I always eat cheese and onion crisps after eating chocolate, its pretty nice. Those bars were disgusting though if I remember. Tayto invented cheese and onion flavouring in crisps, Tayto are actually really good crisps too.

My mother loves vegemite but even she can't stand it raw. I have this odd memory of buying a bar of Marmite chocolate in Robert Dyas Homestores of all places - they had a promotional display box of it at the till, so it was an impulse buy. Not sure if it was a Cadburys creation, but I do remember that instead of having a layer of Marmite sandwiched between layers of chocolate (like your Vegemite chocolate), the Marmite was somehow mixed into the chocolate. Not a huge amount of Marmite (perhaps 5% at most), but just enough to give a salted-caramel type aftertaste to the chocolate, which was weirdly pleasant.

Yeah those big slabs of Cadbury chocolate are quite normal in Australia and New Zealand. Vegemite is only good in VERY small quantities. In chocolate that would be horrible.

Yeah... Tayto crisps tend to have a strong flavour. Now you have to try actual Tayto Cheese and Onion crisps for comparison's sake. I think the reason why Tayto created the bar was because the combination of chocolate and Cheese and Onion crisps would be a flavour Irish people would be familiar with from their childhood. Never got to try it when they were originally out, but I didn't hear too many complaints about the flavour. Given how out of date the bar is, the chocolate and crisp flavourings could have reacted in... interesting ways.
When two people sent Ashens the same horrific chocolate bar - with the same batch number - separately, that should have been a tornado-warning level alarm.
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only Australian that found the Vegemite chocolate absolutely foul. Everyone I knew loved it, and I was so confused as to why they did.
I could only eat a few pieces at a time I found it to be a rather interesting salted caramel type thing but it wasn't great. It was more for the interesting experience.

I have this odd memory of buying a bar of Marmite chocolate in Robert Dyas Homestores of all places - they had a promotional display box of it at the till, so it was an impulse buy. Not sure if it was a Cadburys creation, but I do remember that instead of having a layer of Marmite sandwiched between layers of chocolate (like your Vegemite chocolate), the Marmite was somehow mixed into the chocolate. Not a huge amount of Marmite (perhaps 5% at most), but just enough to give a salted-caramel type aftertaste to the chocolate, which was weirdly pleasant.

@@Zach-h2l Yes they sell the big blocks ( I think 10x10 sqares of choc) in supermarkets next to that smaller one that Ashens had but they also sell the small one serving pack of chocolate aswell

Yeah those big slabs of Cadbury chocolate are quite normal in Australia and New Zealand. Vegemite is only good in VERY small quantities. In chocolate that would be horrible.

Yeah... Tayto crisps tend to have a strong flavour. Now you have to try actual Tayto Cheese and Onion crisps for comparison's sake.
I think the reason why Tayto created the bar was because the combination of chocolate and Cheese and Onion crisps would be a flavour Irish people would be familiar with from their childhood. Never got to try it when they were originally out, but I didn't hear too many complaints about the flavour. Given how out of date the bar is, the chocolate and crisp flavourings could have reacted in... interesting ways.
When two people sent Ashens the same horrific chocolate bar - with the same batch number - separately, that should have been a tornado-warning level alarm.

I could only eat a few pieces at a time I found it to be a rather interesting salted caramel type thing but it wasn't great. It was more for the interesting experience.
