The term grifter is thrown around a lot these days. It's supposed to refer to someone who pretends to care about a cause or have an interest in something they don't for money, but more specifically a grifter is someone who tries to swindle money out of people through fraud. A grifter is not someone who says 'please consider donating to my patreon', a beggar is not a grifter unless the beggar actually lives in a big house, but then why would someone subject themselves to the life of a beggar if they live in a nice house? A grifter isn't someone who is desperate for money either. I don't think he knows what a grifter is I think he just likes engaging in petty internet drama and it's easy to accuse people of being grifters because it's extremely difficult to either prove or disprove without a full scale investigation where you're able to gain access to people's financial records.

This was a good analysis. I've been watching a lot of your content over the past year or so it's refreshing and I think you do have some great critical views on the show I've loved most of my life. I've loved it since the 90's, I assume Mr Gobster has been around for that long but he doesn't come across as someone whose loved the show a long time, or at the very least I think he doesn't appreciate the core values of Doctor Who. I can't say I've warmed to him based on this video, perhaps he's not like a lot of RUclips reviewers who effectively only care about money and pushing a particular political agenda but based on that video I didn't get that impression overall. I may be wrong I don't like to judge too early on but first impressions are overall negative.
Okay, I've taken a look at his channel and frankly I'm disappointed to see he's just another right-wing grifter. It's a shame I was hoping to find someone who might be able to open my eyes to more opinions. As someone who grew up in a Tory safeseat in a solidly Conservative town with Conservative teachers. In spite of this upbringing I've always prided myself on opening my mind up to new views and different ways of thinking, which is why I found that the Conservative way of life, having lived it, was extremely unattractive to me, too repressive, too restrictive, not a lot of benefit, mostly driven by rhetoric and knee jerk reactions. I found more left-leaning views to be more open minded, more interested in discussion and using a wide range of sources to back up and argument. I also discovered having left my old solidly Conservative home that a lot of the propaganda spread about minorities was all propaganda and no substance, they relied on me not meeting anyone they were disparaging. I've found this to be quite a common trait, people who open their minds to new ways of thinking and meeting new kinds of people will often change their views from a more Conservative mindset to a more progressive one. I still desire to expand my horizons and understand different perspectives and unfortunately it appears that this Mr Gobster gentleman has narrowed his vision somewhat so he doesn't offer me anything, all he provides is faux outrage which is a genuine shame.
