but when i actually saw it live it felt just as, if not more, energetic as the movie version
Just for me that Mimi's ignored all night along make zero sense? She participated in the entire song, plus was part of the impromptu salon, and when she sees that Mark wasn't by her side, he was still at the salon joke, like, literally 5 seconds away from you
She meant Roger bc he invited her and she felt ignored bc he left her alone and Benny approached her. She thought he would spend full time with her but he literally told her that he was inviting her to go but his friends would be there so she was kinda selfish when she said that to him.

+Monica Anggraeni Dewi As Blur said, this was the FINAL Cast that represented the company, and they absolutely KILLED it. As far as I know, none served as understudies within this particular project. I know Tracie Thoms came later on as Joanne and took on the solo vocals in "Seasons" in the film as Gwen Stewart wasn't in it. (I think that's right) Anyway, this is the cast I saw the show with and they were just amazing.. Glad you can't go to jail for thoughts either, because Renee Elise Goldsberry (MIMI) could've had me doing a lot of jail time. Unless of course, she found my ideas agreeable.
This is arguably one of the best songs in the play, but this scene just makes me hate all the characters so much. This isn't fucking Chicago, you're not supposed to be assholes, dammit.
will and renee's chemistry as roger and mimi are unbeatable there is no greater pair than the two of them for the roles
I've always wondered how many people fell off the table while rehearsing this number
As somebody who is currently in rehearsals for a community theatre production of Rent, we've had four people fall off of the table to far and we're only a month into rehearsals.
SissyFlower5 a few years ago when I was in our production of rent I fell off the table once😂 there were some other accidents, it was pretty funny
I'm doing a production of rent now, we are a lowbudget production. So we don't dance on the tables standing up. We dance in before the tables or behind. cause otherwise the table will break xD
You are beautiful
I'm doing rent in rltroon and I'm one of the ones dancing on a table, problem is one table I'm on for rehearsal feels like I might collapse through it 😅
full offense (no offense) but why does Roger look like an emo young Gordon Ramsay
He really does!
hahaaaaaaa

"It went well."
*smiles* "Go to hell!"
This is why I love Maureen. :3
"Go to hell" Maureen is my spirit animal
Every time I'm out in a cafe with friends (which is rare because I don't really have a life), I feel this huge urge to put the tables together and sing/dance this! I don't think anyone would join me though, not to mention everyone around would immediately hate me :')
dot i woulf love to be friend of u
I will join you!
What is up with Benjamin looking like he is about to ask where his super suit went
DEEADDD HAHAHAHHAHA
Oh the reasons why I don't watch Rent with parents :))
+PhantomifyEponine My parents introduced me to rent when I was 12
I'm in a production of rent playing Roger, my rather religious mum has decided to come see it......should be interesting :P
peterkilley have fun
My dad had me watch Rent with him and I'm 12 lmao.
I mean, I watched it with my mom afterwards, and with my dad actually awake. Very very awkward. I took a lot of bathroom breaks during the 18+ parts.
we're performing RENT here in my country and my parents are watching the show 😭😂
I'll be seeing RENT in November this year but not in English and when I see people complain about this compared to the movie let me tell you I'd give EVERYTHING to watch this musical in ENGLISH no matter what version so I can sing along because the EN version of the songs is the only version I am fluent in. Renee sung her a$$ off #bestmimiever
She was actually the strongest singer as Mimi that I've heard.
TheBeaBop that's exactly what I was thinking
Agreed
That moment when they hit that harmony at 9:47 and onwards, my life was complete.
I feel like this performance is definitely lacking in energy - I do like the two who play Mimi and Roger, together though
+molly devlin Its slowed down because its on stage :( I do like this version better than the film though
The 1998 version is soooo fast
3:03 I wonder how many times he almost/did slide off the table on accident
Is that Renée Elise Goldsberry?
Yes, it is!
Idk but at 2:33 I got chills. I think because it was just so perfect. Holy shit i liked that part
Ive got to stop watching different renditions of this song on repeat, it cant be healthy... its been like 4 months
"Mucho masturbation" is my favorite line! 😂😂😂
I like this version the best. Whoever plays mark is the best in the show next to renee
To be honest, I love the Broadway version but I think that the movie scene is way better.
Yes the movie version is more energetic and way more fun 🙌🏾
nothing about the movie is better (besides Rosario Dawson as Mimi) the film is just to pg and clean
Sorry as much as I love the stage and I usually prefer the stage version of almost anything I have to agree with Maria and Jasmin on this one.
the movie version is awesome for a song to jam to, and recording a live performance is never going to be as good as actually seeing it live. i found this version boring but when i actually saw it live it felt just as, if not more, energetic as the movie version
honestly i agree, nothing will beat the movie version of this scene, its energy is amazing
I never realized the glory of Tracie and Renee being on the same cast. 11 years late but hey
that and they filmed most close ups earlier in the day because if they zoomed during the performance it would be too grainy and unfocused to use :)
Uhhh that dude in the beginning. Wasn't he on glee as that warbler Wes? Anybody recognize him? I sure do
yeah, his names Telly Leung. he also played Angel in like 2010
baylee roberts I know. I know that. I was just throwing that out there, cause I'm a huge fan of rent and glee
I like this production of RENT a lot, but their version of La Vie Boheme seems too slow.
i love the way benny yells CHEEEEEEEEEEEECK IT MAKES ME LAUGH EVERYTIME
I DIDNT KNOW RENEE PLAY MIMI! I ONLY KNEW HER AS ANGELICA
anyone know how many times they did these scenes to get the different camera angles?
Eden's "go to hell" is me when my teacher gives me an F
My favorite rent cast
thats angelica schulyer
ella g. Her name is Renee Elise Goldsbery
i love marks solos in this whole song
"Go to hell:)"
I love this Maureen!
Just for me that Mimi's ignored all night along make zero sense? She participated in the entire song, plus was part of the impromptu salon, and when she sees that Mark wasn't by her side, he was still at the salon joke, like, literally 5 seconds away from you

Rent still preforms it's not completely dead.
Does anybody know where i can download the whole musical?

Joanne Denney It is her actually😂
Joanne Denney nvm

when is this production ? are these the understudies ?
This is from the 2008 Broadway cast.
+Monica Anggraeni Dewi As Blur said, this was the FINAL Cast that represented the company, and they absolutely KILLED it. As far as I know, none served as understudies within this particular project. is this is the least liked La Vie Boheme ver?
Collins' voice gets to me
I much prefer this version of Rent over the movie, but this Collins is so weak vocally. Surely there was someone better?
1:29 WOW SHE DID THAT
So that's what happened to Angelica Schuyler after she moved to America
Who's playing Adam here? I like him
Am I the only one who thinks Renée acts better here than in Hamilton??
OHMYGOD IS THAT ANGELICA SCHULER
That's because everything happens faster in the movies!
Who came after watching the rent live haha
This is arguably one of the best songs in the play, but this scene just makes me hate all the characters so much. This isn't fucking Chicago, you're not supposed to be assholes, dammit.
I don't like the Mimi and Roger here. Adam Pascal is the best Roger
I'm autistic. For some reason, the stage show gave me clarity... Although, I like the movie too. 😈🥬
