  • When you make space for what you love, life becomes sweeter, lighter and better.
In this video, I share ways in which I romanticise my summer, with a very small budget.
I share about elderflower picking, spending time in nature, sewing, cooking, and gardening, and about the importance of romanticising little moments as a way to enjoy the present moment.
About me: I’m Alexandra and I live in Oxfordshire together with my husband and our adorable daughter. My hope is that you’ll find a lot of positivity on this channel.
About this channel: Sharing from the heart. Sharing how I see the world. On here, I will cover topics such as: creativity, cooking, hobbies, self-care, mental health, mom life, crafty life, fashion, womanhood and, travelling.

I don’t quite know why but this video made me tear up. It just made me happy to see you happy gardening! It’s the simple joys in life that make this world beautiful.

I had a a hard day at work that day I did a bit of gardening, I almost didn't do it, but when I got going, I immediately cheered up. It took the stress off my shoulders. Planting some basil took the weight of the world off my shoulders, and like you say it's the simple joys in life that make this world beautiful! Thank you so much for watching! XXX

I cracked up at the caterpillar freakout because I am THE SAME - love gardening but don't want to see or touch worms or slugs or anything related haha! By the way you should take cuttings from your basil to propagate and you'll get basil all summer long that way! I haven't tried with other herbs but basil cuttings develop roots really quickly in water and you can plant them once they have the roots. 🌿

I was looking at my strawberries the other day and I got scared by a slug it was so wild! I also see lots of spiders in between my plants and it freaks me out! Defo not my favourite part about gardening for sure!!! haha! My husband put some in waters, we shall experiment and see what happens! Thank you for the advice! Sending love and thank you for tuning in!!! Any gardening tips, keep them coming x

Thank you so much! When we moved out London, this is what we moved for, more green space, a slower pace, and it's truly lovely! I have some many plans for the garden, but my dreams are always slightly bigger than my budget haha! X

@@AlexandraBurnett Just some tips if you decide to plant it. It can get big fast so make sure it's in a sunny corner with lots of room to grow. Also I would suggest not near a window (like mine). 🤣 The earwigs (I don't mind bugs but whoever created those, put a special evil on them. They are so ugly and move so fast! They like to sit on my elderberry and once in a while make it through my kitchen window screen. It horrifies me!😂. So yeah, take my advice and plant a little bit away from the house! I have a white varigated leaf plant, but the darker stemmed with pink flowers are stunning as well.

oh gosh, I need some more happy moments like this!! I have been overwhelmed with moving abroad + studying + being homesick + debts + work + 2h commute ... anyways. Life has been hard but I'm anxious to have a slower pace and soon cause I need it lol Happy to see you going for it! It is inspiring

Seasons! Some are gentler some are more intense. I think I've stepped into my gentle season, after years of clouds and storms. Yours will come too! I used to do a 2 hour commute, did that for 2 years and it was soul crushing, and I do empathise with you! And I get homesick so much. And I also studied abroad, so can relate t some things your mentioning here. x Where are you based Polly? And where is home country for you! Praying and wishing for a gentle season to be ahead of you and for you to get there soon! X

I was born and raised in Brazil (in the countryside of Sao Paulo state) and I've been living in Vancouver since Dec 2022. Not sure how long I'll be here though! Long-term plan is to go back to Brazil :))

I would like to try gardening again but with flowers. I also tried planting basil and they all died within a couple of weeks. I didn't know that keeping them clumped was the reason why. The more you know LOL

I want a million flowers too! And bushes! And trees. The more I grow up the more I want a whole forrest haha! I think basil is tricky to grow, I don't know why it's such a sensitive plant, but I guess she knows her worth because BASIL is such a queen of a plant!!
Love sharing my life and moments on here and it's because of people like you that I feel encouraged to keep sharing! Thank *YOU* for tuning in! x

My son is an avid gardener and I have watched as over the last few years he has developed his skills so much by trying different things out and learning as he has gone along I’ve found myself learning along side home. When is the best time time to pick the raspberries, when are potatoes ready to harvest, morning the loss of our first fig tree but having another go and watching a new tree grow. Even now when you look at your adult child, it’s an opportunity to give thanks for another bonding moment. Thank you for beautiful blog. PS I have to look into elderberry mocktails!

What a beautiful message! I love that! It's true, you learn by doing! My daughter and I bond over our gardening, we go and check in on our plants in the morning, she helps me water them, and she goes and picks herbs if I'm cooking and ask her too! It's such a beautiful thing to do! Love that! XX
