- Ear wax removal using irrigation and curettage is demonstrated. The earwax accumulation was preventing this patient's hearing aid from working well. Hearing was restored to its baseline level following the ear wax removal.
Our solution is warm water with approximately 20-30% of the volume composed of over-the-counter hydrogen peroxide.

My 16yr old daughter wears hearing aids. She gets her ears cleaned every 3mths and absolutely loves it. Its one Dr appointment she looks forward too. She said the process is extremely relaxing.😁
Great bedside manner doc! I'm a nurse and had my patients lay on their side to scoop the ear out. I found it made them sit still better and gave me a better look into the ear. I could position the light much better from above apposed to shining it from the side, and it gave me better positioning to get the wax out without hitting the sensitive walls of the ear canal. Just a thought. Another great video 👍🏻

Dr, I have a question. I was cleaning my fiancés ear once, and I was being very careful not to stick the q tip too far in his ear. Despite my best efforts and gently touching him, his ear drum started to bleed a little. He said his hearing was fine and it did hurt a little bit. What could have happened?
I think it was soooo nice of you to hug her when she said that she loved you. :) Its very important to touch the elderly as you know, they are often alone and deprived of another human's touch........it makes them feel accepted and wanted.

shes so cute!!! I had surgery on my ears a couple of times because they put tubes in when i was young and then a few weeks ago they took them out but couldnt put new ones in because my ear canal collapsed or something but I really do need to stop using Q-tips.

I've worn hearing aids for 39 years and I've never had a build up of wax. how does this happen? The wax gets stuck to the aid not my ear. i do clean my ears occasionally but it's the aid i really have to clean
