When I was kid about age 11 here in Texas we lived in a nice neighborhood. There was a pack of domesticated dogs that when they got together started killing the smaller dogs in the area. They eventually got a hold of our dog and left him for dead on the street. There was a man down the street who was a retired Army officer who had 2 cute smaller sized dogs who was so loving to those pups. When the pack got his dogs he got some guys together and went hunting the pack. They found and shot all 5. I wouldn't suggest anyone make the neighborhood a free fire zone, because that was scary too, but someone needs to deal with this before a tragedy happens.
Because then they can claim they need more money and power in order to help people... And they will shamelessly say this while making it more illegal for people to defend themselves... It is how the government rolls.
Wow! I am so glad you are okay!!! Its sooo very scary to be attacked by loose dogs. Makaha my home there on Moua street, I ran the beach daily with my dog Bella. One day two big pitbulls came out of nowhere chasing Bella on the beach. I was horrified! I prayed Dear God help Bella! I was terrified. She ran shrieking and finally I grabbed her. I pulled my dog under me lying on the sand to protect her. One of the dogs was biting my feet to get to her. The other was at my face about to to grab Bella's little head in its mouth. I bit that dog on the head so he wouldnt kill my dog!!! I thought id lose my teeth from the large dog pulling backward. I finally let go and both those dogs ran off. I was so mad I yelled after them that Id kill them. I had grabbed my dog and walking down the path when one of those dogs ran back toward me. I turned around screaming at him that i would kill him. He turned and ran back to the beach. Once i knew i was safe I was crying. My neighbor ran down that path with a shovel ready to get those dogs. I can see it so vividly in my mind. Thankfully Bella was in my arms and she was okay! She was so tiny. She could have died. When I went to the ER for my feet all bitten up, the nurse said i shouldn't have done that to save my dog. I would do it all over again to save her. That was ten years ago and I am still traumatized from that day! Bella turned 11 years old this year and passed away this May. 😢😢😢 I am so heartbroken but to think she almost died 3 different times while we lived in Hawaii, and she survived!!! I wrote "all about Bella" in my MEANT TO BE book on Amazon by Becka L Jones. I miss my Bella so much.
That's OK HPD, no need to call HHS. Certain citizens will take care of them, at least the ones with a gun. Since HPD won't do anything about it, except make a police report, and that's as far as that will go.
That lady could have been killed by those dogs and HPD says call the Humane Society and The Humane Society says they don’t do anything unless HPD notifies them . What is a person to do?
Complete BS story! If you want to know what a person who is attracted by a pack of dogs, google it! This woman doesn’t have a scratch on her!.. she knew there are homeless people back there.. she was paid by someone to concoct this story! Almost all the homeless in Hawaii are native people who have been driven out of their native homes by mainland investors… here is the real crime!
They pass the buck because nobody wants to put forth the effort and do their jobs, and because they're too lazy to do the job that they get paid to do somebody could actually loose their life.
My Golden Retriever got attacked by a homeless person's pit bull in Haleiwa. I cannot go walk at the beach in Hau Bush because of some homeless dogs. So now who do we call? No one can take care of it?
I’m so sorry. I hope your golden is okay. It’s insane that these walking time bombs, which were bred to maim and kill, get to dictate where people walk in THEIR communities.
No matter how trained a dog is once they form packs they’re back to being a wild animal. Seen tons of dog pack attacks on the reserve and they go after children and elderly
Unfortunately, no one will take it seriously and hold the owners liable until someone dies. Imagine if a young kid was severely mauled - you bet the response would be much different.
I like our police officers. But I am disappointed that they forget what the "Protect" part of their motto means. Is it because they think it's too trivial a job to do, or brush it off as, "not MY job"? Are you going to WAIT until a Blood sacrifice happens before you see that this IS protecting the people. 😢
One of the earliest US Supreme Court cases to discuss the public duty doctrine is South v. Maryland (1856). In that case, the Supreme Court held that police officers did not have a duty to protect an individual from harm unless they had a special relationship with that individual. So take that into consideration…be your own first responder.
She could've been seriously injured or worse. There appears to be an understanding or policy on how to handle these situations between HHS & HPD, but clearly there's a breakdown in communication here. It will get handled as soon as Blangiardi is made aware of this issue. You can bet on it.
HS no get involved unless HPD calls them? What about if a citizen calls them? WTH does HS even do? Its like they no do nothing unless they can make money off a animal cruelty case. SMDH
The Humane Society is a charity. They mostly deal with stray and unwanted pets by facilitating pet adoptions. It's not the Humane Society's job or mandate to deal with dangerous animals unless they have a contract with the County. The County is responsible.
@@timobrien2586 basically the person reporting the stray or violent dog has catch the dog themselves or HPD has to capture the stray dog and then call the HS to come and grab it.
This has been a problem for a long time. There needs to be an animal control unit. Every other state has it. You can't add that as a job for police. They have enough to deal with.
Ummm, maybe should have paid better attention between going left or right. Maybe better common sense would have told you, 'this is not a safe place to jog, period...
This is not the first time or the last time. This woman is obviously a bit overdramatic, she barely got bit, but imagine if it was an elderly or child who can’t defend themself. I know multiple people who got attacked by those dogs, there’s no solution except clearing that homeless camp of their animals at least. The bozos who put out cat food are not helping either.
I suppose the municipalities won't mind it when you are attacked you drop the assailant right there. The prosecutor will arrest us for doing their civic duty. Protecting the law-abiding citizen. She thought she was gonna die. Sounds like that's when you gotta do what the government can't or won't do. Kudos to the jogger. We'll done
The typical “it’s not my job pass the responsibility to someone else” excuse. This is unacceptable. After several complaints and still this lady had to suffer because no one took responsibility. What’s it going to take? These dogs, just like feral cats, feral chickens, and other uncontrolled animals will become invasive. But chickens and cats don’t attack people.
I'm a bit unclear on this. The Humane Society is a private organization, right? Where is the publicly funded county Animal Control? Have people let the job of controlling animals be subbed out to private contractors to save tax dollars? I'd prefer a county agency to the Humane Society.
This is when you have to take matters into your own hands. The cops don’t wanna do anything and then the humane society acting like they need direction to get involved. Pathetic.
It's literally one officer making a call to Humane Society and they have a "case" to respond to. Just because it's not your job doesn't mean you cannot pass it off properly.
and what happens when you have more cases than officers? What happens when you have a loose dog case but also 3 calls about pet owners needing their pet put down because theyre suffering and they have no money? None if it gets "passed off". It gets prioritized because the number of emergencies are endless and its literally every single day.
@@brucewayne7831The story said they never even passed the information. It just needs to get passed off as in get the information to the agency that handles it and they can manage it with whatever process they have. Pass off as in literally make a phone call and say this is HPD and here's the information for you, now good day. Its diligence and duty not negligence. Then the receiving end can manage and prioritize. I don't know any situation where lack of communication between agencies is acceptable.
