- SEKIRO is a great role playing game, and the katanas in it are beautiful. For a katana lover like me, I always wanted to have it for myself, so I decided to make one of the katana in the game in my own style. You replicated the handguard on “Open Gate” perfectly!
I kinda wish the blade could have been black but I bet coating the blade would have been an absolute pain.
That guard was absolutely beautiful.
the only issue i had with the sword is that its canonically an odachi, not a katana. And the colors arent true to the game, but i think the personalized spin looks super cool! it really is a work of art and i hope you continue to make awesome swords like this.
no way its a nodachi man, the animation and damage range is huge, but when you see it in cutscenes it is just a katana, has a very short blade. the ink effect of the mortal draw extends off the blade when wielded.
It says it's a katana in the description of the weapon
@@uchiha617hh Its true. The dimensions of the blade in the game arent perfect. It has a shorter handle than what is typically used. but the game description does actually use, Odachi in its item description. But the kusabimaru is actually a much smaller blade in comparison to the Mortal blade.

Really well made Katana, nailed the blade geometry, you paid a lot of attention to detail on the Fuchi Kashira (Fittings and Itto Wrap) and it shows. My only Gripes are that you didn't make a set of Menuki to go with it, and the Kissaki (Point of the blade) is a little heavier than I prefer... other than that you Nailed It. :)
P.S. you'll find that if you step forward and engage your core while making a cut it will be a lot easier to control

its amazing and you even forged the katana correctly. however for this spacific katana its supposed to be pointy (similer to a long sword) at the tip. still an amazing job though.

So just to clarify; is this the Black Mortal Blade, Kaimon (Open Gate), but with a golden colour?
I was confused when I saw the gold being added, as I don’t remember any golden katanas in the game, lol.

really amazing sword but you shouldnt struggle to take the katana out of the scabbard you need to widen the inside of the scabbard or just the entry to the scabbard
True. The first attack with this weapon throughout history is the Unsheathe.
people have been decapitated from a person Unsheathing their sword.

It's actually Kusabimaru which can deflect wave of wind and a giant serpent attack at ease

Remember kids, whenever you go to buy a sword in your favorite RPG, this is the kind of work that blacksmiths have to go through, so never complain about the price
What is the name of the black liquid that you use to age bronze???
The second mortal blade doesn't have a sheath like this, it's Black and have horizontal linings across the sheath , and it had a dark and very visible hamon on the blade and it's double edged, and the sword is a tachi or maybe even a Nodachi so it's longer and it had a white cloth strings handle wrapping and it has shark or stingray leathers wrapping underneath it, but you nailed the hand guard tho, still a lot of space for improvement keep it up

sekira a legendary game that needs no introduction just like dark souls this sword came out just like the game´s just perfect more finally blacksmith if you have time try to forge some sword from the berserk manga you don´t even have to be the dragon slayer it can even be a hammer it would stil be very epic

i was planning to make a katana, so i have some questions, the shape of the blade has to be made with particular measures, like the radius of curvature of the blade or the degrees of the edge of the blade (where it cuts i mean) or something else? if anyone knows it's welcome

I have a few suggestions for you, the katana has specifications for the thickness, length and width of the blade, you can refer to it on google, depending on the weight and height of the person holding it, and about the height of the blade. The curvature of the blade is due to the eye of the craftsman, so that it harmonizes the blade and the hilt! good luck
