Love my summit 2.0. I have a hack upgrade for who may be interested. Bought the replacement water dance pro strap from fishpond and added the padded portion to the sling belt strap. Tons of added padding on collar bone when slung forward. A plus is that you stay fishpond OEM and get even more attachment points.
I’m curious how adding padding on the belt strap helps with the collar bone 😅 I’m definitely gonna do this! I’m just trying to picture what you are saying lol
I prefer that for shore fishing in saltwater where I'm not making a ton of fly changes and can land the fish on the bank. I never could get comfortable with the net with that pack. For trout fishing I love their switchback pro. The net holder works a lot better for me and the pack holds all I could need.
I have one of these for last 5 years ....and it does not stay together like you would think ....strap retention loops stretch out 5 times larger and do nothing , net holster is not useable while fishing and getting in or out ....those are a couple of cons about it ...I still use it but it should work better for the price .....my 2 cents .PS And I fish every day so I'm hard on my gear ....
It's a Costa product, really like the stiff wire. Keeps me organized. redsflyfishing.com/products/c-mono-sunglass-retainers-by-costa?variant=42063120990407
Fishpond Nomad Emerger, super net for walk n' wade with larger fish. Incredibly tough and durable. redsflyfishing.com/products/fishpond-nomad-emerger-net
Net in your armpit when accessing doesn't look comfy? The hemo holder isn't secured and strap retainers being seen on usually more expensive items?? Look I'm sure it's not a bad bag but man it's tough to find something that has good features... My Allen sling for $60 is providing better and more features right now but is just to small for my needs now
Not sure how to respond, it has a dedicated net holder that works very well and has lots of features. I strongly doubt that an Allen product will last nearly as long before it blows out a zipper or busts a seam. It's good gear but there is a huge diff in construction versus Fishpond. This pack is a really good value IMO for what you get.
@@redsflyshop Was just annoyed at the time about buy once cry once montra, my bad, using the bag now... It's fine. Still think for the price and version 2.0 naming it has a lot of foresight and issues. And I'll still hold true that my Allen bag (still going after 2 seasons btw) was more thought out. But FishPond does other things better and was definitely the best choice compared to Orvis or Simms. Just want people, beginners especially, to know that a high pricetag doesn't always mean better than an item with a lower. Trying as many as you can is the key.
Just so others are aware, some of the issues are the net holder isn't easy to get back in, no compartments/separations in the bigger pockets(like why?), hemo holder band is just loose so it flops around, work station isn't easy to work on without pushing the bag in (Maybe im just fat), No included bungie for tippet which I know they sell but more options is always good, I had strain on my shoulder after use (might be just cus it's heavy since it's bigger than my Allen bag), overall the straps are to small beyond the shoulder part and the shoulder part is just kinda floppy and not padded enough. And to be fair, the pros since this bag really was a better option for me over Orvis and other name brands Lots of attachments points which is somehow not a given with other bags, material feels nice and quality, Good zippers/zipper handles, seems pretty water resistant, Lifetime warranty (Always skeptical since it's always at their discretion and doesn't cover "normal deterioration of materials overtime") At $100 I would say this bag is a good deal, at $80 I would say it's a steal. At $120 I just think it's just the best option for me out of the competition.
You certainly did a great job reviewing this pack. I was generously gifted one of these. Thanks for giving me ideas as to how to set this one up.
Awesome! Thank you!

Good hack, it's a great pack and great to hear it's been a hit for you. Thanks for sharing.

Nice, but I think they skimped on the shoulder strap padding.
Will it go over your left shoulder? I hate how my other one goes over my right casting shoulder.
Does it come in a left hander version?
No
