In the original fall of reach book all Spartans had the same armor, which makes more sense as it would be logistically hard to maintain these suits even if they are the same.
I like this prologue, not only because the hype for Master Chief and the animation, but also because it shows how Halsey specifically has changed. In the Fall of Reach book, they brought up multiple times how Halsey didn’t want to proceed with the spartan program and how she knew that nothing would make up for the pain it would inflict on them, but here, decades later, she’s prideful and arrogant on her lack of morals.

I’m gonna be honest, the halo 4 version of the mark 6 is probably my favorite version and probably my favorite mjolnir of all time. Even though the changes to the halo 4 armor in halo 5 were subtle, I still prefer halo 4.
@@Stellarnaut the reason for the anger towards it is because that armour design doesnt add up with the timeline. As much somewhat in hindsight misdirected excessive negative criticism as Halo 4 and 5 have received, this cutscene makes up for so much. Felt like a true inheritance of the secret fire left behind by Halo 3.
I’d like to point out for 40 million dollars worth of budget, we got the beautiful game of Halo 4. The camera work and angles, the showcasing of set pieces and character traits, and the story telling all done at near perfection. Halo: TV series with a budget of 100 million wasted so much resources and squandered its time so badly it damaged all characters involved, the story has been degraded heavily in both thought provocation and message relay, and finally it has harmed the legacy of something that would go on the inspire generations of gamers and storytellers. But, now here we are.
They were augmented at 14 years old if I remember right. Soon after they encountered the covenant. Idk how soon- Ok math: John born 2511 right? Plus 14 years is 2525. So within months. Damn.
Far and away the best thing about Halo 4 was the theme that Spartans, and soldiers more broadly, are not tools, they're still people with feelings, and even if they struggle to connect with others, they're not just ruthless killing machines. It's a great corollary to the legend of the Chief built in the previous trilogy, pulling away that layer and showing his more human side, struggles and all. Sadly the rest of the game didn't focus on it as much as it should have, but I think Infinite actually did an excellent job with the premise
The show writers at paramount could have learned a lot just by watching 1:30. Too bad they insisted on their own narrative and refused to play the games or read the books.
This one cutscene is better than the entire paramount Halo TV series. My only gripe was that during the flashbacks in this cutscene, the designs of the spartans and the covenant were in the new, Halo 4 artstyle with the spartans rocking GEN2 MJOLNIR. They should have been wearing MK-IV or MK-V.
Doctor Halsey is doing her part, only thing is that she never ask the children to be spartans. But she was acting in the best for humanity. Don’t forget in real live this happens
The biggest problem with this cutscene is that every single spartan looks like Chief when all of it takes place near the beginning of the war or at least before Combat Evolved.
Can we please address the fact that the interviewer was voiced by Steve Downes (master chief) and Halsey says he's "different". Why was this never addressed in halo 5? 343i dropping the ball again...
Imagine being a random 6 year old, making sand castles, and making choo choo train sounds and out of no where you become part of the UNSC spartan II program and now you are fighting for the survival of the human race.
Yet because of their mindset, courage, and combat ability humanity is still standing at that point in time, Halsey may not have been the best figure but she sure as hell was one of the big reasons humanity is not extinct
@@joshuawillis602 for all the wrong she did it, she was, if not the most factor in why humanity was able to survive as long as it I did, the ones who’s hands who get their hands dirty are the ones who get punished the most, however much their actions may have contributed to the situation and survival
@@TM-nu2iz true however that doesn’t change the fact that she kidnapped children and forced them into something they didn’t want. Which is why it’s controversial. She had a huge impact in the war but she ruined lives in the process.
Not just humanity, The Covenant's Great Journey would have meant the end of all life in the known galaxy. Unlike the last time, there were no plans for reseeding life.
We've been hovering around photorealistic CGI for awhile now. The only problem is rendering time. This was the followup to one of the greatest game trilogies of all time, and it's relatively short.
That scene at 1:10 is frightening, it's pretty much a swarm attacking a city.
Idc what anyone says I really like halo 4. Was it the best?? Of course not, but I think it’s pretty damn good imo. I wish it was a little longer tho. I remember when I got this for Christmas this prologue scene gave me goosebumps and still does to this day!!! I hope infinite is solid game that the new fans and the old fans can unite together.
so many years later and this still gives me goosebumps
This game had so much potential...I love it though in its own way❤
I’m gonna be honest, the halo 4 version of the mark 6 is probably my favorite version and probably my favorite mjolnir of all time. Even though the changes to the halo 4 armor in halo 5 were subtle, I still prefer halo 4.
Say this on any halo forum and you'll get crucified. The silhouette of this design was perfect. People couldn't take off the nostalgia glasses.
The new design for chief fits the cinematics a lot better than the old design ever would.
@@Stellarnaut the reason for the anger towards it is because that armour design doesnt add up with the timeline. This cinematic shows chief in mk.vi armour when they had gen1 mk iv armour so its not really anything to do with nostalgia but actually having to do with plot holes and the timeline. I do enjoy the design but i also dislike the decision to make it seem like they all already had that armour when the covanent invaded reach
As much somewhat in hindsight misdirected excessive negative criticism as Halo 4 and 5 have received, this cutscene makes up for so much. Felt like a true inheritance of the secret fire left behind by Halo 3.
I love how the atmosphere changed from 2:00 to the end chills for days
Goosebumps every time the Spartans drop in
These cutscenes are better than any of the TV show.
2:17 is my favorite moment. Just a really cool sequence between a brute and a Spartan.
And also 3:03, a slow, confident walk in front of marines.
Some give Digic the money to make a movie, PLEASE.
Man I just got finish watching the paramount series... this 4min cutscene is way more compelling and interesting
Everyone should remember all the Spartans 2s where just kids at the beginning of the human covenant war fighting aliens
Like how old do you think?
@@johnsantos6027 teenage years
They were augmented at 14 years old if I remember right. Soon after they encountered the covenant. Idk how soon-
Ok math:
John born 2511 right? Plus 14 years is 2525. So within months. Damn.
This was the absolute coolest trailer in the history of video games. a true shame that they didnt expand on it much in the campaign.
I got goosebumps watching this....
Still gives me goosebumps
1:18 Dr Halsey you're bending history for your own favor and you know it. 😐😐
wish Paramount would take notes. This is how you show chief's face with out disrespecting the character.
1:33
Did that elite just stab mark Zuckerberg??
1:30
I can't believe Mark Zuckerberg died in the during the Human Covenant war
Lol
2:14 finally found the scene where that one gif came from
Halsey (Bungie): What does John have to do with this? You want to replace him
Mystery man (343i): ...
It's been 2 years...still funny.
@@chinesecovidanalswabs4752 what's the matter being 2 years old
I remember getting Halo 4 with my 360 and being so excited to play it, all I could do was watch this and play the minigames though
As divisive as this game is. The graphics still look great.
1:13 pretty badass shot
2:14. It’s almost heartbreaking to see. Just how alone is John? How lonely do you think he feels?
Far and away the best thing about Halo 4 was the theme that Spartans, and soldiers more broadly, are not tools, they're still people with feelings, and even if they struggle to connect with others, they're not just ruthless killing machines. It's a great corollary to the legend of the Chief built in the previous trilogy, pulling away that layer and showing his more human side, struggles and all. Sadly the rest of the game didn't focus on it as much as it should have, but I think Infinite actually did an excellent job with the premise
Man it’s hard to be believe that I was a Junior in high school when this came out
Almost 9 years ago... Jeez. Good thing i was entering middle school, i'd be almost 30 otherwise 👀
2 years out of high school for me lol i was 20, 2012 it came out i believe
“You can talk about my children all you like but dont you dare talk to me about me son”
This could have been the series we got.
This could have been the chief we got.
Instead we insult him.
That is false
@@LegendaryPkl wait you’re talking about the tv show? I thought you were talking about the game
I love this intro... excellent work guys!

when they were talking about replacing him they must have been talking about Spartan lock
Pfffffffftt
@@whatevercloud6654 I'm with there bro. locke can't hold a candle to john
The acting is amazing.. even the tone of her voice.. typical halsey
I wonder if this guy is one of the washouts of the augmentations that wants payback
1:31 Mark Zuckerberg gets kiled in the Human-Covenant war
Seeing an army of spartan ii’s =👌😁
Col. Commissar Ibram Gaunt
Well I meant like in a group of more than I one or two being dropped and deployed.
Stellar work as usual.
The show writers at paramount could have learned a lot just by watching 1:30. Too bad they insisted on their own narrative and refused to play the games or read the books.
This is my pre-gym hype
I liked the new version of the brute chieftain and how big they are in halo 4
Still can’t believe this isn’t live action
What are those things coming out of the ship at 1:14 I think they’re banshees but I’m not 100% sure
00:39 Like a real person! Great work.

The first time I saw that intro on the game I thought they was real actors D:
Amazing animation
When you find Mark Zuckerberg in the metaverse. 1:31
Still the absolute best cutscene in the entire franchise.
Can we please address the fact that the interviewer was voiced by Steve Downes (master chief) and Halsey says he's "different". Why was this never addressed in halo 5? 343i dropping the ball again...
'Katherine, Spartans never die' what a scene.
This game is rated 13+ here in New Zealand.
Anyone know the name of the soundtrack in this cinematic?
Edit: it’s Sacrifice by Kazuma Jinnouchi
Imagine being a random 6 year old, making sand castles, and making choo choo train sounds and out of no where you become part of the UNSC spartan II program and now you are fighting for the survival of the human race.
Happens to best of us
@@gameoveror7970 Literally haha
Man I love this cutscene.
This could work for a potential Halo movie series
Yet because of their mindset, courage, and combat ability humanity is still standing at that point in time, Halsey may not have been the best figure but she sure as hell was one of the big reasons humanity is not extinct
She’s the living definition of controversy. Her experiments were horrible and monstrous but it was enormous in making sure that humanity survived.
@@joshuawillis602 I agree with you on that, her actions were accepted by many but it paved the way for humanity
Not just humanity, The Covenant's Great Journey would have meant the end of all life in the known galaxy. Unlike the last time, there were no plans for reseeding life.
Why is this so realistic looking
We've been hovering around photorealistic CGI for awhile now. The only problem is rendering time. This was the followup to one of the greatest game trilogies of all time, and it's relatively short. So it made sense to render something this computationally intensive. What strikes me though, is HOW LONG the master chief collection is, and they rerendered ALL the cutscenes beautifully. That really surprised me, when I found out how far they were willing to go for the remaster.
Children sleep in big helmets.
You would think they would have a tracker on Chiefs suit to find him on the Forward unto Dawn
I really hated how that guy believes he has right to decide what is human and what is not
