I like how you guys kept the audio with the drone footage.
The heavy breathing reinforces just how much energy is used to surf a wave that long and hollow.
You could feel the leg burn each time he relaxed a bit between sections, then getting back into stance.
I feel exhausted just watching.

That is most likely the longest most intense wave EVER SURFED by young Koa Smith... Amazing strength .

Body surf one North Narrabeen in 1970s after a cyclone. Some one filmed it I was high for a month.never to be repeated I'm now 68

I asked my wife to watch the video, she said not "another wave". She reluctantly agreed to watch it and said is that "Teahupo'o reversed?", then she said "that is the Best Wave Ever Ridden". I've surfed since 1970, I think that is the best wave ever filmed. Left or Right. Kudos to Koa and drone pilot cameraman Chris Rodgers. They could make points like that all over the planet with abundant room for sea life, but killing people over senseless wars is more important to the MIC. (Military Industrial Complex).
Some say Koa is still pitted in that same barrel 3 years later! 🏄♂️

There are other videos of this wave but none this good. You just cant tell the size of a wave from surfer's POV. Just outstanding and had enough strength for a top turn at the end. I'm a little out of breath just watching it!

Being a goofyfoot I used to play videos on my VCR of place like Kirra, JBay or various long right handers and watch them in my mirror. You probably stoked out some regularfooters with this one!
To hear his breathing, the air rushing around the barrel and the crashing water, puts one right there in the scene.

I try to imagine such a perfect place and wonder what was the first surfers thoughts when they stumbled on what can only be called paradise. It's hard to imagine these waves were created for any other reason than to be ridden. To be in the water and waiting for a set must be so peaceful and humbling, not ever being there I can only say this is surfers destiny, a place of cleansing, reflection and the feeling that somewhere in heaven one angel said to the other "see I told you if it were created surfing would be a wonderful connection between man and nature" (as the angel flips back his hair and tucks deep into the tube)
