  • Defense is just as much about strategy, skill, and technique as offense is. That may be an unpopular opinion, but it's what I've learned in years of coaching. And this takes experience, film study, and much much more to develop!! Shoutout to my guys at Elite Athletes in Antwerp, Belgium for the hospitality.

    Recently got back to bball at 42. Didn't want to embarrass myself during pick up games but wanted to contribute as much as I could. After hearing a lot of opinions, DEFENSE was the most recommended area to focus on. These videos are an absolute TREASURE. Really appreciate the depth and attention to detail. Thank you!

    As someone who takes pride in my defense, initiating with footwork help anticipation with some predictability. Timing is also really important and I'm kind of hesitant to give it away for free but basically one with the ball is defending the ball, not the one trying to stop them from scoring.

      My lateral quickness and overall footwork adaptability . What puts those 2 elements over the top is my ability to be 2 or even 3 steps ahead of the offensive player after picking on his spots and favorite counters as well as the timing of his dribble

      @yeatdagoat173 Год назад

      I'm usually the best perimeter defender on the court whenever I play but I wanna keep getting better on the offensive side. I do believe my weakness defensively is that I lack anticipation. I think I expend unnecessary energy moving my feet because I haven't figured out the most efficient angle to use when cutting ppl off. I think the reason i have this is cuz I haven't played a lot of team ball so just natural innate ball iq isn't on my side
