- A visual testament about life moving on and storms running out of water.
My little heart felt compelled this week to make a video about hard times. I wanted to encourage you based on what I've learnt from the hardest year of my life.
I brought my camera to London, and at the time I had no idea what I’d do with the footage, but when I started playing with it, it became clear.
I’d make a visual voice note for a friend who is going through a rough time.
Here is the script in case you want to copy it and paste it / printe
Selfishly, I am glad I made this video, because I plan to listen to it when inevitably life gets hard again.
About me: I’m Alexandra and I live in Oxfordshire together with my husband and our adorable daughter. My hope is that you’ll find a lot of positivity on this channel.
About this channel: Sharing from the heart. Sharing how I see the world. On here, I will cover topics such as: creativity, cooking, hobbies, self-care, mental health, mom life, crafty life, fashion, womanhood and, travelling.
Stick around and let's be friends.
Oh my, what a perfect timing. I didn't expect more perfect and so deep reaction of your video. Thank you Alexandra for this message. You are amazing.
I'm so glad you came across my video and that it was timely! Sending lots of love XXX

Dear Alexandra, Im so sorry for the loss of your dad. You know he is in a peaceful loving place. God bless❤
Hi Karen, thank you so much. I think my video wasn't very clear, so totally understandable there's been a confusion. My dad is thankfully still alive, but he lost so much of himself (speech / memory) after his brain surgery, so that's what I meant by saying we lost him but not in the way we anticipated. Thank you for your kind heart.
thank you for the video. i've been feeling so hopeless lately... i really needed to hear these words
You are so welcome. Sending you lots of love! X
I lost my husband two years ago. It still feels like yesterday. What you described was so perfect and exactly me (except for the the “you’ll have sex again” part, LOL). We were married 45 years, together since we were 16. I never even dated anyone else. Devastating doesn’t even describe that kind of grief. It was sudden, unexpected. One minute we were celebrating his 65th birthday, and 2 days later, I was choosing a funeral home. I have great faith in Jesus, and so did he. Starting my third year of widowhood, I am starting to look forward to things again. So much of the last few years, I was stuck between what “could have been” and what “could be.” I wept through your video. It touched my heart.
Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.

Oh Dorothy, I stopped for a minute when I read this message. It sounds like you've travelled through quite the valley! I'm so sorry for your sudden and painful loss. I can't imagine what that must have been like. Sounds like he was a wonderful man with whom you grew up with, did life with and build a family with! Praise the Lord for faith - because that brings up perspective in hard times, and gives us hope for the good times that will come when all tears will be wiped and there will be no more pain! Sending you lots of love! Really touched that my video brought a tiny bit of comfort! XXX
A beautiful video. A special person. So glad you're here.......
Thank you so much! I'll always remember you as the ballerina teacher XXX
You truly are such a blessing. Thank you Alexandra. So sorry for your loss ❤
Thank you Sharon x Dad is still with us, but not the way he used to, so that has made it so hard! x
Love is worth it...be at peace lovely
Thank you! X
Beautiful and comforting. It was the message I needed after deep prayers for Lent. Begin a new...❤
Wonderful! Thank you for watching! X
I love this video, Alexandra, because it is true. Like you, I weathered the storm when my dad died of leukemia, and many years later when my mom slowly died of Alzheimer's - something maybe similar to what you are experiencing with your father. As you say, there is a time for all seasons. I believe I feel my parents near me, sometimes. I know we'll be together again in Heaven someday.
what a beautiful note to love and loss and living. thank you. 🌷
Thank you so much - so kind! x
Thank you Alexandra, just what I needed to hear when I woke up this morning, may the Lord bless you ❤
Sending lots of love! Thank you and may the Lord bless you to! X
Beautiful video! None of us escape the sting of death that eventually will come for our loved ones. Life is a series of valleys and mountain tops and you gave a beautiful reminder that we won’t be in the valley forever. Loved how you ended with scripture. Can’t imagine a life without Jesus providing the strength and love to help move forward in those low seasons. Sorry for the loss of your Dad, I’m sure you have many warm memories you will carry with you forever. God bless you! ☺️
Thank you so much for this lovely comment. Yes, I feel the same way - can't imagine life without my faith. My dad's still alive, thankfully, sadly he's lost his speech and memory and a lot of movement , which is what I was referring to "loosing him but not in the way we anticipated" - but I can understand how that's so confusing. My bad.
@@AlexandraBurnett oh, thank you for clarifying. Prayers for your Dad and family as you all walk through this along side him.
Good reminders ❤
Sending love, thank you for watching! X
Love love love :) thank you so much for this video
Ah I am so happy to hear! Sending lots of love x
I didn't know I needed this until I listened to your words. Your voice will be in my head whenever I need it, thank you so much ❤
Sending lots of love! Not going to lie, I listened to it a few times myself haha cause I needed it! x
Your loving, meaningful, poetic video essays are so powerful and desperately needed both on this platform and across the wider world where we are all starved of the compassion and kind reassurance that we need to keep going through our struggles. Please continue making these videos for as long as you are able Alexandra 💜 I will definitely be returning to this one for years to come when I’m facing rough seas and needing a supportive hug.
Reading this comment this morning made me tear up for sure. I feel so encouraged to keep on going with this journey of sharing stories and encouragements! Thank you for your kindness and generosity! ❤️
Thank you

When I tell you this video is DIVINELY timed! I am having a really bad grief day and decided to make the jam from your raspberry wreath recipe. Then I got a notification that you uploaded a video while connecting my phone to RUclips app on the TV...I am getting chills because everything you have said is exactly what I needed to hear. Every. Single. Part. I, too, lost a parent, and it's been really hard ever since. The message to the friend at the end was beu was beautiful! It means more than you know! I truly appreciate you and you content so much! 💛
Hope the raspberry jam came out lovely! I am so encouraged by your comment - thank you so much for sharing! Feels so strange to talk about it, but I think there's been a misunderstanding from my video and I'd feel weird to not address it - my dad lost his memory and speech and a lot of his movement after his brain surgery - that's what I was referring to when I said "we lost him - but not in a way we anticipated" - and that's been so hard to deal with, in it's own way.Anyways, I just thought I'd clarify. So sorry for the loss of your parent. I can imagine it's brought a lot of grief and a huge space of emptiness. Lots of love to you and thank you so much for having your notifications on and tuning into my lil' videos! Means so much to me! X
