For an academic, Professor Awe preforms the roll of presenter as good as, if not better, than a professional actor.
The quality of the audio was outstanding, especially considering all those animal sounds from the rain forest make for a very noisy environment.
Also, now I know what to wear if I want to look like an archeologist.

    What a wonderful video.
I have rarely seen videos like this which are presented by the actual experts and researchers who work at these places.
This presentation style makes it very real.
Thank you very much, I really enjoyed learning about that,.

I recently watched a Lecture by Professor Awe, he was showing the Before & After of his Excavation & Restoration( it was an amazing job). You can see he loves his Job. Saving & Sharing the Accomplishments of his Incredible Ancestors is one thing, to get paid to do something he obviously loves to do is awesome.

How does this interpretation of the reach of Maya roads concur with recent evidence from LIDAR scans in Guatemala and the rest of the Maya world ?

Is that mortar between the stones where you sat to explain the ball games?

    • @russellmillar7132

It would not be unusual or remarkable if it was. Ancient megalithic builders make extensive use of mortar, despite what is alleged by many alternative history buffs. The organic matter in the mortar used in the pyramids of Giza allowed researchers to use radio-carbon dating to establish that they were built in the 3rd millennium BCE.

That was excellent. Did the city have only one ballcourt? Did the ballcourt we saw in the video ever have hoops?

There was no water for 6 months of the year- what did the Mayan’s drink? The static loading calculations for the pyramids requires advanced mathematics - where is the evidence that the Mayans had this. I am an astrophysicist, I have been to Caracol and seen the encoded astrophysics data. I rate this pretentious video at 1/100 and I am being generous.

Why would nobody give a little general info about Caracol before getting into all the details about the site?? Modern journalism and communications are so unprofessional. Thanks anyway.
