McCurry 's photos are the most memorable, they are so beautiful I have never forgotten the afghan girl when she was young and later. He is the best photographer as far as I am concerned. 😊 6:59

Man, no other photographer hypes me up to travel & shoot photo's like McCurry does, I love travelling to the countries he's shot in. His body of work is just phenomenal and never gets boring, he's mastered the art of capturing someone's soul! Great video mate, i'm glad I have come across your channel. Happily subscribed :)

Thanks for the kind words and I’ll have to second everything you said about McCurry. I should probably get in the practice of reviewing his work before my trips. 🫡

Lovely video thank you. Yes he is up there with the best.
But every great photographer has their own style and their images are just as good in a different way thank goodness.

Yes Steve is the greatest photographer ever! I’ll explain myself his influence was Bresson one of the greatest to ever do it. Technique Steve is a complete photographer he has mastered studio Portrait, Street & environmental portraits also pure street photography, colors that compliment, shadows, composition, layers, low light, and greatest of all the moment and the soul of the person or place. The greatest story teller in photography. Yes there are many great photographers but generally stick to a certain genre. Steve is the master of all genres.

This is an extremely valid argument to the question and hard to argue against. I should really dive more into his portraits and landscapes. I haven’t seen too many of either.

In the context of street photography, I think Steve approach is documentary. He took lots of portraits as part of his story-stelling style. Well not surprising since he's a photojournalist. I prefer Saul Leiter's approach: faces intentionally partly hidden/blurred, lots of reflections, wet/foggy windows, lots of negative spacecs etc. Kinda painting-like.

Which book are these photos from?

The book is called The Unguarded Moment. Highly recommend picking it up if you’re into photobooks. The format is unlike any other that I own.
