A *REALISTIC* Day in My Life as A WORKING MOM.

  • As a working mom, here's how I balance, work, motherhood, and hobbies.
This is a very realistic portrayal of my day. I didn't plan it, I didn't script it, I just pressed record, and captured that day as accurately as possible.
Often times we see perfect days of perfect people who have perfect lives and that can leave us to think that our lives are a mess.
But I wanted to show the realities of being a working mom, what a typical day looks like, where I work, I feed myself and family and I squeeze in some time for my hobbies so I can stay grounded in myself.
About me: I’m Alexandra and I live in Oxfordshire together with my husband and our adorable daughter. My hope is that you’ll find a lot of positivity on this channel.
About this channel: Sharing from the heart. Sharing how I see the world. On here, I will cover topics such as: creativity, cooking, hobbies, self-care, mental health, mom life, crafty life, fashion, womanhood and, travelling.

Hi guys, I'm back. It's been quite the unplanned break from RUclips. I got ill and was on antibiotics and so I took some time off to rest and recover. Work then got incredibly busy which meant I was exhausted and had to be in London for a bit. It's a little video from me, mainly because I was overthinking my existence here on RUclips and what the heck am I doing. So I knew I needed to film a small and simple video, to rip the band aid so to speak. It feels so good to post, and it sounds so corny but I missed you guys! Hope you're all well. Let me know please if there is any content you'd like to see as I try to get back on the horse! XXX

I started watching for your sewing content a few years ago, but I have SO enjoyed your recent videos. I've been in a really difficult mental health spiral for the last two weeks. I'm making slow steps toward "better" but my wellbeing still feels so shaky. When I'm anxious, I have a hard time eating and today I was feeling so overwhelmed by needing to eat lunch. But then I remembered you had a new video up and your channel always makes me feel so calm and safe, and like everything IS and will be okay. I put on the video, ate my whole lunch while you shared your day, and now I'm tearing up with gratitude for this simple video and your channel. Thank you for sharing your life with us -- I appreciate you!

I read this last night! It made me stop in my tracks. You genuinely took my breath away! You'll never know! Because you gifted me with so much encouragement by just sharing where you are at and how this lil' video has helped you. I'm sorry to hear about your tough time with your mental health - as someone who often struggles with depression and anxiety, those hard weeks can be SOOOOO HARD! When I'm anxious I have a hard time sitting still, I get so fidgety and restless, it's exhausting! Wild how it causes us to act in such different ways. I'm so happy this video has helped. I want to make more videos now! Thank you for inspiring me! It was like you were in my room and gave me the biggest hug and whispered "keep going". You'll never know! XXX And I pray your hard weeks are well behind you and that sunshine is on the horizon for A GOOD TIME NOW! X

Hi there Alexandra thoroughly enjoyed having you back. I had some surgery on my right hand yesterday so seeing you pop up this morning through the community tab such a pleasure as I think I’ve been feeling a little sorry for myself! Well done on getting to a
5K run. It’s really good to have those goals isn’t it? And to Work progressively to them you often find you reach them when least expected. It looks like you’re certainly have a responsible job and it’s so important to maintain that balance between worklife family life and ‘you’ life. Great to have you back. Take care and see you next Vlog.

Wishing you such a speedy recovery with your right hand after surgery!! A goal is the boat that takes you to a better self. Often working on a goal means dying to your current version and birthing a wiser, more disciplined version! And there's such beauty in that! Thank you for tuning in and I'll see you in the next one. You take care of yourself. x

I'm cutting some fabric late at night after the kids have gone to bed while watching this video. I totally agree that having non kid related hobbies has helped ground me and the other part of my identity outside of being a mom. Such a sweet reminder that every season of life can be so different and there's something valuable in each one.

Heyy girl! I got emotional with you about your body recovery and running journey 😭 we can do much more than we think we can! I hope you are tremendously proud of you! I am on this side ❤
Please take care of your health and an advise: register for your first 5km race! It gives us motivation to continue moving our body and it is so fun to do it!

"Sometimes it just feels like what you want is so far away and you are never going there". Oof! I feel this so much. 😢
My life has not panned out in any way that I thought. Currently having my own mental health struggles and its discouraging when you feel like you are getting nowhere no matter how hard you try. Your words of encouragement really help more than you know. Congratulations on achieving your 5k run! Can't wait to see you what you have in store for us next!
P.S. I really hope that you will feel comfortable enough to sing a song and play the guitar🤎

Oh hun, I defo felt like that last year in the summer, with my mental health! It felt like I was stuck in this hard place, and I couldn't get out - the best thing I did was to reach out for help, I referred myself to therapy and it has been incredible, as I had someone to guide me out of a dark and hard place. I don't know why I feel to share this, but sometimes we don't have the skills and experience to get out of those places ourselves, but we CAN get out, we just need a helping HAND. X
Sending love!! I'll try and maybe add a song in there in one of my summer videos! Sending lots and lots of love,
      YOU GOT THIS

It truly means a lot that you shared your experience. Everything you said is so true! I find it hard to ask for help because of shame and guilt for struggling with my mental health. Sometimes hearing someone else share their experience makes it feel less lonely, you know. Connecting with others really helps when your mental health isn't good. Being around family and friends keeps me grounded. It's just some days are hard even with all the help.
Thank you so much for your words of wisdom. It means more than you know. Much love to you as well! 💛💛💛

Oh hun! I hope you're doing ok and revering well. I had zero advice from my GP and there was just no support throughout recovery. It was a hard and long road to get to where I am today, but just to encourage you the pain and numbness in the area hasn't completely gone away, I feel it often around my PMS and ovulation. My daughter is almost three, so it's taken me a looooong time to get to where I am today. For most of the past years walks have been my best friends as well as gentle pilates - you'll find online C-section specific ones, and once I signed up to an app called "FluidForm Pilates" and there they had great exercises for post c-section moms! Sending love to you! I have a soft spot in my heart for c-section moms! XXXX

@@AlexandraBurnett thank you for this ❤️ my son is 4, so it’s not a recent c-section, but it has taken me a long time to get back into working out again. I have started daily walks and going to Pilates once a week and it’s helped so much! Wishing you the best!
I do also want to add I had my 2nd baby almost a year ago through VBAC, and I’ve been recovering from that also, much easier than a C, but still has it’s challenges 😊
