I've learned a lot from this video too. Never have I thought that building a bus involved so much teamwork. I always thought it was just a couple of guys fitting something and then it moves on to the next and so on so forth. Now though, through your video I realize that it's more than just a monotonous work of fitting and assembling. It's a whole community of people diligently doing a synchronised dance each knowing exactly their job and efficiently executing them at every part to finish a product every few hours. And I came to realize that if a country could be like that then that country is going to succeed way more than any which are in disarray. Unfortunately the country I'm living in now is exactly that way. In disarray!
This is only ONE Industry in China. This is why Western Business go to China to have their product manufactured there. Better Management/Production Plant/Planning/Build/Delivery - with a Management that has studied Western Business Operations and does it better. This is why Walmart (USA), Warehouse(NZ), Bunnings (Australia/NZ), shop there; this is also why all your DIY Home Tools are manufactured there, so are the majority of shipping containers. - I could go on. It is amazing how the West have missed the "boat", allowing the Chinese to "move into the open space of industry. The other factor, is that China has NO Unions, that have dominated/decimated Western Business for decades. It is a Nation of People that evolved from the Han & Ming Dynasties, to now.
I used to build Scania coaches back in the 80s,it was exactly how you describe,3 or 4 of us would assemble a coach from the ground up,we didn't do the bodies, but they would leave us as a driveable chassis then get sent to the body builders.

Great video because it's not easy to get an insight tour of a factory (anywhere in the world) because companies like to keep their little secrets. (Public) transport has come a long way in China since its humble beginnings.
Any major works is always an eye opener. I won't be able to make comparison with Hitchi or Mitsubishu of Japan, Finland's Wartsila, France's Alstom or the NEI Parsons in UK before it was broken up but China is definiely catching fast and holds its own ground.
'Holding its own ground' - courtesy of reverse engineering everyone else's stuff. I still don't understand why we sent all our manufacturing to such an uncaring, polluting country. Oh yes, I remember, it was so we could claim we were 'reducing our carbon footprint', as nobody had to account for any of the pollution caused by imported products - and still don't. It was politically expedient & saved everyone from having to actually do something. Same now, with all the big corporations using 'carbon offsets', a simple trick of accounting to pretend to be 'carbon neutral' or 'nett zero' - just pay some company for some pretend 'green initiatives' to offset the damage you've done & get money from the government/taxpayer. China won't even start to reduce any emissions until at least 2060 - and that'll be put back, you can count on it. Meanwhile, China has created more pollution in 8 years than the UK has over the last 220 years...
@@johnmurphy9550 China-hater ignoring the following facts (1) China in 2021 generated 8,375 TWh when US generated 4,280 TWh. Thus China generated twice amount of electrical power of the US. However since US has 4 times the population of China so every American consumes twice amount of electrical power and causes twice amount of world pollution than a Chinese. (2) UK annually generates about 310 TWh as any extra will be imported from France. China in 2021 by nuclear generation alone was 407 TWh (1.3 times UK), Hydro generation was 1,340 TWh (4.3 times UK), Wind generation 655 TWh (2.1 times UK) and solar generation 327 TWh (1.05 times UK national output). Thus China's renewable energy alone can power 8.8 times UK annually! (3) Your UK 220 years total pollution is same as China's last 8 years is just a selective way of looking at the numbers as this suggest China emits 220/8 = 27.5 times more pollutants than UK. UK in 2021 generated 306.8 TWh so comparing with China in 2021 China does generate 8,735/306.8 = 28.47 times more electrical power annually and could be accused giving out equal amount of pollutants.

I remember very clearly that the chief executive of China's high-speed railway once said in an interview with the media: when China's high-speed railway was purchased externally, Japan and Germany participated in the technical bidding. However, when China's head arrived in Japan, Japan banned the Chinese team from entering the cab to visit (for fear of stealing their technology). After China's high-speed railway was on the road, reporters were welcome to shoot. They are not afraid of technology leakage at all. @@henrygingold6549 live in fear? china is not north Korea. fear of what getting fired and not being able to make ends meet? because let me tell you that is the exact situation of many millions in the US and the EU. most blue collar workers live paycheck to paycheck. he only reason I don't have that fear is because I have 2 jobs and I am not prob gonna lose both at the same time.

In disarray!
yes, it surprised me too. i thought there would be a lot more automation, but most of the final assembly is built by hand!
Ya. You describe my country too. Full of stupid politicians and self serving civil servants.

Impressive to see busses have come a long way. I remember always seeing buses in especially in Guangzhou downtown area where they run on electricity lines like trams. I use to wonder wow can buses do that, that too in the of middle of busy downtown roads. Yes buses have come a long way. When I saw in 2015 electric (EV) buses running on roads in GZ I was like wow silent no smoke no engine noise and it looks so impressive.
Over all Nice video.

Great video! Envy you got such a deep dive into a world class bus manufacturer's core asset. You got it right, building a bus isn't just putting wheels on a chassis, and what keeps Yutong a world brand is not just cost-efficiency. They focus on developing next generation public transportation solution, as you can see the 5G and auto-driving technology.

Excellent episode! Amazing to see such huge factory and production. I have been in them on tours and are very comfortable.
Yes they are!
Yutong is not a Chinese brand. It's a global brand. Sold everywhere.
From Singapore, Phillipines to Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar to Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait to United Kingdom, European Union to the whole African continent and also in Chile, Uruguay, other Latin American countries.
You've mistaken and said 30 countries instead of 130 countries by mistake.
But the founder is Chinese.
It is amazing that you have full access to the different areas of the site. Generally, western media qualify any Chinese organisation, factory or activity as being "secretive".
...for the most part, they are. So it's extra special when you get a chance to film something like this.

This looks amazing. I was always curious to look into the process of manufacturing these huge buses we see running around our highways. Its very impressive.

Any major works is always an eye opener. I won't be able to make comparison with Hitchi or Mitsubishu of Japan, Finland's Wartsila, France's Alstom or the NEI Parsons in UK before it was broken up but China is definiely catching fast and holds its own ground.
REMEMBER ICARUS
@@johnmurphy9550 China-hater ignoring the following facts
(1) China in 2021 generated 8,375 TWh when US generated 4,280 TWh.
UK in 2021 generated 306.8 TWh so comparing with China in 2021 China does generate 8,735/306.8 = 28.47 times more electrical power annually and could be accused giving out equal amount of pollutants.

yeah Volvo is one of the best manufactuers
If he is a Chinese reporter who goes to a factory in the United States, they accuse him of being an atonement for the Chinese government
Another example is that the chief design engineer of Boeing's first commercial aircraft is Chinese. However, when he completed the flight test and waited for the relevant government review, he was rejected. Don't let him participate, say it will steal American technology
