I’m glad they used Volvo. They ARE the benchmark with Safety. Personally, Safety standards are just as equally or if not, MORE important than simply having powerful and reliable engines alone. That said, I know that tour buses and especially double decker buses’s weakest points are the supporting structures on both sides if an overturned accident happens. Hopefully Volvo took that into account with their fabulous models of Tour buses. Lastly, I hope they have these new Volvo buses plying the route to Ipoh and Genting someday. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
What a great trip. I will called it one step ahead, because in my country also your neighbours country, the largest power of Volvo coach chassis just 450 hp, and yes it's B11R not B13R and also only Euro 5 at the moment. Even the 450 hp chassis isn't included yet on Local Distributor & Manufacturers Website.
Side indicator (signal) lamps are installed backwards. They are supposed to be positioned to be seen by approaching vehicles from the rear of the bus (in the bus’ blind spot)..
It’s more likely to be deployed from the pickup points mentioned in the video, with the coach code DD40S. Being said that, Cityline may deploy this bus on other routes where necessary.
The 30-minutes allowance is a standard among the operators, taking into account the time taken for an average traveller to clear the immigration. Of course, if a large number of passengers cannot return to the bus in 30 minutes, the bus would have to wait because obviously there is an issue clearing the majority of passengers. However, if most of the passengers managed to clear the immigration and return to the bus on time, then obviously there is an issue with the traveller being held up at the immigration. It is unfair for the bus to keep on waiting for that particular passenger when everyone else is already back in the bus.
More often than not, it is the travellers’ fault for failing to ensure they have the necessary documents for the immigration clearance. I have personally come across many instances where travellers did not submit the arrival card required for the clearance, even after repeated calls from the bus driver to submit them as early as possible.
@@jomnaikbas but I do see many are held up not because of their own clearance issue but the long queue in front. Foreigners (except Singaporeans) are still not able to use automatic clearance in Malaysian customs. There might be a long queue in front that cause the delay
@Cubs3344 That is correct. And for that reason that you mentioned, the drivers are obliged to stay on and wait because it is the congestion that caused the delay, and not the travellers’ documentations.
23 years ago, a bus driver said that many bus operator liners want powerful engines but not necessarily for speeding. Something about not needing to keep it floored in low gear up the mountain passes.. Effortless passage, perhaps.?

I dont understand why those busses from Singapore like to drop passengers at Times Square..such a hectic place to wait for bus etc... why not utilizing TBS like normal express busses in Malaysia? You guys contribute to traffic jammed in KL yo..see those Singapore busses park along the road in front of Times Square..such an eyesore
All boils down to one simple logic - Demand. If there’s no demand from passengers, Berjaya Times Square would not be that popular. Non-Malaysian buses are not allowed into TBS, that is why none of them calls at TBS.
Comfortable CITYLINE I take From Berjaya Times KL to Singapore, the bus driver very young put on spectacles..drive the Volvo very fast..

I can’t wait to see the first one in Indonesia! It would be awesome if it’s built on the Avante double-deck body 😍
Nice! Cityline Volvo!

Will Lavender MRT to Berjaya Times KL route also have this new bus?

30 minutes for customs clearance? sometimes foreigners need more time for customs clearance. Depends on the custom traffic also.

Does this have low platform or any other carrier have it?
Is there any usb charging?
New premium bus got usb at seat area
lols the older bus seat those similar to sofa style is more comfortable
What is the use of so much HP when buses on highways are limited to 90km/h? The only advantage was when buses speed up from 0 to 90. right?
I believe the operators have made careful considerations if operating buses with big power outputs makes economic sense or otherwise.

Hi how do i know i will get this bus for my journey ? What to look for during booking?
Do lookout for DD40 S as the coach code.
Can it climb Genting?
Oh definitely, without a doubt. Just that regulations does not allow it.
The MAN 18.400 coach can reach 60km/h on the less-than-steepest grades uphill, surprising Wira 1.5-borne motorists going up for a night's vacay...
