It never gets old for you does it? Dodge Chargers are in your blood. It must feel good to bring a dead carcass back to life. You sure work miracles with your Frankenstein approach to body reanimation. It's amazing how you know your way around all the nuances within the body structure. Have you ever been stumped with an area and how to fix it? No? Those days are gone because you have restored so many cars? Thanks for your time, I look forward to your videos.
Such a good thing you're doing saving all these Chargers and rebuilding the bodies if not for you they would still be laying in the dirt or behind the garage or whatever rusting out Mopar fans everywhere will appreciate you you never know you may have created an Empire your name will live on and on
Amazing work! I love that you take the time to fab the stick metal bits that were cut out rather than just replace everything. I get it, they wanted to retain as much original Mayhem as possible, but doing that work the way you did is a labor of love.
As a mopar guy I just want to say thank you for what you do Bird. The 2nd gen charger has been my dream car since I was 3 years old. Almost 30 years later and I love them just as much as ever. For those of us who know these beauties will likely be forever out of our reach, the next best thing will always be watching them come back to life. Knowing another was saved and their "population" is growing every day just brings solace. The mayhem has brought me alot of joy over the years, its what got me really into Roadkill. I attended their event in st Louis just to see it in person. The show really brought me and my friends closer together before frankly motortrend sold out. Mabey I'll get my dream 70' 440 six pack 4 speed car someday. Sadly, probably not. But I'll be watching closely. Mabey I'll get to see one saved.
Nice tig work chris. I like the tig so much better than the monkey gun. I know it's slow. But so precise. And no spark's and spatter. Keep up the good work. Saver of the worthy. 😁👍👍👍......
That’s some pretty damn good fab work Chris. You’ve got a great “ job “ working on this and these cars has got to be a great gig. Sure they drive you nuts but then you get to drive your nuts off when finished. Thanks for the video. Keep on Keeping on
Well done Chris!! Never got tired to see and agree with every decision that you make by improving those solutions that you take. See you soon. Thanks a lot!!
@@Tumbleweed_Tx Nope. When they started, it was a rough (but intact) rolling shell with no engine. They transplanted a motorhome 440 into it & got the car running & driving. Some time later, they had a 'pro shop' do a hellcat swap, which is when the bogus hacking happened.
God DAMN it's good to see a vid from you, up!! Mayhem looks AWESOME!! How in do you not go insane with all this stuff in your head? Awesome as usual my man!! Maynard out!!
Awesome 👍🏻👍🏽🤙🏼 Chris the amount of time I was working on things, on the ground is crazy so started trying to make myself work on a bench but then still end up working on the ground 🤪 lol It is annoying as you get older and I have injured knee is a problem on how I got to get back up 🤔🤔 🤣🤣 great work 👍🏽👍🏻
Awesome work! Looks like they found the right guy to save this iconic road kill car. Thanks for taking the time to film and share it with us. Question: How on Earth do your neighbors allow you to have what looks to be a full-time body shop/restoration shop in your driveway?!? Is your wife the mayor or something?
I love what you do you put thes old cars back together ,you understand how the structure is meant to work ( a really rare thing) and you are clever enough to modify the original design in an intelligent way. if I lived anywhere close I would be knocking on your door asking if I could work for you!
Chris love your skill you have to bring these old Chargers back from the dead. I have a 69 that needs a lot of work just like this, floors rear frame rails ect but I live in Toronto Canada. keep the videos coming my friend
If you put the flange on the inside of the frame rail where the wheel house is it would still be a strong and give you the extra inch, it’s awesome that you can fit a huge tire under there either way
Chris you are true metal craftsmen. Your skill and passion is so amazing. You should sale your wheel tub design to one of the reproduction companies so that can made up for others.
WOW! I am impressed once more how you are willing and able to save a car that has been mutilated and destroyed before! It is so much easier to chop out things of a car than reversing the hackjobs that have been done to it! Most people just would have puked and declared the car a hopeless piece of hunk!!
I just quickly ran off to make some popcorn ..It's like a Bond Movie Premiere 😀
Oh. Great username.
This man could build one of these from stratch

He is a treasure. I hope he never gets bored of 2nd gen Chargers. The classic.
I only like Chargers. I totally understand this.
was it Ben Franklin who said "do one thing and do it well"?
Chris, You are One Hell Of a Fabricator. I Enjoy watching Your Work.
The Magic Metal Master rides again. I am marveled by the way you reconstruct the pieces you need. You are the Mopar Magician.
That piece you made above the wheelhouse is fantastic. I love metal work. It is an art form. Killer job Chris
Just about to comment on how ridiculously good that fit

Great job on the car.

Autobody work is truly a work of art
Hey get AMD to make a "Birdsong" version of the wheel tub? Keep up the great work, looking forward to see it when you are done.
That would be a useful part for sure.
Great idea!
To good for Road Kill.
Love the work you do.

See you soon. Thanks a lot!!

"Wider is better" is an old Pontiac advertising slogan anyways

Classic Junkerup - never get tired of watching welding and fab work - more betters indeed. Thanks.
Remember to weld like Frieburger. Hoodie, camo cargo shorts, and flip flops. (Don’t worry. They’re OSHA approved)
Dont forget to channel colin firze and wear your safety tie!
First class work as usual Chris. Love everything you do!
Amazing! It gives me the inspiration to get my ‘70 R/T 440 Six Pack 4-speed back into fighting shape. 👍😎
Nice! You do great work.Chris!
Love u work, Chris u are a Forged In Fire Metal Master!!
So…when are you going to have a class on “What not to cut out of a Chrysler unibody” for the roadkill guys?
they bought it that way. The guy they bought Mayhem from tells the story of 'the one that got away', and how he hacked it up but never finished it
@@Tumbleweed_Tx watch it again... it was when roadkill sent it to get the hellcat 392 hemi swap that It got hacked up...
The shop was told to do the hacking, they had less than 2 weeks to make it happen, keeping the original car intact was not on the priority list.
L.m.M.f.A.o. ! :D
This video is extremely technical and i goddamn love it!!!
I am impressed. This is real dedication!
I hope to TIG weld half as good as you, someday, Chris.
I really like watching a true metal smith at his craft, just amazing!

At this rate, Mayhem is gonna be structurally more sound then factory, or then 95% of the show cars at SEMA.
To be fair 90 percent of the sema cars are held together with bailing wire and duct tape
You do really nice work for a Mopar guy
You just keep doing what you do man. We'll be here.
Looks great!!!!
Love this! You do it right man!!
Awesomeness! You’re really tying Mayhem together like a nice area rug.
The dog got so excited to see what you were working on 😂😂😂 Excellent work!
Great skills dude.

14” is more than plenty and the car is going back down to 10” tire anyway
My wife loves to watch this- one of the few she watches- I just call and tell her that her boyfriend is on and she shows up-
@Stupid Liberals what does being a liberal have to do with this guy's wife enjoying a video about the General Mayhem?
Mad skills !!!!
Dude, your the English wheel gurus!!!
AMAZING work with that "Deathwheel 5000" talent shows!
Great work on those inner fenders. I just hit subscribe! Keep it up Chris
