The reason I love this cinematic to much is because I love the Spartan II's from the books and it gives me hope that they'll do them justice in the game. Well, they really can't, since it would be like playing with god mode. If you read the books, you know what I'm talking about.
1:15 I love this moment. Fred asks John if he's good. John confirms and Fred doesn't push the issue. Fred know something's not right, but he trusts him to do his job. That's the level of professional trust and friendship they have.
I love this, if anything it highlights the difference between Spartan IIs and IVs. One is a lot more tactical and smart about their approach because of all their training and experience. The other is a bit more rash because of their new tech.
+shinypinecone One of the in story reasons for that could be the fact that Spartan IIs trained from long before the MJOLNIRs arrived on the scene, so they were well aware of the fragility of life and operations. They also trained in worse conditions than Spartan IVs who went through standard military training and were always used to the access and use of gears and tech. Also, all Spartan IIs trained together at the same time, so they all feel like equal parts to a much larger machine where all must function and win for the team to win (first lesson in training for S IIs). Whereas Spartan IVs are drawn from different branches of service and are very individual minded in their approach resulting in each one functioning like an operative rather than enhanced soldiers in a unit. At least that's what I thought about it.
+CharlieMason You're right. That's the difference between SPII's and SPIV's. They grew up together. In The Fall of Reach, Halsey even mentions that John, Fred and co didn't need to communicate; they just instinctively knew what the other was doing and when they were going to do it. Equal parts to the whole. It's what made the team special.
+shinypinecone I found the behaviors due to their origins. Spartan IV's were humans that gained superhuman abilities and power suits. They're basically high on becoming super-soldiers. Spartan IIs were always supersoldiers, hellish training since childhood and hellish augmentations at the beginning of puberty. They probably view themselves as just soldiers and won't do anything flashier than a normal soldier would.
Ever since they announced that Team Osiris is going to be going after Blue Team in Halo 5, my first thought has been "How could this newly formed team of spartan IV's, with no experience working together, ever hope to take on Blue Team?" Just seems to me like they wouldn't stand a chance. We're literally talking about the most experienced, fluid, and lethal squad humanity has ever known. Hell, most of their dialogue in this cut-scene was filler, since Blue Team communicates so well with each other that none of it would have been necessary. Anyone else feel that way?
The Master Chief could easily take on Osiris, even without any support from Blue Team. This can be noticed in the cutscenes, where with the intro for Osiris, you can simply just see them flying around all over the place, shooting in no defined direction and it does not matter that Locke is the leader of Osiris, as with Osiris it really is hard to identfy any sense of true leadership. However, with Blue team, you can see in this cutscene that, their movements and targets are direct and they execute those manuvers with precision rather than unncessarily firing and wasting bullets just to make a big scene and leave massive destruction in their path. True, some people may say that Blue teams intro is not as fast paced and as action packed as Osiris' intro, but then again, Blue Teams orders were not to go make a big scene and destroy everything in their sight on Argent Moon, they were simply ordered to retrieve Argent Moon from Covenant grasp. Not to mention the fact that, with Blue Team there is defined and clear sense of Leadership, that Master Chief leads Blue Team no questions asked. Any order that he gives, the rest of Blue Team obey. This is why Osiris will never have any chance against the Master Chief, let alone the rest of Blue Team.
After watching both Fire Team Osiris and Blue Team's trailers back to back I'm loving what 343i is showing us in regards to just how different the teams are: -While Blue Team seems focused and reserved, Osiris seems untested and chatty. -Blue Team is ready to go in full armor, while Osiris mills around without helmets, only putting them on just before they jump. -Osiris is surrounded by new tech and gadgets, both on their armor and in their drop ship, while Blue Team travels in a stripped down Pelican. -Osiris jumps individually and Locke is the last to leave , while Blue Team jumps together with Chief in the lead. -Osiris' trailer shows off the speed, agility, and new tech at the disposal of the Spartan IVs, while Blue Team shows experience, seasoning, and wisdom. All in all, Blue Team shows that they are a singular unit, utterly professional, that has worked together for a considerable amount of time with a clear leader they care about and will follow anywhere, while Osiris highlights the individuality of each Spartan IV and how they function as a group of individuals. The differences in tech and technique, and whether or not one is more superior to the other, will sure be interesting when the two sides finally meet.
I just love how Fred cares about Chief. This emotion in his voice. One can immedietely grasp this specific bond between the Spartans - their unique brotherhood.
+DatSniperBietch Professional? Team Osiris had to act fast, Blue Team had time in their favor. And for the avengers thing, that's how Spartans fight when they rip through an army.
I’m an old Veteran. Some combat experience, but not like many others. My grandkids are HALO fanatics, and I’ve been reading/watching videos about Master Chief. It’s amazing!
@@zombiebombcorp8224 What pissed me off the most, that while I read all the books about MC in boot camp, and Linda and Fred and the other, not everyone did. They started this game wondering who the hell these people were. That pissed me off so much...
Yeah, the Osiris opening felt like it was too easy for the Spartans. *Everything* went their way. Blue teams was simple, but badass: they didn't have to do anything besides break a window to take out 5 elites.
Turk3YbAstEr It's an amazing visual contrast that shows the vast differences between these two generations of Spartans. Osiris does a dynamic entry right on top of the covenant remnants, plowing through everything in broad daylight, fighting individually and loudly in brighter colors (except Buck and Locke, who're ex spec ops and a former spy, respectively. Even then, Locke has some very vibrant pipping). Blue Team quietly exits their pelican clad in mostly muted colors in the darkness of space while maintaining stealth and doesn't even fire a single shot at the enemy combatants in front of them because they're not their objective in perfect sync. Even the names of their teams are contrasting.
Thus far, I've been reading a lot of "It doesn't feel Halo enough." To be perfectly honest, I like the way this trailer was done. We see Chief with his family (finally), and they're worried about him. We can actually see true emotion in what is a FPS, which is a welcome change. Now the action. Gunshots in space, I don't really care. And sure it was short, but that was the point. With Osiris Team, they're compensating for the fact we don't know alot about their team. So they hit with a lot of action to make them "badass." We don't need that here. We know who they are, what they can do and how this will end. Its the presence they get right. They don't need to prove their prowess. We already know it.
TheBlkpeople Well of course. A sealed shell casing has the oxygen necessary to create the combustion to propel the bullet after the firing pin strikes the primer.
2:02 i just love how Chief and the rest of his team just kept their position and was sliding across the floor while the other elites just fell into space!

Lovin' the fact the Elites said Unggoy instead of Grunts. It's those little touches that make me so excited this far into the series. Add that with Blue team, the all-stars of the Halo Universe, and its hard to not get hyped.
JIGgameoverSAW I know, and that was silly. They should've called 'em Sangheili. Why would they use the human term? :p But yeah, I hope they keep using the actual names.
+Hazzer It's because of the way Forerunner translation technology works. The Elites don't speak English, for the most part. Basically, you hear what they meant in your language. So if you think of a Sangheili as an Elite, you'll hear the word "Elite".
this scene is so much more badass then fireteam osiris's opening. they made a stealthy (somewhat) enterance. killed about a dozen elites WITHOUT using any ammo on them.... thats real tactics. Blue team was capable of taking down an entire covenant armada by themselves. they were the perfect killing machines. many ppl will take the more "guns blazing" intro over this, but true halo fans know what these guys are about. i really appreciated this scene, thank you 343i.
another thing to add, fireteam osiris is a group of ADULTS who BECAME spartans at a LATE age. MC and crew were trained since a very young age. they have tons of experience over the new spartans. plus all the augmentations that happened. they were extremely fast, intelligent, and built with raw power, in a 1000 pound suit that acted like a second skin with a neurological device that linked your suite to your brain so it could "predict" your movements so you became even more fluid. nothing against osiris, they have shown they deserve recognition. they also are not true spartans.
+TheSpectralForce only the UNSC/ONI soldiers call the aliens with nicknames like Brutes, Grunts, Elites, Jackals. Jiralhanae, Unggoy, Sangheili and Kig-Yar
***** Well, in Halo 2 and 3 the covenant also would use those nicknames. Not just UNSC. Which was likely done not to cause confusion. But now it looks like they're going to be using the species names more often. It's a nice touch.
I'm glad to hear some classic halo tunes. I miss the Marty O'Donnell sound in the Halo franchise. Halo 4 just wasn't the same as the others without it.
not sure if you noticed, but that opening had the Requiem theme in it as well, seems they are mixing the best of Halo 4 with the classic themes of old.
+Bryan Kilmer I heard there are two style of soundtrack in Halo 5, the original for Blue team missions and the new ( Halo 4) style for Osiris team missions.
+Andrew Seiler I'd say Halo 4 had the more master chief music in it. It was more personal. Especially the 117 theme and the mantis theme was badass. But Halo 1-3 had more epic music for the adventure. Halo 4 was more personal and grand while Halo 1-3 was more epic and adventurous.
+LoneWolf1897 but the game was a total failure and listening to Halo 5's OST makes you cry literally because of nostalgia and wishing this game was better
It's just because it's a new take on the franchise. I don't think that's a bad thing, it's great to see something you love interpreted in a new and unique way.
+ThaBurger29 I think this depends on the Spartan-IVs in question. Lockes team seem to take things seriously and Gabriel Thorne from spartan ops "Halo infinity" isn't that bad. As Halsey said when Thorne asks if she thinks the S-IVs are incapable being proper Spartans. "Perhaps some of you are closer than others"
1:02 ''Here you go...'' ''Thanks Kelly'' This moment, with the music in the background, just made me feel sad and warm and fuzzy at the same time... The way Kelly says that while giving him his weapon has a touch of compassion, as if she understood what he was going through. And hearing Chief say ''Thanks'' is so...New...We're so used to seeing him as a machine. But here, he is with his family. It's so different. But it's all for the better. It's so exciting seeing Chief cope with the loss of Cortana while being flanked by his best friends... Sad and heartwarming at the same time. Moins
+Xbox I'm so excited to see what Halo 5 has to offer on the story side! So far, it looks amazing! I sure do hope you also have an Arbiter trailer for us! Many people like him a lot. He has a lot of charisma and history behind him.
Bungie missed a serious opportunity when they were making Halo by not including the remaining Spartan II's. I cannot wait to see Chief with Blue Team and where 343i is planning on taking this.
+Lion_Turtle that is one of the reasons i like 343 much more than Bunge. 343 really respects the lore set up in the books and really tries to connect the boocks more to the games. Bunge didn't seem to care to much about the books as evidence by their drastic changes in halo reach that contradicted events set up in the book the fall of reach. Don't get me wrong the Bunge Halo games are amazing and the stories are great but i feel 343 is doing a better job at expanding the universe and making the characters much more deep and realistic "making them much closer to their depictions in the books.
Well good news, it doesn't matter! Most of the original team behind halo is STILL making halo! Apparently they quit making destiny or were fired because....... Well, activision. Your gonna get a great halo man, see you in the warzone!
I agree, Bungie after 2 was kinda.... dull. No lore respect no essence to the mythology. Nothing but focus on multi-player. Hated thats about Reach & 3. 343 does it perfectly. A good Balance between the two. But hey, they got boring ol' Destiny now lol
+Mishikiawa Reach was Good, so was ODST, Halo 3 was kinda disappointing. Especially that it was over so quick when its supposed to be the great fight between Humans/Separatist, Covenant and Flood.
And I feel now is the appropriate time to ADD blue team, and other Spartanll's, bcuz we've already generated a great love for the main character bcuz he's all we've known, and also because chief is amazing. Adding blue team in many halo games ago wouldn't of had the same effect as it does now.
The members have been in the games before sort of in the halo 2 anniversary we see Fred and I think it was linda in a terminal then in halo 1 Linda is on the pillar of autumn or was on it she was ejected into space in her cryopod it's all explained in the books which are canon.
Orcaman15 Wow for real? Elites are allies in Halo 3, and Halo 4 is almost entirely about fighting Prometheans. I don't really care that you completely misunderstood my comment, but dude, if you really feel the need to brag to complete strangers, at least present something that matters :)
+Praxographist If Elites were that powerful, don't you think the Human race would have gone extinct in like, five to ten years? The only thing that hindered the Covenant advance was the spartans. Master Chief is the strongest Spartan, so he could well have defeated him.
+Xbox if you could do us a favor and get rid of 343 and bring back bungie that would be great thanks. I'm pretty sure you guys are aware by now that 343 is running your flagship title into the ground and selling less copies and less Xbox ones.
BLUE TEAM FTW! So awesome to be able to show people what this looks like! I got to see it in Toronto at X15 when it was work in progress. Now it's here! :D
Finally, a Halo 5 trailer that reminds everyone that this story is about Master Chief! Move on over Osiris, because Blue Team is ready to take center stage!
While I was hoping for a more badass opening scene from Chief and Blue Team, comparing it to Fireteam Osiris's is pretty unfair. One seems to be a more of a precision operation, whilst the other is an open field battle.
TH3dutch yeah I'm sure that's what the devs are going for. I'm talking about seeing so many comments moaning about how either 'Osiris are not a team' or 'Blue team are the adult spartans' etc etc. You can't really compare them in that respect.
Bro...they invaded a Covenant ship and took down all the targets by shooting a window. No kill shots were aimed at the enemy. IN ADDITION, they looked them in the eyes before everyone was flung into the vacuum of space. Blue Team > Osiris This game is just getting better and better from what I've seen. #haloisnotdead
2:10 Halo announcer voice: DOUBLE KILL! TRIPLE KILL! OVERKILL! KILLTACULAR! KILLING SPREE! BULLTRUE! And just for being Master Chief, UNFRIGGINBELIEVEABLE!
+Tim David Didact was explained perfectly in the Librarian cutscene. And Blue Team are Johns training buddies who rose up with him before they got split up on Reach. Fall of Reach Animated Series hits soon and it only takes small chatter to inform people what they mean to each other.
+Mark R You know how in Halo Reach, Noble team was basically family to eachother? Blue team is John's family. If you ever watched the Halo 4: Forward unto dawn live action series or whatever it was called, the two spartans with chief at the end are part of blue team :D
***** Yeah previous Halo games did better with character development yet left one of the most important characters to the universe out of the games.... Halsey. Can't claim better Character Development when she's the master mind behind so much and yet was left off to the side in favor of wrapping things up. Seriously you're calling the Wolfenstein franchise "good stories"... not a single Wolfenstein game had a decent story, it was just pathetic. It was awesome for gameplay but story was weak as hell.
I watched the comparisons between Osiris entrance and Blue team. All the effort that Osiris puts forth and look how easy blue team takes their objective :)

Agree man! its something that kinda bothers me 2!
+Hazzer It's because of the way Forerunner translation technology works. The Elites don't speak English, for the most part. Basically, you hear what they meant in your language. So if you think of a Sangheili as an Elite, you'll hear the word "Elite".
The character interactions in this cutscene alone shows that Halo has more heart than the average 1st person shooter.
this scene is so much more badass then fireteam osiris's opening. they made a stealthy (somewhat) enterance. killed about a dozen elites WITHOUT using any ammo on them.... thats real tactics.
+CodiakLBJfan yes we watched the video too not to mention master chief himself has done even more
CodiakLBJfan but buck was an awesome ODST
CodiakLBJfan they did use ammo tho lol
@@jsiabot3467 yeah to shoot down the window
Interesting to see them using species names instead of the nicknames (Unngoy = Grunt). I feel like that was a rare occurrence in past games.

+XTHEGOLDENSTORMX Nothing wrong with that. But I heard its around 990p.
Ratkill9000 Its dynamic 1080p resolution. So it'll drop for intensive moments, but can still reach a max of 1080p
+Andrew Seiler They better bring back the classics. One of the few things i didnt like with the 4th Halo
+Sarge Recognize Did you even watch the video? :>
It's like a combination of Halo 4 and 3 soundtrack, it's beautifull
We love how the score all came together! It sounds awesome!
+Xbox it is awesome
+LoneWolf1897 but the game was a total failure and listening to Halo 5's OST makes you cry literally because of nostalgia and wishing this game was better
+LoneWolf1897 the thing about Halo 4 is it didn't have that strong of a Halo feel.
It's just because it's a new take on the franchise. I don't think that's a bad thing, it's great to see something you love interpreted in a new and unique way.

Finally we get to see some of the adult Spartans.
+Happyfunrun These are real spartans, the 3s as well. "Spartan" 4s are childish idiots who have not earned the right to be called a spartan.
+ThaBurger29 agree! Spartans are trained from their childhood. Spartan IV's not so no Spartans....
+Happyfunrun dahm straight
+ThaBurger29 Fair sure Buck deserves to be called a Spartan.
Even though the campaign wasn’t great you gotta admit this scene was epic

''Here you go...''
''Thanks Kelly''
This moment, with the music in the background, just made me feel sad and warm and fuzzy at the same time...

Yesssss someone finally understands the significance of this.
Just wait 'til you see more!
+Xbox I'm so excited to see what Halo 5 has to offer on the story side! So far, it looks amazing! I sure do hope you also have an Arbiter trailer for us! Many people like him a lot. He has a lot of charisma and history behind him.
@@xbox HI XBOX
+Mishikiawa
Reach was Good, so was ODST, Halo 3 was kinda disappointing.
They cleared an entire hanger bay, with high ranking elites and the only shots they fired was to enable an entrance. Incredible

720p
+XTHEGOLDENSTORMX 1 does it matter? Lol
The members have been in the games before sort of in the halo 2 anniversary we see Fred and I think it was linda in a terminal then in halo 1 Linda is on the pillar of autumn or was on it she was ejected into space in her cryopod it's all explained in the books which are canon.
yea, we've seen em before, just not all together
+XTHEGOLDENSTORMX 1 lol it's 1080p where did you get that from?
Fun thing is that, in a normal game situation, that silver elite with the plasma sword would've killed 117 instantly.
+Praxographist Then you must really REALLY suck at Halo, because I haven't been killed by a sword weilding Elite since Halo 2.
Orcaman15 Wow for real? Elites are allies in Halo 3, and Halo 4 is almost entirely about fighting Prometheans.
I don't really care that you completely misunderstood my comment, but dude, if you really feel the need to brag to complete strangers, at least present something that matters :)
+Orcaman15 - Prax doesn't get it lol
Shane Leonard Apparently not. Someone doesnt know how fast Spartan reflexes are
+Praxographist If Elites were that powerful, don't you think the Human race would have gone extinct in like, five to ten years? The only thing that hindered the Covenant advance was the spartans. Master Chief is the strongest Spartan, so he could well have defeated him.
1:24 chief gets flashbacks of the time his original team flew in space and lost 2 spartans.......... that music tho really gives me halo legends vibes

LightningBum if only it were that easy
Yeah...
we're it so easy
I love how nobody started flying out of the ship until Blue Team posed for the camera and that one elite drew their blade.
The last time a spartan looked at his helmet he got an energy sword through the gut.
While I was hoping for a more badass opening scene from Chief and Blue Team, comparing it to Fireteam Osiris's is pretty unfair. One seems to be a more of a precision operation, whilst the other is an open field battle.
This scene was amazing. It respects the Master Chiefs " charismatic arrogant" style. He's always 100% in control of everything.
I feel you bro
+TheManOfRash pretty sure that's the point. It's creating a contrast between Osiris and Blue team.
Blue Team > Osiris
This game is just getting better and better from what I've seen. #haloisnotdead
