Always love these pairings of two chromosomes that occurs during meiosis of every weekend MLB series!! Jokes aside, re: the O's bullpen. It's worth mentioning that the Birds also have Danny Coulombe coming back, who is awesome and should be a big help. Obviously getting a less stress inducing Closer than Kimbrel would be nice, but I think their main concern should be a #3 starter behind Burnes and Grayson. Then again, their farm system is good enough where they can do both.
The thing with Logan Allen is that he seemed to have mechanical issues like McKenzie was having. Allen is at the top of the league in walks, homers allowed, and WHIP. While he wasn't as bad as Triston McKenzie, Cleveland already planned on sending him down when they acquired Howard. It just happened to be right after Allen's best start of the year.
Logan Allen being sent down was simply bc he wasn't going to pitch again before the ASB so he can keep throwing a bit in AAA. He will be back up after the ASB.
As an orioles fan, i agree the bullpen could use another arm. But Coulombe, who was our most consistent performer for the first two months, should be back by september to help out against Lefties. The lack of a clear third starter is currently the biggest issue imo, kremer is a 4. Need someone behing Grayson and Burnes
If you’re chatting about the Mets tomorrow, it would be great to hear you guys consider the ideas of offering extensions to Alonso, Severino, and Manaea before the deadline. And if they decline, performing the due diligence of assessing their trade value ahead the deadline and their free agency. While selling would be painful for a potential playoff team, the opportunity to bring back 4-5 legitimate prospects could pay significant dividends for the future of the franchise. On the other hand, receiving commitments from the potential free agents would answer questions for the 2025 and 2026 ballclub and make it easier to buy at the deadline. Your thoughts? Thanks 🙂

Hunter Brown also had to eat innings with a bullpen day the day before. Would have been pulled if they had a rested bullpen.
