    The original tank in the rear is a 400021 and the newer one in the front is a 532184900.

    Sweet. Great video. I was looking on how to remove a tank because it sat without the cap and now has debris in the tank. I like what you did here

    Thanks for this video. I have a YT4000 that looks to be nearly identical. I also had a cracked gas tank. It looks like the upper deck presses on the tank, leading to a crack. Lifting the deck up as you show worked well. Fortunately I was able to buy a new tank from Sears Parts Direct. It was about $100 and came with the breather hose. Also, tank appears to be slightly smaller so that the upper deck does press on the tank.

    Very much appreciate your video, my fuel tank was fine but the linkage to the forward & reverse gears had came loose and I needed to remove the tank to fix the linkage. Thanks again! My mower is a Craftsman T3000. Year 2015.

    Thanks for the video. The fuel tank on my craftsman is also leaking. This is a great idea for the fuel tank/battery. Also those extra hoses and charcoal canister are for the EVAP system. Basically it captures and recycles fuel fumes.

    Keep looking. Another guy shows a real simple way to take only the back fenders body off. Easy peasy.

    Just saw your other video where you cut out the fender to fit in the battery box. I hope I can find a box that will be large enough to fit my battery. Anyway, great videos. Thanks.

    Great video. Just what I need. Had to get at my trans linkage which was clogged with grass and debris preventing the forward/reverse pedal from operating correctly which I understand is a common problem. Pulled the tank, but don't want to do it again in order to clean the linkage periodically. So I want to put the battery in the rear fender area. Problem is, the battery tray from front is too shallow so that the battery sticks up too high preventing the seat from resting on the springs. I looked all over on eBay and google for a battery tray that will fit my opening which is 8 1/4" x 6" and be at least 7" deep to hold my battery. I have a Sears Craftsman Pro Series which I believe to be Husqvarna. I bought a rear tray for Husqvarna and it doesn't fit the opening and my battery is a little too big for it anyway. Did you have to enlarge the opening and what battery tray did you use?

    Totally irrelevant, (although im about to do this same thing to a Craftsman DGS 6500 which is why I'm here) but I got a pair of those McLane edgers too haha. Just "restoration" on the 1985 one with a Briggs 60102, and the other is a 1973 badged for JCPENNEY, also a Briggs 60102.
    Good to know I dont have to pull the whole dashboard off this sucker to swap the tank!

    Do you have any idea what tractor the battery box came off of? The stock one on my ys4500 sits up to high even if I cut it. The one you got there looks super clean and sleek

    when the tank is high above now do you still need fuel pump ? Did you put a gravity filter red gas line ? How about vacuum line that goes to the valve cover . Do you still leave that connected ? My motor sounds like back fire. once in a while.. I am concern what would cause it. Thank you for your help.

      U can hook up the fuel pump so u don't have to plug everything off because u don't want anything getting into the vavles

    • @smallenginerepair3379
      @smallenginerepair3379  2 года назад

      Could be your vavles need adjustment possible spark plug change or the carburetor could use a cleaning

      I found it on another comment. Thanks. I’m looking for the battery box. Because the one I had I cut it down but the battery was sitting to high to close to the seat and that wouldn’t work.

    Great video and tank replacement option, However Craftsman now offers a replacement tank remanufactured that is better built for $129.00 shipped my only concern with this method is the considerable less amount of gas held which could interrupt your mows pending your yard size, other than that this mans video is very very informative thank you

    That look very much like a rebranded Husqvarna. E.g. I have the YTH24V48 and it looks identical and the tanks are still available for like $50. Mine is cracked right on thr nipple where the evap line goes near the filler. Gonna try to patch it up but I never removed the seat and floor pan before. However it looks identical to yours

      @@timgross7671 I think it was repairclinic dot com, but prices went up closer to $100, probably because it's out of season now. I ended up using a bit of plastic solder and then sealall because it's just a vent pipe in my case, not critical.
