    Nice video brother just a quick question because i can see it a bit in your video. Does your bezel have hairline scratches that only appear in certain light? I have them on my submariner hulk and everyone swears that these bezels are scratch proof

    • @IrixGuy
      @IrixGuy  Год назад

      Are you certain that the bezel insert in your Submariner is genuine? These bezels should not scratch or fade. Although highly unlikely, the only thing that might happen is shattering but that would require a tremendous amount of force and a specific point of impact.

    I'd be interested in hearing about your 12 years of wearing your Sub, mate. Have you had it serviced yet? How was your overall experience been?

  • @deltropico7
    @deltropico7 2 года назад +3

    Thanks for sharing your experience. It's an amazing watch for sure! The other doubt is... I was told wearing dive watches in spa/sauna/hot tubs is supposed to be terrible for rubber gaskets, have you had issues or heard anything about it?

    • @IrixGuy
      @IrixGuy  2 года назад +3

      I’ve heard the same. I’ve worn my Omega SeaMaster 300m in wet conditions for over 20+ years without issue. I do the same with all of other other screw-down crown dive watches that have proper water resistance and don’t worry about it. It’s not recommended but i do it all of the time.

    Crown guards prevent knocking off crown while working .Tgey made tgem bigger because the smaller ones on tge previous model start to dissappear if you like to keep I polished so they have bigger lugs so if you have it many years and you have it polished upon servicing you won't notice lugs shrinking.Thats why we have the beefy Maxi case as well as bigger watches comming to fashion

    • @IrixGuy
      @IrixGuy  11 месяцев назад

      That makes sense about the crown guards. Big watch vs. small watch though….I bought my Breitling Super Avenger during the early ‘2000s. Big watches were hot then. Do you think that they’re making a comeback? It seems that 39mm - 42mm for men has been the most popular size for the past few years.

    • @williamdevlin5439
      @williamdevlin5439 11 месяцев назад

      @@IrixGuy yes definitely. I'm at the point t don't wear anything under 40mm unless fine dining or special occasion I might pull out the 36mm though it's only worn 1ce a year and needs wound every time I use it.When I look to buy watches I stick things the size of an offshore because I like how they fit better.Im a really hands on guy so I need durable. I hunt and process animals I'm an Electrician but I play with autos and trucks. I like to see my watch easy even just give it a glance so people don't think your trying to show off staring at a watch too long .Women are wearing full size what was thought to be 'Mens' watches so you don't really want to be shown up by a chick.Hell O got my 116619LB from a lady Customs Agent and it was like new she liked big watches but she said it was so heavy she didn't wear it much as it was a gift from her eldest.

    I agree with everything you said, apart from the watch not being flashy.
    Flashy definition: Momentarily dazzling. 3a : superficially attractive or impressive. b : ostentatious or showy often beyond the bounds of good taste especially : marked by gaudy brightness.
    Also what makes the Rolex submariner stainless Steel Black dial so attractive and flashy is the stainless steel and the Piano black just looks absolutely beautiful together.
    For those who have never seen one up close and tried one on, you maybe missing out big time.
    For those who can't afford one there is always the Rolex submariner Homages.
    Cronos and San Martin are beautiful to, l am familiar with the Rolex submariner and the Homages to this most beautiful watch.

    I remember watching your review a million times about the no date submariner, back in the day when hype didn't exist. In the end i ended up selling my 2225.80 seamaster chrono and got the no date ceramic sub. I was disappointed. It was a nice watch but didn't feel thousands better, versus the omega, as far as build quality goes. There is a reason why before the stupid hype you could get discounts at ADs or buy 2nd hand, guaranteed cheaper. So the sub only stayed with me for a week. But i still watch you video of the no date sub time to time :)

      Very cool thanks for watching my videos :). Yeah, I doubt that we’ll ever see the days again where someone can walk into a Rolex AD, try on any reference and then haggle and purchase one for a discount. I’m happy and done with a “one and done Rolex.”. The submariner ticks all
      boxes and I’ve now been able to explore all other wristwatch bands too. With that said, I think that the Sub is still the best watch in my rotation and obviously not due to hype :)
