Big fan of watching these katana forging videos, this one in particular was tremendous. An absolutely beautiful sword and a joy to watch the making of it.
Oh, if I were rich, I'd throw you dollar bills and demand to own this masterpiece But I'll simply congratulate you and praise your work : it's GORGEOUS like daaaaaaaaaaaamn 🥶🥶🥶the engraved sakura flowers are my favorite detail of the katana 😍😍
Im a bit fan of sekiro and his mortal blade, and this is amazing especially with the personal touches. If this version is sold anywhere i would 100% buy it.
Hermoso trabajo, te felicito 👏🏻👏🏻🙇🏻♂️ solo voy resaltar a modo constructivo algunos detalles.
Great video! You’re the only person I’ve seen make these swords, im glad lesser known blades from fiction are being represented. Have you read the Wheel of Time? The Heron marked sword that Rand uses would be amazing in real life!!
It's not common knowledge that "Mortal Blade" is actually not the name of this sword. The actual name can be found buried in the item description and in one on-screen message when it's used to defeat a certain boss - "Gracious Gift of Tears".
This is a masterpiece how can you forge this, I mean I can’t even hammer a thing together without it having a flaw😅 But can you try and make vergils Yamato? And you earned yourself a new subsriber gl.
Not bad, keep up the work. My only constructive criticism would be work on your tsukamaki and engraving. Not sure how long you've been forging and crafting, but you've got promise! Way better than I am.
Yea that's what I was thinking too. Was going to say the tsuka looked too bulky but when looking at the animation in the beginning of the video it does seem to have that bulkiness to it. The ito wrapping could have been better though.
i noticed that u applied a clay for the purpose of differential hardening thus creating a hamon. but the hamon doesnt seem to work out at any stage after the quench. got any idea why?
the looks of the in lay design at the top of the blade looks like it was rush and not pleasing to the eye and for those people who said its beautiful doesnt know what they are saying
I mean, it's impressive that he at least made a Sekiro sword. If you're not pleased and want to one-up, make a better Mortal Blade yourself. People can't even appreciate hard work anymore.
I think the traditional Japanese swordmaking technique is great, but that doesn't mean I have to do it like them, I do it in my own way, with the skills I have, and these swords are not for everyone. for war!
so much right and wrong with this. its not actually a katana, its more like a tachi but it isnt that either. the quenching process is supposed to impart a hamon, it sort of did but your polishing process basically covered up what was there. Also that wire wrap was a terrible idea. the quenching process is supposed to impart a curvature into the blade, without which it cannot rightly be called a katana or tachi. The handle....is way too fat and the wrap was complete dog shit; i KNOW youc an do better because the actual sword, despite it not being a katana, was WONDERFULLY crafted. For someone who clearly learned on yutube you did stunning work. I am a trained bladesmith and i have to say yoube done quite well. Next time, put way less clay on the spine and quench in WATER, not oil. Also get the blade a skosh hotter. Dont use 5160 either, use 1080 or 1095 if you want beautiful hamon.
OH ! It's great to hear your opinions. I know I'm not good in this field, but I will always learn and listen to everyone's opinions. I have absolutely no training in this field. Forging katanas just for my own hobby, I'm always self-taught,,

Although I like this design, this is not a katana at all. its something that looks like a katana.
It's an odachi
Chill bro, by that logic if all decorative katanas weren't allowed to be called katanas we would all have a hard time speaking English to each other

YES !!!!
Masterful work.
IT IS BEAUTIFUL ...
😢Why do you erase the hamon hardening line?
thats a great sword with a lot of art based on simple working methods, I wonder why you not sign the TANG as the old sword makers do, LIKE
Thats the mortal blade of sekiro 😮
Great work
хотелось бы увидеть на деле, было бы неплохо провести тестирование меча
IM very pleasant !
What clay mix are you using here?
i noticed that u applied a clay for the purpose of differential hardening thus creating a hamon. but the hamon doesnt seem to work out at any stage after the quench. got any idea why?
The quench is were the hardening happens. So the clay let's the spine of the sword cool down slower than the edge keeping it softer
The metal work is beautiful - congratulation! But why don't you learn to make a good handel (tsuka)?
Thank you, maybe I will do it in the future!
What is the purpose behind wrapping the blade in wire before applying the clay?
It keeps the clay from losing its bond and falling apart when exposed to high temperatures
@@Arts-and-Crafts brilliant, i didn't think of that before

how many thickness that sword ?
Yoooo.... masterpiece

Why would you wanna hammer metal while it's cold
essa katana esta parecendo muito marombada para mim, apesar de ser linda esta muito grossa.
Metal pin can damage the blade and the real mortal blade is two times longer than this one
