Who puts marmite on unbuttered toast....heathens!
Andrew G me don’t come for me
I fucking love just Marmite by itself.
Andrew G YOU ARE A WEAKLING IM COMING FOR YOU
Yeah m8 wtf who fuckin does that I miss Vegemite HEAPS I haven't ate it in a while
SAVAGES!
Marmite on dry toast!??? No Brit ever does that, unless they also don't understand the art of Marmite. BUTTER people. Lots and lots of BUTTER!! Then a thin layer of Marmite! Geeeeez!!
Thank you! These videos piss me off so much.
> Never had marmite
> Uses butter on toast
> Who needs butter with marmite? Apparently no one
> How about more marmite than any brit uses
> Hates it
Me: facepalm
They can never do anything right on this channel. Substantially more annoying than it is entertaining
With a cuppa or coffee. I actually like mine with a strong coffee. lots of butter and a thin layer of marmite.
I put loads of marmite on
I actually do the same: lots of butter and then vegemite!
The British guy should’ve made everyones marmite toast & the Australian girl should’ve made everyones vegemite toast so it’s actually more fair
Too much Marmite and no butter? No wonder he hated it. My first Marmite experience had the best conditions and I loved that stuff right from the beginning. I think all the people who say that they hate it, just used it wrong. Remember: Only a tiny amount with a lot of butter and your taste buds will be in heaven!
Correct. People use it like honey or chocolate spread. NOOO! A good layer of butter then a small amount, slightly mixed with the butter
as an Asian, I perceive the taste of Marmite and Vegemite as being similar to either soy sauce, or shrimp paste
Like dark soy sauce. Kind of.
absolutely, very heavy on glutamates
It compares more to miso paste or doenjang imo, with additional yeasty notes.
You made him try it on dry, cold bread.........yummy
Yeah mate try it with butter and it makes it much better m8
Warm bread and butter will make it waayyy better
@@treitamajordan6033 youre very British, I hope you know that
That’s probably why he hated it putting marmite on dry cold bread is disgusting! At least use warm to hot bread with a little bit of butter at least it’ll taste the best I don’t know why the people put it on cold bread with absolutely no butter and then hated it even though they didn’t even toast the bread 😐 it will just make it way worse and make it bad when it hasn’t I kinda hate the video now cause of that and it gives marmite a bad look!
Agreed....it must be hot buttered toast
I couldn't have any of them by themselves, I lather a bit of butter on there
I actually used to eat it marmite without butter
@@genderisahoax06 I still eat marmite and bovril without the bread xD
theres something so beautiful about seeing unsuspecting Americans try marmite for the first time
There is something so satisfying to see a Brit try Bovril for the first time. (Although I have never seen Bovril consumed in this manner, ever. Ever, ever)
@@MadMarker My dad keeps some as a backup in the cupboard and honestly, I live in fear
@@kthxbi I have some bovril on my table but I prefer Marmite.
#Marmite
Very weak people. Always so loud.
@@justtheletterV274brilliant.
Bovril all the way! Originally designed to keep soldiers fighting yet not go off quickly - great drink on a cold day and its a good thing to drink if you get ill, pretty high protein and enriched with a shed load of vitamins.
I feel portrayed by my countrymen - wtf you know you need butter!
portrayed or betrayed?
@@shoqueeshequa It doesn't matter. He wouldn't know the difference and would only call you a "grammar nazi". Never attempt to teach a pig to sing; it's a waste of your time and only annoys the pig.
You mean betrayed? 😂😂
Bovril makes me think of James May
Makes sense
Krutika why
Here in South Africa midway between Australia and England, Bovril is king 👑
Idk why people compare bovril to the mites , it’s beef , and mites are yeast
@@tsardine2573 they actually taste pretty similar and they have similar consistencies and colours, essentially the same thing but like you said one is yeast one is beef extract.
Daniel Desmond huh , personally I don’t think they taste that similar, but everyone has their own opinions
Marmite is Supreme leader in South Africa. Dankie baai.
gerra 011 yeah , here in England too
No butter?!?!?!
Thanks for the comparisons. I've bought some Marmite, didn't seem to have much flavor, just salt. I've decided to buy Bovril (it cannot be imported to the U.S. due to food laws, but it's made and sold in the U.S. as Bovrite with the same taste).
Good to know. I've been going through a jar of Vegemite. Next I will try Marmite and Bovrite.
I live in Australia & eaten both non of these should be eaten without butter EVER!!!
Totally agree. And the toast should be boiling hot, with loads of butter melted into it. 🇿🇦
Marmite should be spread thin, vegemite spread thick and Bovril mixed with hot water as a savoury drink.
no no no. marmite shouldn’t exist. vegemite spread thin. bovril on toast, in a sandwich, in a drink or on a croissant
he went too heavy on the marmite
I’m an American who tried Vegemite for the first time and loved it, and used to eat it for breakfast on toast every day with other additional foods and also had some with tortilla chips or saltines, and that made me wish that I was Australian!
All my life my family has enjoyed all three of these. We always have a jar of each in the pantry
I've been in the UK for 10 years now, and it was love at first taste with Marmite. Apparently, after reading the comments down below, I will love it even more, as it's supposed to taste better with butter, which is something I didn't know or was ever told, to be honest. I do put it in some sandwiches here and there, just a smidge, as it adds a peculiar flavor, a hint of goodness in there.
I also just recently discovered the joys of Bovril. I like it hot and strong, with a pinch of salt. With the weather getting cold now, it's just the greatest thing ever, I'm in love with it. Thanks, Britain, jolly good show! I never tried Vegemite, but my brother lives in Australia, I'll ask him if he ever tried next time we talk. I also like Supermalt and Branston pickles, among many other good things I only tried here, and the ales are also just great, Old Speckled Hen is my favorite.
Hot Vegemite soup with salt and pepper, with buttered toast to dip into it. That's proper got for a cold winter's day.
What do you think putting butter on? Food from the damn gods
🎶I met some man in Brussels.
He was six-foot-four and full of muscles.
I said "Do you speak-a my language?"
And he just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich....🎶
Pennsylvanian here, I eat a spoonful of vegemite or marmite at a time. I love everything salty, vinegary, spicy, and meaty.
I keep coming back for the "OMG" moment... priceless!
I tried marmite for the first time today. I'm a vegan from Canada and it's the perfect spread for my sandwiches and the fact it's full of B vitamins makes it even better
I tried it recently as well. I'm obsessed. Unfortunately I can't buy it here in Brazil. Have you tried it with peanut butter?
@@caiofernando no that's an interesting idea thanks 😀 Btw I buy marmite on Amazon because can't find in Canada
Bovril doesn’t belong in that comparison because it’s first of all, a beef extract so the flavour comes from meat not yeast, and secondly, it’s a liquid stock for soups and stews so you’re meant to drink it hot in a mug. Vegemite and Marmite contain no meat or meat extracts.
Like them all, but if i had to choose only one it would be Bovril. Others are vegetable yeast extract. Bovril is liquid beef in a jar.
Oh my goodness. Need lots of butter thin layer of Bovril. My favourite of the three.
I grew up with Bovril. Compared to Marmite and Vegemite, Bovril is like ambrosia.
Indeed bovril is far superior. Anyone who likes marmite will be amazed
No butter ye junkies 😂😂
Bovril all the way for me!
Basically, you can use Marmite as an alternative to beef flavouring but with Marmite a little goes a long way.
you can also use Vegemite and Bovrill as flavouring as well. you can also use them as a hot drink. just use a teaspoon of the one you like best and add hot water and stir till dissolved and drink.
@@michaelbourne5591 But Bovrill *is* beef. Re-read the comment.
I LOVE marmite but needs butter for god sake!
Treat marmite and vegemite like you would salt and pepper. You only need a bit.
You did my American brother wrong doing these without butter.
Tried marmite for the first time and I did it the way Emily Blunt taught me. Lots of butter with a little bit of marmite. It’s still HELLA salty. And I love salt. Eager to try Vegemite for a comparison.
Love bovril so much. I use it to cook most of the time
Bovril is a great alternative to reduce symptoms of hypotension.
Bovril on toast made my head explode
I rather have Marmite on toast. It’s lovely and healthy.
Only a savage would eat marmite on toast without butter
Good or bad way?
I lit up when he chose the bovril beef extract , my little matador
So, I tried Vegemite for the first time the other day. Didn't love it, but didn't hate it either (planning on trying Marmite soon as well). The thing is though... Vegemite spreads like butter does on toast. It's impossible to do it if the toast is cold. Also, where's the butter? I don't think they did it right, even with a brit and an Aussie there.
What sort of person has marmalade and marmite next to each other in the fridge and thinks, "you know, I think today I will spared some marmite on my toast"?
Bovril is great to drink on a cold winter's night. Warms you up and gives you energy, and salt.
KFC is great so salty cold chicken burger on a cold night
Ew
Buttered toast with bovril
Cheese on toast then lightly spread Bovril on top, its like pizza if you're broke
Oh thanks for the idea!
Bovril isn't comparable to Marmite and Vegemite. Bovril is essence of cow.
I know an Australian girl who gave up vegemite when she went vegetarian. Yes, I know.
Casper is darker than that toasted bread.🤣🤣🤣
I guess Vegemite you could compare with something like Oysters, the look, texture can be off putting, the first time you try it it’s gross but you try it again and again, suddenly something clicks and you enjoy it... fast forward and your in love with it! I was brought up with it as a kid, I had no choice, as an adult. I have to have it every day. It’s like nothing else
“Steve I’m giving you a promotion”
MARMITE
“Yep, now you’re fired.”
You gotta have butter too. Heathens.
Having had all 3 throughout my years of growing up, I still have to go for Bovril. Simply because it goes well with congee, soups, basically as a condiment to bland chinese food like congee. And I love that beefy taste. I never have Bovril or Marmite on toast. Only vegemite on toast, with a dollop of butter. Marmite tastes better on fried chicken. Marmite fried ribs and fried chicken, anyone?
I like to mash it with butter at a 1:4 ratio so it resembles marble before spreading it on hot toast.
Used to drink Bovril at the football when I was a kid, then all of a sudden it just kind of went away.
Damn Americans have banned Bovril, here, I love it as a hot drink, but because it contains animal products, it's a friggin NO!, NO! here in the USA
This is actually a perfect video.
They're different things with different tastes! Incomparable flavours!
Hot Bovril on a cold day is incredible 😍😍😍
I am an American and I like all three. Wish I could easily buy them in U.S.A.
Marmite is holy.
I like maritime on whole wheat toast.
You dont just have it by itself
Marmite and vegemite is a secret ingredients for delicious gravy making
I wonder if it’s an expectation thing - some cultures are so used to having sweet toast that when they have something savoury - even if it’s delicious like marmite - their brains can’t cope
I'm an American and even I know you have to butter your toast.
2:01 the same reaction i had first time trying marmite here in the uk😂 i liked the smell, i spread it on a crumpet... then omg that disgust i felt, i can't put into words😂
No butter? Seriously. I'm watching this whilst eating English muffins, toasted, proper butter, Vegemite and melted cheese. Clearly, both are an acquired taste!
I'm from South Africa, and I love Bovril on toast
Got to butter the toast first
Thanks guys for helping me to eat marmite with buttered bread lol This is my 1st time before im getting old and die
I am a marmite addict , and thought to give Vegemite a try, god is it me or does it taste like liquorice .I keep trying to see if I can adapt to the taste, but it’ll never be on the level of marmite
i decided that it wasn't all that bad. had i grown up with vegemite instead, i probably would like it about as much as i like marmite. also, from this it seems that vegemite is an easier taste to acquire.
Try liquorice and then Vegemite won’t taste like liquorice
Borvil on Toast with Mature Cheddar Cheese = Heavenly
Bovril’s gorgeous on a cold winters day 🤤🥰
You need to have vegemite or marmite on hot buttered toast, not cold dry toast.
I bought a bottle of Bovril today it cost me 13.00 US. $26.00 in my local currency. Just had some on toast, interesting taste looking forward to cooking with it.
Lmao dry toast!? Madness
Bovril is definitely the best especially if you come home from a night out.
As a Brit, I've given Marmite a go twice. I just can't. My taste-buds won't let me. Bovril on the other hand......especially on toast with a bit of butter, forget about it! Nothing comes close! The key is moderation. Too much Bovril and its overpowering, just the right amount and you get the perfect beefy taste! :D
the rope bridges in the canyons in the jungle, under thatcher, well, there werent any basically
WHERE'S THE BUTTER??????
Best on hot buttered toast and dunked in a cup of coffee or tea
Add cheese with it omg its phenominal with avocado slice of tomato on top
you should have had more butter on the toast to distribute it evenly . and used it more spareingly
While having breakfast on vacation in South Africa, I spread Bovil on my bread. After I ate it, I thought that there was no way I could test anything worse than this in my life, so I took a new bread and tried the Hot English Mustard. That's when I made peace with Bovil.
I've had all 3. Bovril is the superior toast spread and better than either Marmite or Vegemite. It's less salty, and has a better flavour/heat balance.
Put some butter on that toast...
No butter? Cold toast? My god
How about they show them how to properly eat it?
All this talk about butter reminds me of a certain youtuber who would love this video...
Vegimite is absolutely better, but both are amazing options that I wish I learned about earlier as an American.
Bread should be thickly buttered and just a thin layer of marmite should be added
Began life as marmite until I discovered bovril. UK
Love marmite on toast that’s soaked with butter and Bovril’s a perfect little warm me up with a pie at football. Less is more. Anybody who likes salty butter popcorn would love marmite on toast how we really eat it.
Of cause it's gonna be salty AF, that's way too much marmite!
I'm sorry guys but the Swiss legend Cenovis rules.
How to detect the American spy 101
Vegemite Is The King.
All is my childhood memories
Bovril is definitely the king.
